Pipe connector The invention relates to a pipe connector comprising a sleeve provided with seals and a stop for locating and spacing the ends of the pipes in said sleeve. .
According to the invention, this connection is characterized in that this stop is constituted by a part which is partially housed in a recess formed in the inner face of the sleeve and protrudes on this face, and the length of which is limited to a fraction of the circumference of the sleeve.
The stopper can advantageously have the form of a ring segment which preferably has a T-profile whose horizontal branches occupy the recess inside the inside of the sleeve and whose the vertical branch is intended to interpose itself between the ends of the pipes. The interior recess of the sleeve can advantageously be a circular groove.
The horizontal branches of the T-profile of the stopper may have a bevel on either side of the vertical branch, so that when a pipe is introduced into the sleeve, the end of the pipe comes into contact with the pipe. beveled face before touching the vertical branch constituting the stop element itself. Thus, the stopper is pressed and held in the circular groove by the end of the pipe and any risk of dislodging it by introducing a pipe into the sleeve, is removed.
Compared to stops consisting of a whole ring, the ring segment stop offers, besides the obvious advantage of saving material, the technical advantage of allowing greater deflection of the pipes connected by the fittings and to make the installation of a pipeline easier.
The appended drawing represents to by way of example one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a connection stop ; in fig. 2 shows an axial section of a fitting in which the end of one pipe is engaged and that of the other pipe is ready to to be engaged, and fig . 3 is a section taken along line 111-III of FIG. 2.
The stop of the coupling to , made of suitable material, is formed by a segment of ring 1 whose profile has the shape of a T whose branch 2 represents the stop itself. The branches 3 and 4 have on both sides of the branch 2 a bevelled face 5.
The sleeve 6 is internally provided with circular grooves in which those of the ends retain the sealing rings 7 while the middle groove 8 is intended to receive branches 3 and 4 of the ring segment which engage with a slight tightening.
When inserting a pipe 9 or 10 into the sleeve, deforming the ring 7 to establish the seal, the end of the pipe first makes contact with one face, bevelled 5 of the ring segment, preventing it from dislodging the segment from the groove 8 in which it has been inserted beforehand. The pipes are in place in the the fitting when their end touches the stopper 2, which maintains the proper spacing between the two pipes in the fitting.
The ring segment allows the pipes to flex freely when the pipe deviates from the straight line and makes fitting the fittings easier.
