Non-return valve The subject of the present invention is a non-return valve which is suitable for use in pressure fluid diversions.
Known check valves usually have a relatively large pressure flow resistance and, in the open position, cause a considerable throttling of the pressure medium flow. They can usually only be opened by a relatively large excess pressure, i. H. they only respond to large pressure differences and their operational reliability is low.
The present invention seeks to provide a check valve in which the disadvantages mentioned are avoided. For this purpose, the check valve according to the invention is characterized in that a valve body with a spherical sealing surface is arranged in a passage housing with a valve seat, which is guided in a cage for its movement and is supported on the side facing away from the valve seat by a spring on the cage.
The spring force can be chosen so that it only presses the valve body against its seat when there is a pressure in the valve seat-side housing chamber that is at least equal to the pressure in the other housing chamber, so that the valve will open at the slightest overpressure in this other chamber is opened. The spherical shape of the valve body ensures that it rests perfectly against the seat surface at all times, with the loose cage guide preventing greater friction forces and guide inaccuracies.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the non-return valve according to the invention is shown in axial section. At both ends of a cylindrical passage housing 1 with the interposition of a seal 2 by means of a union nut 3 connection stubs 4 are fixed. An inner end flange of the housing 1 is provided with a conical seat surface 5. A spherical valve body 6, which is loosely guided in a cage 7, acts together with this seat surface 5. The arcuate cage rods 7a end in a threaded ring 7b which is screwed coaxially into the housing 1 on the seat surface side.
A helical spring 8 is supported on the bottom of the cage 7 and engages in a recess 9 of the valve body 6 and presses it against the seat surface 5. The spring 8 is relatively weak, so that it can only hold the valve body 6 in its closed position when the pressure in the housing chamber 10 on the side of the seat surface is lower than in the housing chamber 11 on the inflow side.
If the pressure in the two chambers 10 and 11 is equal or if the pressure in chamber 11 rises above that in chamber 10, the spring 8 presses the valve body 6 loosely guided in the cage 7, possibly supported by the overpressure in the chamber 11 against the seat surface 5. The spherical shape of the sealing surface of the valve body 6 always ensures a perfectly closing seat of the valve body 6 on the conical seat surface 5.
The weak spring 8 together with the flow-favorable shape of the valve body 6 results in a small flow resistance and thus a high permeability of the valve in its open position. The weak spring 8 also prevents the occurrence of Rückschlä conditions in the valve and, together with the low-friction cage mounting of the valve body, ensures great operational reliability. Since all moving valve parts are permanently installed in the housing 1, the valve can be installed and removed quickly and easily.
