Crossbar switch arrangement The subject of the present invention is a crossbar switch arrangement with a set of outputs which are associated with the selection rails of the switch and a set of inputs which are associated with the operating rails of the switch.
Such coordinate switch arrangements are known and are often used in telecommunications technology. For the purpose of selecting an output, a selector bar is operated first and then an operating bar. These interacting processes close the contacts between the selected output and the desired input. Then the selection rail can be fixed, and the connection remains id by the actuating rail. However, it can also be maintained by mechanical or magnetic locking. Many coordinate switches in use are provided with four sets of contacts per intersection point. In this case, two voting magnets are usually attached to each election rail.
This can therefore be put in two different positions, depending on the electromagnet being operated. Furthermore, it is then customary to use one of the selector rails as a switching rail and to switch the contacts that correspond to a specific actuating rail so many times that each selector rail is assigned to four outputs.
In order to connect the input corresponding to an operating rail to a specific output, the selector rail corresponding to the set of four outputs containing the desired output must be operated, and the specific desired output will be activated according to the specific electromagnet Choice rail both as the individual electromagnet of the shift rail that are actuated, selected.
In this way, the output capacitance is doubled with the aid of the switching rail and both a selector rail and a switching rail must take effect before the actuating rail is moved in order to establish the connection.
For each of the selection rails, with the exception of the one that is used as a switching rail, the wiring that corresponds to the four outputs assigned to this selection rail is multiple-switched along the rail, so that connections between any of these outputs and inputs are established by making this selection rail active can be.
If, however, a selector bar fails when working in such a crossbar switch arrangement, this means that the connection to four outputs is prevented. If one of the two electromagnets controlling the selector rail fails, two outputs become unusable. In addition, if the selector rail is used as a switch rail and fails to work, all outputs are made unusable. If an electromagnet which controls the shift rail fails, half of the outputs can no longer be selected.
Such a coincidence can usually be countered in a telecommunications office by dividing the various switching stages into sections by using entanglements. The entanglements are made in such a way that a reserve path is always available via another switch, should a crossbar switch fail due to an incorrectly working selector bar.
In the case of crossbar switches, the outputs of which lead directly to the subscriber lines, the outputs can no longer be reached if the corresponding selection bar fails, regardless of the fact that one or more actuating bars are in an accessible state. The general purpose of the invention is to provide a crossbar switch arrangement in which, regardless of the failure of a selection rail, there remains the possibility of establishing a connection to the output or outputs.
Correspondingly, the coordinate switch arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that the actuation rails are divided into at least two groups and that a connection between an output and an input is made by actuating certain selection rails, depending on the group to which the actuation rail is attached that corresponds to the input belongs, whereby any of at least two selection rails are alternately available to help in establishing a connection with an output.
The invention is explained below using an exemplary embodiment with the aid of the drawing voltage. In this, Fig. 1 shows a coordinate switch arrangement, which shows in schematic form both the selection and loading operating rails of the switch as the input and output ladder, and FIG. 2 shows a control scheme for the arrangement according to FIG .
In FIG. 1, the diagram shows a coordinate switch arrangement which can be of conventional design.
It contains a set of 14 horizontal selection rails and a set of 8 vertical actuation rails. The number: the latter can be increased to 22 in known designs. The rails are shown in thick lines, only partially. Each selector rail has a rest position and two actuation positions. It is controlled by two electromagnets such as PI and Q1. The reference symbols appear immediately next to the corresponding rails on the side of the controlled contacts.
For the bottom selector bar, actuation of P1 prepares, for example, the closing of the contacts that are directly below the corresponding selector rail, while the actuation of the electric magnet Q1 prepares the closing of the contacts, which are shown immediately above this selector bar. In the usual way, the closing of the contacts is carried out by the subsequent actuation or vertical actuation rail, which in addition to its rest position has only one actuation position, which -by a -single corresponding electromagnet, for. B. VO is controlled.
As for the horizontal selection rails, the electromagnet is not shown for the vertical actuation rails either, but is indicated by a corresponding designation V0 / 7. In this way, the actuation of the selector rail, which corresponds for example to PI, 1Q1, with subsequent actuation of the vertical rail VO leads to the effective closure of these four contacts, which are initially shown at the intersection between the two rails.
