Description
unbenützte Gewindebohrung 3 m i ittels eines entsprechenden Mehrkant-Steckschlüssels zugänglich.
Pipe connection for frame construction In the case of frame constructions that can be dismantled with straight pipes. Between pipes arranged at an angle to one another, connecting elements are required which, depending on whether the connection point consists of two or three to six pipes in different directions, must be differently designed.
One-piece plug-in connection elements that have become known are therefore provided in six different types per pipe width for the various needs. If gesture construction is intended, it must therefore be determined in advance which types of connecting elements and how many pieces of each type are required.
Even with a simple frame conversion, the need for such types of connecting elements can change, with an excess of connecting elements that are no longer required. Another disadvantage is the manufacturing effort in such a large number of types.
The present invention relates to a pipe connection for: gesture construction, which is intended to enable the connection element to be releasably assembled from components as required according to the connection to be produced, each of which comprises the same set of parts for the pipe connections except for a common central part.
The pipe connection according to the invention is characterized in that for the releasable connection of the one ends of pipes to one another a connection head is provided with a threaded hole to each such pipe end, which runs in its axial direction and in which a head screw protruding into the pipe end is screwed, on the shaft of which there are two wedge sleeves, which are connected to each other with the wedge surface and the face facing away from it.
on the connection head or the screw head and hold the pipe end on the inside with the screw tightened.
An embodiment of the invention will then be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a corner connection in a perspective view, and Fig. 2 shows a cross-shaped pipe connection partly in axial section.
The illustrated releasable pipe connections each have a spherical connection head 1, which is arranged between the ends of the pipes 2 to be connected and is provided with a threaded hole 3 to each pipe end, which extends diametrically through the head 1 in its axial direction. The continuous threaded bores 3 are preferably arranged along three axes at right angles to one another so that two to six tubes can be connected to one another as required.
To connect each pipe end 2 to the head 1, two identical wedge sleeves 4 and a head screw 5 are provided, which are inserted through the two wedge sleeves and screwed into the associated bore 3 of the head 1 with the end of the threaded shaft. The wedge sleeves 4 are supported on one another with their wedge surface 6 inclined to the sleeve axis and stand with the facing away from it,
grooved end face 7 on head 1 or on countersunk head 8 of screw 5. The outer diameter of the wedge sleeves is smaller than the inner diameter of the pipe end by a slight pushing of the pipe end 2 onto the same he possible play. If the screw 5 is tightened after the pipe has been pushed onto the wedge sleeves,
so the wedge sleeves are pushed against the inside of the pipe end and hold it in place.
To tighten and loosen the screw 5, the screw head 8 can be designed as a hexagon and / or be provided with a slot 9 for the engagement of a screwdriver, and / or the opposite end of the screw shaft to the screw head can be a multi-sided plug-in hole 10 for inserting a Key on ways.
In the case of relatively short tubes, the screw head can be reached using a screwdriver or wrench. In many cases, such as B. in the corner connection according to Fig. 1, the plug-in hole 10 of the screw shank is through the diametrically opposite opening in the head 1,
unused threaded hole 3 accessible by means of a corresponding polygon socket wrench. Incidentally, it has been shown
that with wedge sleeves initially only slightly resting on the inside of the pipe, a full tightening or loosening of the screw 5 is also possible by correspondingly turning the pipe around its axis.
The unused in a pipe connection threaded debohrungen 3 are closed after tightening the screws 5 with advantage by a screw 11 each.
In order to enlarge the contact area between the wedge sleeves and the inside of the pipe, the pipe end can be elastically deformable under the tensioning effect of the wedge sleeves while the pipe circumference remains unchanged.
in that the pipe end merges into a weakly elliptical cross-sectional shape and then comes into contact with practically the entire inner circumference.
Furthermore: an advantageous effect or type of fastening with wedge sleeves when tightening the screw is that the displacement of the wedge sleeve pending on the screw head has a displacement component directed against the connection head 1 that seeks to take the pipe towards the head 1 with it.
