Plastic pipe with a pipe coupling part The invention relates to a plastic pipe with a pipe coupling part, the pipe having a grooving matched to the tooth-like annular ribs of the bore of the coupling part.
Pipe connections are already known in which a plastic pipe is held in the bore of a metal sleeve by annular teeth. Such connections only require the hollow cylindrical pipe end to be pushed into the socket bore. However, they have the disadvantage that the tooth combs are able to access a few tenths of a millimeter into the pipe material, even if it is a relatively soft pipe and the penetration of the teeth is favored during operation by the internal pressure in the pipe.
Since, due to the notch sensitivity of the pipe material, the tooth back must run fairly flat to the socket axis, the effective radial surface pressure between pipe and socket decreases rapidly with increasing penetration depth of the teeth in the pipe, so that connections of this type are unsuitable for hard plastic pipes and for softer ones Pipes, such as polyethylene pipes only satisfy if there is no significant axial stress.
The aim of the invention is to achieve the object of not being able to releasably connect a plastic pipe to a pipe coupling part, the connection being able to withstand a much higher axial tension than with conventional connections.
The invention is characterized in that before the pipe coupling part is pushed on, the diameter of the bottom of the grooves on the pipe is larger than the clear chamber diameter of the annular ribs arranged in the bore of the coupling part.
The inventive method for producing a connection between plastic pipes and pipe coupling part is characterized in that the grooved pipe is pressed prior to being axially pushed into the bore of the coupling part by a tool coaxial with it, the opening of which is in the area facing away from the coupling part expanded to a diameter that is as large or greater than the outer diameter of the uncompressed pipe res, while the narrowest opening diameter of the tool at least approximately corresponds to the clear diameter of the chamber of the annular ribs arranged in the bore of the coupling part.
In the drawing, embodiments of the subject invention He are shown.
Fig. 1 to 3 show cross sections through the pipe and a portion of the pipe coupling part, wherein the Ringrip pen have different cross-sectional shapes, Fig. 4 shows a cross section through a variant of a pipe coupling, Fig. 5 is a cross section through a pipe end with a butt-welded pipe section FIG. 6 shows a section analogous to FIG. 5 with a pipe section welded or glued to the pipe on the jacket side, FIG. 7 shows a section through pipe,
Coupling part and tool for making the connection.
The plastic tube 1 is provided at its end with a plurality of grooves 2, which are either produced by cutting or pressed into the material with heating. The cross-sectional shape of these grooves is sawtooth-shaped according to FIGS. Ring sections 4 of a section of a coupling part 3 engage in these grooves. This pipe coupling part is preferably made of metal; However, it could also consist of a different material, provided that this is harder than the pipe material.
So that tightness is guaranteed in the assembled state between the grooves 2 and the coupling part 3, the diameter of the groove base in the original, i.e. unassembled state, must be about 1-6% larger than the chamber diameter of the annular ribs measured in the bore. In the assembled state, this results in permanent pressure between the annular ribs and the bottom of the grooves.
The diameter difference must be selected to be relatively large if the pipe material tends to creep, so that the initial stress is reduced by slowly adapting to the radial deformation. Furthermore, the diameter difference should also be selected to be large if the connection is exposed to significant temperature fluctuations and the pipe material has a high coefficient of thermal expansion, as is the case with polyethylene, for example.
In Fig. 4, two coupling parts 3 are provided, which are provided in their bore with annular ribs 4, wel che in correspondingly shaped grooves of the tubes 1 engage.
The coupling parts 3 are each provided on the outside with an annular shoulder 8 and each have an inwardly protruding, annular shoulder 10 that overlaps the tube end face. Over the shoulders 8 engages a Hal ter 12, the cross section of which is U-shaped and carries a sealing ring 13 inside.
The coupling part 3 can also be designed without a shoulder 8, as is shown in FIG.
With regard to the production of the grooves 2, the use of a short piece of pipe 6, which is made of the same or similar plastic as the long pipe 1 and afterwards verbun inseparably with this, can offer advantages. With such a short piece of pipe 6, the grooves can be made, for example, on a lathe. The term pipe in the claims should therefore also extend to short, ring-like pipe sections.
According to FIG. 5, such a short pipe section 6 is butt-welded or glued to a pipe 1 which is usually much longer. In Fig. 6 an Ausfüh approximately form is shown in which a short plastic pipe piece 14 is inserted over the end of the longer tube 1 and glued or welded to this. In FIG. 5 the weld point is designated by 18, in FIG. 6 the adhesive point is designated by 19.
The coupling parts are put on with the aid of a tool 15 according to FIG. 7. This tool 15 is designed in one piece for short pipe sections and as a two-part or multi-part ring for longer pipes, the parting surfaces running approximately parallel to the pipe axis. On the side facing away from the coupling part 3, the tool has an opening 16, the diameter of which corresponds to the outer diameter of the pipe 1 or is slightly larger than this.
The tool opening facing the coupling part is smaller than the comb diameter of the annular ribs 4, so that the plastic pipe is compressed in the radial direction and can then be pushed over the annular ribs 4 without the risk that the grooves of the pipe will be damaged or deformed, like this the case would be if the plastic pipe were inserted into the bore of the coupling part without a tool.
The smallest inside diameter of the tool has to be chosen to be a small amount smaller than the chamber diameter of the annular ribs, because the tube has a tendency to expand slightly after leaving the tool. After inserting the raw 1 into the bore of the coupling part 3, the tool 15 is removed, whereupon the grooves of the tube and the annular ribs of the coupling part come into engagement. In order to ensure an exact coaxial position of the tool and the bore of the coupling part during assembly, an annular shoulder 17 is provided on the tool 15 for the centering reception of the shoulder of the coupling part.