Also in accordance with common practice, one of the 14 selector rails is used as a so-called shift rail. This is shown in FIG. 1, in particular to the right of this by the horizontal selector bar, which is attached to the electromagnet P14 / Q14. Each input is assigned to a vertical operating rail, while a set of four outputs belongs to a horizontal selector rail. In order to establish a connection between any input and an output, it is first necessary to operate the 14th or switching rail and to cause one of the remaining 13 selector rails and then the vertical operating rail to work.
Since the shift rail can be brought into one of two positions, it makes a first choice between four assigned outputs, whereby it works together with the actuated selector rail. The further selection of a particular output from four of these is then carried out by actuating the relevant selection bar, which can be put in two positions. If z. B. on the basis of Fig. 1 a connection between the input 0 and the output 00 is to be established, the electromagnet Q14 of the 14th selection rail, d. H. the shift rail operated together with the electromagnet P1 of the first selector rail.
Thereafter, the electromagnet VO: of the corresponding vertical operating rail is energized, whereby it closes the contacts which are assigned to this latter rail and are connected to output 00, together with the other contacts which are directly connected to output 0 by actuating P14 are. The connection is established in this way using two contacts in series. Since after the actuated selector rail or switching rail can be released, and the connection is held solely by the address of the rail VO.
Another connection to be made then uses a different operating rail.
The crossbar switch arrangement described above and its wiring between inputs and outputs is conventional. According to Fig. 1, however, the inputs, such as 00, 01, 02 and 03, are initially the selector rail P1 / Q1 and the actuating rail VO1Vl and in the second part of the switch of the selector rail P2 / Q2 and the Actuation rail assigned to V6 and V7.
The next set of four outputs, i.e. H. 04, 05, 06 and 07 are controlled in the right part of the switch by P2 / Q2, whereby the contacts are controlled by the operating rails VO and V1. In the left part of the arrangement, however, the outputs mentioned are dependent on the P1 / Q1 rail or similar rails, such as V6 and V7. For example, the crossing can take place exactly in the middle of the switch, so that four operating rails: are on each side of the crossing of the horizontal multiple.
This means that if it is desired to establish a connection between any four outputs 00, 01, 02 or 03, as well as between the four inputs 0, 1, 2 or 3, the assigned selector rail P11Q1 will work should, while if any of these outputs were to be connected to any of the four inputs from 4 to 7, the selector rail associated with P2 / Q2 should work. The connections for the first two and the last sets of four outputs are shown in Figure 1 alone.
It is clear, however, that there are eight outputs for each additional pair of selector rails and the connection to the inputs is made in the same manner indicated.
The connections of the last pair of elective rails are slightly different from those mentioned above, although the multiples connected to the last set of four outputs 48, 49, 50, 51 are connected in the same way as: the preceding set of four . This means that they are not only added to the selector rails P13 / Q13, but also to the last selector rail or shift rail that is controlled by P141Q14. The first sets of contacts, which are controlled by the latter switching rails, are only connected to the corresponding inputs from 0 to 3. In the same way, the contacts which the 13th
Selector rail are assigned and which are connected to the outputs from 4 to 7 that this 13th rail can be used as a normal selector rail and as a switching rail, as is the case for the 14th rail, which is used as a switching rail for: the inputs of 0 to 3 and can serve as a selection bar for inputs from 4 to 7.
In other words, if one of the 12 selection rails or one of the last two selection rails that can be used as selection rails and shift rails does not work properly, actuation of another group allows a connection to be made; Another shift rail, bypassing the faulty rails.
Only in the case where a connection is the simultaneous working of the rail corresponding to P13 / Q13 and P14 / Q14, it is not possible to establish a connection if one of these rails or both do not work properly.
For all other cases of incorrect operation of a selector rail or one of its electric magnets, it is sufficient to operate the associated selector rail, which corresponds to the one with which no choice was possible and also to operate the other switch rail, which was not faulty, to make the connection to produce while at the same time an actuating rail now nm another set, i. H. in the sentence that corresponds to V4 / V7 or, conversely, in the sentence that corresponds to VO / V3.
While Fig. 1 shows that a connection between an input and an output is made on the basis of only one wire, it is clear that: three or more contacts per crossing point can be used, as is the common practice in telecommunications offices. Although the arrangement can be used in any electoral level of an office, it is particularly suitable for the final level or line election.
