Car Wash The present invention relates to a car wash.
There are already car washes known, in wel chen a portal,) which is relatively movable with respect to the car, one or more movably arranged, ro animal brush rollers.
The automatic cleaning of the car sides by such Bürstenwal zen is relatively easy; Difficulties arise only when cleaning the heavily offset top and the front and back of the vehicle. In such cases, the brush, which is intended for this purpose and which usually rotates around a horizontal axis, must be tracked to the profile because it is adjusted in height; at most with the stop of the longitudinal movement of the portal.
The present invention aims to create a car wash in which the control of the brush for tracking along the profile of the vehicle to be cleaned is carried out in a particularly simple and expedient manner.
The car wash system according to the invention with a portal that is relatively longitudinally movable to the car and a height-adjustable slide in the portal that carries a brush roller rotating about a horizontal axis, as well as with a drive motor for the portal movement and the height adjustment of the slide, is characterized in that the brush roller with an additional degree of freedom is movably mounted in the slide and return means are provided,
To return the brush roller to a normal position, and that switching devices connected to the drive motors are assigned to the brush roller; in order to control the height adjustment and the portal movement as a function of the deflection of the brush roller taking place in this degree of freedom against the reset means.
By creating an additional degree of freedom for the brush roller and its interaction with switching means, it also serves as a sensing element which controls the movements necessary for tracking along the profile of the car.
The additional degree of freedom can also be used to simplify the control by choosing a deflection movement with a horizontal and / or a vertical component. In the event of an abrupt change in profile, e.g. B. when driving onto the windshield, this allows an Auswei chen of the brush rollers without a control pulse must be transmitted as compulsory; it can thereby z. B. on a drive of the portal with different speeds can be dispensed with without further notice.
Instead, the control can result in an interruption of the portal movement, which can reduce the system costs.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the car wash according to the invention is shown. 1 shows the car wash system schematically in elevation, FIG. 2 shows an elevation of a detail from FIG. 1 on an enlarged scale, FIG. 3 shows a side view of the detail according to FIG. 2 and FIG. 4 shows a basic diagram of the drive control.
With 2 in Fig. 1 is generally a portal frame be characterized, which is provided on both sides with a chassis 4, its drive via an electric motor 6 takes place.
The portal columns 8 and 10 supported on both sides on the chassis 4, which are connected to one another by a transverse web 12, lead between them a vertically movable carriage formed by two plates 14 (only one shown in FIGS. 1 and 3), the plates are connected via pull cables 16 with cable drums 18 in Ver. An electric motor 20 is in drive connection with the cable drums 18 connected to one another by a shaft 22, the shaft being mounted on the crosspiece in a manner not presented.
As can be better seen from FIG. 3, a yoke 24 is supported pivotably via a respective axle journal 26 in bearings 28 of the opposing plates 14 and carries between its arms 30 a shaft 32 on which a brush roller 34 is mounted. The shaft 32 is connected to a drive motor not shown. B. can be arranged in one of the arms 30.
From FIGS. 2 and 3 it can also be seen that one arm 30 carries five switching magnets on its side facing the associated plate 14, which are designated by 36, 38 and 38 'and 40 and 40'. The five permanent magnets, which are each attached to the arm 30 via a carrier 42, together form the shape of a V, with the magnet 36 in the apex and the magnets 38 and 40 or 38 'and 40' in the two legs of this V lie.
The magnets are intended to interact with three reed switches 44, 46 and 48, which are mounted in the associated plate 14 distributed on a vertical straight line and are in a control circuit for the drive motors 6 and 20. The magnet 36 is assigned to the switch 44, while the magnets 38 and 38 'with the switch 46 and the magnets 40 and 40' with the switch 48 are intended to work together.
In Fig. 4, the circuit diagram of the control circuit is shown schematically. With 50 and 52 the two mains conductors are designated, between which the drive motors 6 and 20 lie, the drive motor 20, the pole-changing switch, being connected to the conductor 50 via the switch 44 and via the normally open contact 54 of a timing relay 56 . The relay 56 connected to the conductor 52 is in turn connected to the conductor 50 via the switch 46. On the other hand, the normally closed contact 58 of a timing relay 60, which is connected to the conductor 50 via the switch 48, lies between the conductor 50 and the drive motor 6.
To the plate 14: a damping cylinder 62 is hingedly connected, the piston 64 of which has a piston; rod 66 is articulated to arm 30.
In operation, the circuit according to FIG. 4 is switched on by a manual switch, not shown; since the normally closed contact 58 is closed - the relay 60 is not energized due to the open switch contact 48 - the drive motor 6 starts moving and drives the chassis 4. The portal thus moves against the front of the vehicle indicated schematically in FIG. 1.
At the same time, the drive motor 20 is energized, since the arm 30 of the yoke assumes its vertical neutral position according to FIG. 2 and the switching magnet 36 thus keeps the switch contact 44 located in its effective area closed.
The drive motor accordingly lowers the carriage formed from the plates 14 and thus the yoke 24 with the rotating brush roller 34 until: the latter hits the front of the car as a result of the forward movement of the portal 2. The yoke 24 is now pivoted backwards; the switch 44 is opened by the removal of the switching magnet 36 and the motor 20 is stopped.
Immediately thereafter, the switch 46 comes into the effective area of the switching magnet 38 ', since the yoke 24 pivots further clockwise as a result of the forward movement of the portal 2. By closing the switch 46, the time relay 56 was energized; after a predetermined period of time this now closes the normally open contact 54, where the motor 20 begins to rotate in the opposite direction and the yoke together with the brush roller 34 lifts.
But since the pivoting of the yoke as a result of the sustained forward movement of the portal 2 has progressed even further, the switch 48 was turned on and the relay 60 energized, which now opens the rest contact 58 with a predetermined time delay. This: The portal movement is interrupted.
Since the switch 46 is still closed by: the switching magnets 38 ', the upward movement of the yoke and the brush roller continues with the portal stationary and while pivoting counterclockwise until the brush roller is level with the hood. In the meantime, the switching magnet 40 'has become ineffective, so that the contact 58 closes when the relay 60 drops and the motor 6 sets the portal in motion again.
With the further pivoting of the yoke in the counterclockwise direction against the neutral position, the switch 46 has also opened, whereby the motor 20 was stopped. The brush roller only moves over the slightly rising engine hood, whereby the yoke is slowly swiveled counterclockwise again.
When it hits the windshield of the car, the brush roller 34 pivots the yoke further counterclockwise; the switch 46 is: therefore closed and with a corresponding delay, the motor 20 is set through the contact 54 in operation. This will raise the carriage with the brush roller again. Reaches the brush roller after driving over the roof of the sen rear edge; or if this is released by the roof, the yoke returns to the neutral position and: the switch 44 is closed by the magnet 36 ge.
The carriage is lowered by the motor 20 so that the brush roller brushes the rear window be. When cleaning the vehicle with reversed portal movement, the brush works in an analogous manner as a tactile element, but now the Schaltma gnete 38 and 40 are effective, since the deflection of the yoke is mainly clockwise.
Stowage of a pivotable yoke could also be used a horizontally or obliquely displaceable yoke. It would also be possible to give the brush roller a further degree of freedom so that it could rotate together with its drive motor by a certain angle, namely about an axis coinciding with the axis of rotation.
The deflection in the circumferential direction would result in a measure of the frictional torque and could be used to generate control pulses. can be used for the drive motors. There would be no need for a yoke; the roller brush or a stationary shaft supporting this could be supported directly in the carriage or its plates.