In some crossbar switch systems that use the connecting line principle, the output switching stages contain a primary and a secondary crossbar switch. The second stage, i.e. H.
the secondary switch has direct access to the subscribers, and each subscriber is accessible through the actuation of a single specific selector bar in association with the switch bar which is in the actuated position. For example, the participants can be subdivided into groups of thousands and 20 coordinate switches can be provided for each of these groups, each of which has access to 50 participants.
These coordinate switches form the secondary level and its inputs. The outputs that lead to the participants are connected to the outputs of the coordinate switches, which form the primary level and whose inputs are formed by fifties dialers or call seekers,
so that a thousand subscriber unit begins the traffic of the subscribers in both directions. The number of vertical rails or bridges of the final selectors in each co-ordinate switch; the second stage gives access to 50 participants and can be twice as many as the number of co-ordinate switches in the primary stage.
In this way, each crossbar switch of the second stage then has access to two outputs of each crossbar switch of the first stage.
If, for example, the number of final selectors of each crossbar of the secondary stage is 8, the number of coordinate switches in the primary stage is therefore 4, and there is a connection comprising 160 connection lines between the outputs of the four crossbars , which form the primary stage and the inputs of the 20 coordinatesm switch of the secondary stage.
Such a system can be used for any type of traffic by e.g. B. the increase in the number of terminals of the voters ider coordinate switches, wel che form the secondary level, can be used.
Should a fault then occur on a voting bar in one of the coordinate switches, which gives direct access to a subscriber, it would be impossible to establish any connection to subscribers, regardless of the fact that final voters would be free. The arrangement according to FIG. I allows this fact to be counteracted with little effort.
FIG. 2 shows how a switch according to FIG. 1 can be controlled.
Before it is described how one of the 52 outputs of the crossbar switch arrangement of FIG. 1 can be selected, the main processes with the various relays shown in FIG. 2 should be enumerated.
The relays <I> A, B, </I> C and D identify the four groups of 13 outputs into which the 52 outputs are divided, so that the response of one of these four relays determines which electromagnet controls the switching rod and which Electromagnet controls the selection bar, according to the desired group of four. The relays <I> A ', B', </I> <B> C </B> and D 'are auxiliary relays to the four relays mentioned above.
The relay E is a checking relay that is only activated when both electromagnets, i.e. H. that of the selector rail and that of the shift rail have been excited.
The relay F is another checking relay that responds at the beginning of the election when it has been determined that all the electromagnets that control the selection and switching rails are initially in the released state.
The relay N is energized by the control circuit at the beginning of the selection.
Relays P1 / 14 and Q1114 correspond to the 14 pairs of selector magnets.
The relays <I> V </I> and <I> W </I> form a reduction of two, with the relay V indicating which set of the vertical or operating rail must be energized in order to ensure a connection.
The relay X is finally a malfunction relay, wel Ches responds when any of the electromagnets that controls the selector rails, or one of the two electromagnets that controls the switch rail has not worked.
The operation of the selector circuit of Fig. 2 is described below.
As soon as energy is applied to the circuit, the relay V works. The circuit runs from earth via the isolating contact x1, isolating contact e1, isolating contact w, winding of V and the right stop; winding relay W after the negative battery. While relay V works in this circuit, the flux generated by it in the right winding of relay W is not sufficient for this relay to respond that relay V is an auxiliary relay.
When working, the relay V closes the holding circuit via the make contact v31 and the short-circuited left winding of -_Relais W. In this state, all changeover contacts from vl-v30 as well as v32 and v33 of relay V are activated. They are accordingly - in the position opposite to that shown in FIG. 2.
If the circuit according to _ Fig. 2 is occupied by a control circuit (not shown), the latter applies a negative battery to the terminal, which leads to the N relay, whereby this is excited and .the contacts n1 and n2 .close. Closing the normally open contact n2 creates a circuit via the isolating contact x3 for the test relay. F her which works, provided that all contacts p1114 and q1114 are in the rest position, which is also shown in the drawing.
Simultaneously with the assignment of the circuit according to FIG. 2 by applying earth to the winding of relay N or a little earlier, marking earth (not shown) is applied to one or more of the 52 terminals which lead to the various selection magnets P1 / 14 and Qlj14 . It can be assumed, for example, that this earth is connected to terminals corresponding to the outputs that are either calling lines or called lines and belong to the same group of extensions.
In FIG. 2, only the first eight and the last four of these 52 markers are clamped. They are connected to one of the four auxiliary relays A ', <I>B',</I> <B> C </B> or <I> D' </I> via an individual resistor, e.g. B. Ral, connected to mark the terminal in the lower right corner. This resistor connects the corresponding terminal to one end of the winding of relay <B> A ', </B> the other end of which is connected to a negative battery, like the other three auxiliary relays. As shown in Fig. 2, the first terminal on the right is in this way :. connected to relay A '.
The second terminal is connected to relay B 'etc., and the fifth terminal is in turn connected to relay A' etc. In this way, the response of a @ di2ser identifies four relays, which of the two electromagnets of a selector rail and which of the two electromagnets a switching rail to be operated. However, since different marking potentials can be present at the same time on different marking terminals, a blocking arrangement must be made. This is supplied by the relays <I> A, B, </I> C and D and their auxiliary relays <I> A ', B', </I> <B> C </B> and D ', their actuation circuit has just been explained.
After one or more of these four auxiliary relays have responded, the corresponding normally open contacts <I> a ', b', </I> c 'or <I> d' </I> are closed. This means that the earth, which is brought about by the contact n1, is applied to the corresponding relay <I> A, B, </I> C or <I> D </I> via the main chain of contacts, which for each relay has an isolating contact for the other three relays in series with the normally open contact of the auxiliary relay. This blocking circuit ensures that only one of the four relays <I> A, B, C </I> and <I> D </I> is finally activated. In fact, one of these four relays excludes the others from responding.
In this way 39 out of 52 outputs are connected and the selection of an output is automatically restricted to a group of 13 which is characterized by the actuation of the same electromagnet on the shift rails, e.g. P14 or Q14, as well as by the Actuation of an electromagnet of the selection rail, which either comes from the P or Q series.
If it is assumed that it is relay A which remains in the addressed state (via n1, c15, d15, <I> b16 </I> and <I> a '), </I> the working contacts secure a1113 that the marking potential or the marking potentials, which correspond to these relays, is applied to the lower end of the corresponding electric magnets (Pl / P13), via the switching contacts v1, v3 ... v25 in their working position, as the relay V, as indicated above, has addressed.
Furthermore, the closing of the contact a14 leaves earth via the armature of the contact v28 in the working position at the lower end, the winding of the electromagnet Q14. Since the response of the checking relay F has caused the closure of various working contacts f1 / 14, the other ends of the windings of all electromagnets P1 / 14 and Q1 / 14 are now connected at different points to the priority chain, which is established by the switching contacts p1 / 14 and q1 / 14 is formed.
With this arrangement, despite the fact that various contacts a1, <I> a2 ... a13 </I> receive a marker earth, only the corresponding electromagnet that controls the selector bar is able to work, namely the electromagnet with the lowest number. If it is assumed that a marker earth is applied to the contact a1, the electromagnet P1 is therefore actuated because the upper end of its winding on the negative battery is connected to the normally open contact of f 1.
Other electromagnets such as P2 or P13 can also work at the same time, since the make contacts f2 and <B> f13 </B> are also closed. The response of these electric magnets can, however, only for a short time, because as soon as P1 is excited, the switching contact p1 changes to the working position to keep the electromagnet P1 in the actuated position independently of the relay F and at the same time to close the priority contact chain interrupt.
Since b.-while working the relay F is on a negative battery via the isolating contact of e3 in series with the normally open contact f16, the latter also applies the negative battery, the electromagnet P14 and to the electromagnet Q14, which operated for the b.- State of relay V serve as switching rails electromagnets. Since it was assumed that relay A has responded, magnet Q14 works via a circuit that closes from earth via a14, v28, winding Q14, contact f14, contact v30 and contact f 16 after a negative battery. The electromagnet Q14 is held by the changeover contact q14, which is in the working position.
When both electromagnets P1 and Q14 are energized, a circuit for the checking relay E is established. This runs from earth via contact x2 in a separating layer, the left winding from E, make contact p1, make contact q14, changeover contact v32 to the battery. As a result of the response of relay E, the following processes result.
Caused by the opening of the isolating contact e1, the short circuit on the winding of relay W is removed, so that this relay now responds in series with relay V, which remains addressed, with both windings. Contact e2 supplies a reverse current circuit via the right winding of relay E, which is controlled by the control circuit (not shown).
After closing the compulsory isolating contact e3, the actuating circuit for relay F is interrupted, so that this relay drops out. The above-mentioned inevitable contact e3, however, continues to supply a negative battery to contact v13, so that the electromagnet Q 14 remains energized.
Caused by the closing of the working contacts e4,! 5, a negative battery is applied to each of the terminals connected to these contacts, which indicates in which group the vertical operating rail should work. Since it was assumed that relay V is energized, changeover contact v32 is in the working position. From this it is assumed that they z. B. correspond to the actuated electromagnet V0 / 3 (not shown).
In fact, in the event that the relay V is energized, as shown in FIG. 1, the switching rail is controlled by the electromagnets P14 and Q14, and the connection should, as shown in the figure, by the response of the electromagnet V0 / 3 getting produced.
The control circuit then takes over, by means not shown, to rotate the operating rails. These are identified by the state of relay V. Thereafter, at least the actuated electromagnet P1 is released by the disappearance of the marker earth which was given to contact a1. After that, the relay E is only held in series with the closed contact e2 by its right-hand winding. When the control circuit causes the earth to disappear at this contact, relay E drops out.
By disconnecting earth at the terminal that leads to the relay N, this is also currentless, whereby the circuit of FIG. 2 returns to its normal state.
Caused by Idas dropping out of relay E, the isolating contact e1 is closed and since the relay W is now operated, earth is given to the connection point between the winding of relay V and the right winding of relay W. So that the relay V is short-circuited and drops accordingly. On the other hand, the current through the right winding of relay W causes a flow which is sufficient to keep relay W in the actuated state.
If, therefore, the next time the circuit according to FIG. 2 responds, when a new choice is to be made, the relay V is now in the rest position, this means that an actuating rail in the other set of four, i.e. H. V4 / 7 has been chosen. This is automatically displayed, caused by the changeover contact v32, which is now in the separating position, as shown in FIG. 2.
Since the contacts v29 / 30 are now: also in the separated state, it is the electromagnets P13 / Q13, which serve as shift rail electromagnets, while the electromagnets P13 and Q14 in the priority chain for the electromagnets, such as. B. P1 / 12 and Q1112, can be switched on. In normal operation, changing the state of relay V means that the vertical rails belonging to any set of four such are selected alternately.
This divides the traffic so that there is always an opportunity to find a free vertical operating rail if the horizontal selector rail fails to work.
If it is assumed that this will be the case for the next election and that the relay V is in the idle state while the relay W has responded, the fault relay X can work. This is via a normally open contact <B> f15 </B> at the connection point between the changeover contacts p14 and Q13, so that either the selector magnet or the switching magnet or both fail to work. Relay X, which is a slow response relay, is then energized.
If, on the other hand, everything is normal, from the moment that contact P15 is actuated, the time it takes to energize relay X is long enough to trigger one of the electromagnets P1 / 14 or Q1114 so that the relay <I> X </I> cannot work.
If it is assumed that the relay X responds, as just indicated, opening the isolating contact x1 has the same effect as opening the isolating contact EI. Since the relay V has now dropped out and the relay W is held in series with the changeover contact w via its second winding, the opening of contact x causes relay W to drop out. The changeover contact x2 moves into the working position and thus prevents that Relay E about to be actuated. At the same time it relocates the end to the terminal which is connected to the last winding of this relay through the normally open contact E2, which now opens.
This earth can now be used as an indication that an error has occurred: has occurred. A single wire may also be used.
Under normal circumstances, however, this error is automatically corrected, as can be seen from the following text. In fact, a third effect of the response of relay X or the opening of its isolating contact x3 is the interruption of the circuit for relay F.
Accordingly, this drops out and interrupts the working circuit for relay X because of the break contact of the working contact of f15. The dropping out of relay <I> X </I> in turn places earth through the isolating contact x1, the isolating contact e1 to the reduction arrangement with the relays V and W. Since .this time both relays are in the dropped-out state, the relay V is again operated as previously described.
This means that the marking potentials as well as the earth, which is fed via one of the contacts a14, b14, c14 or d14, are now given to the selection magnets via the various changeover contacts of v1 / 28 in the closed state. In other words, it should: A second attempt to make the choice by changing the electromagnets from PI and P2 or Q1 and Q2 to P13 and P14 or Q13 and Q14.
This means "that if the electromagnet P1 does not work due to the lack of a marking potential at the normally open contact a1, the marking is given to the electromagnet P2 the second time. If it is assumed that the latter is working and there as soon as the relay X has dropped out , the relay F has been actuated first, provided that it is assumed that all contacts of the electric magnets are in their rest positions, interrupts or changeover contact p2 the chain of contacts that leads to relay X, so that with an appropriately delayed relay the relay X is unable to respond, which means that the connection is established as described above.
Since the functions of P13 / Q13 are interchanged with those of <I> Pl41Q14 </I> according to the state of relay <I> V </I>, the selector rail contacts, which are included in the test circuit and the left winding of relay E comprise one set of 24 parallel contacts from the magnets P1 / 12 and Q1112, while the remaining two pairs of contacts, <B> i.e. </B> <I> p </I> 12, 'q <I> I 3 </I> on the one hand and <I> p </I> 141q 14 on the other hand,
remain either in parallel or in series with the other 24 in accordance with the state of the relay V.
In the arrangement according to FIG. 2, only the relays <I> V, W </I> and <I> X </I> are in addition to the equipment which normally has to be provided if the selection change is not provided. No additional contacts are then to be assigned to the electromagnets P and Q. Only the relay V then has a large number of contacts and may require an additional relay, while x2 may carry out the functions of x1 and x3 if the latter is changed with contact n2.
Whether the selection rail or their magnets or the shift rail or their magnets or both fall out, it is nevertheless possible to perform a second successful attempt at establishing the connection. The only exception is the case in which the output in question is one of the four, which requires the actuation of a selection rail, which also works as a switching rail. In fact, in this case it is impossible to make a choice, since the choice rail and the shift rail swap their functions for the second choice.
Except in the case of a temporary malfunction, only real errors in the selector rail actuation can prevent the selection from being made, namely for all four outputs, since disturbances to the electromagnets for the outputs 48 to 51 would still allow the selection to be made, since the second attempt at switching other electromagnets operated who the. Therefore, in practice, this would be less of an inconvenience, as these four outputs, and in particular 49 and 50, for example, extension groups could be assigned.
Likewise, the division of the vertical operating rails into three groups and the entanglement of the output wires from one selection rail to another would result in a complete solution when changing from one group to another. However, this solution would require more complicated control.
The invention can take various forms. For example, the assignment of the various selector rails and shift rails, as written, could be replaced by a cyclic interlacing so that each selector rail is assigned to the next and that the 14th selector rail is connected to the first. Likewise, the number of vertical operating rails in each group need not necessarily be the same, and there may be more than two groups, although the two group arrangement is the simplest.
The arrangement according to FIG. 2, in which a change is made to a different set of vertical actuation rails after each choice, need not be strictly adhered to. A step-down device V / W can also be used to control whether the relay V is to be actuated or not, this instead of e1, which would result in a change in the occupancy of the group of actuation rails.
Likewise, an arrangement can be made in which the actuation rails of a larger group are used first and a limited number of other vertical rails are only put into service when a fault occurs in order to make a choice as to which vertical rails in normal group pen used. If, on the other hand, it seems desirable to distribute the traffic to two groups that are as similar as possible, the control of the state of relay V in addition to the control by relay X can be carried out in such a way that relay V indicates the group which has the lower number includes actuated vertical rails. In other words, this would mean that the fall of the actuated vertical rail would be taken into account.
In other words, such an arrangement for determining in which group would be found can be provided with counters, the status of which can be compared with analogous arrangements which emit potentials which are dependent on the actuated vertical rails , e.g.
B. that each vertical rail uses a resistor with earth or battery, depending on whether it is operated or not operated, the other ends of these resistors are grouped together by rails and with a unidirectional device between the two common points are connected.
The invention is in no way limited to the exemplary embodiments described, but rather it can be evaluated in other ways by the person skilled in the art.
