In den Quadranten I und Wist eine Über regung und in den beiden anderen Quadranten 1I und III eine Unterregung gegeben. Bei dem beispielsweise angegebenen Verhältnis von J,;

Underexcitation protection for synchronous machines To operate synchronous machines, a certain excitation is necessary for each operating state in order to enable stable operation. This excitation is determined for each machine by the corresponding diagram, as it is for a specific case in Figure 1 for a turbo generator, d. H. a full pole machine, is shown.
The specified sizes are, as usual, related sizes. The circle 1 represents the geometric location for the nominal stator current. Its center point is the zero point of the right-angled coordinate system in which the active load in MW is applied on the ordinate upwards and the active motor load downwards. On the abscissa the inductive reactive load is plotted to the right and the capacitive reactive load to the left in MVAr.
In quadrants I and W there is over excitation and in the other two quadrants 1I and III there is under excitation. With the ratio of J 1 given as an example;
./J "= 1 / Xd = 0.6, the center point for circle 2 is placed on the left part of the abscissa, which represents the geometric location of the nominal load excitation current Jer,. J," means the excitation current which is used for Excitation of the nominal voltage at no-load is necessary and J "represents the nominal value of the stator current, while X" represents the synchronous reactance (saturation neglected).
For a machine with J,;, / J "= 0.6, the point 0.6 runs parallel to the ordinate: the theoretical static stability characteristic 3, which corresponds to a rotor angle of 8 = 90.
The practical static stability characteristic 4 is located away from the straight line 3 in the sense of a smaller permissible rotor angle 8, which is a mirror image of the abscissa and has a curved course in the central zone.
It takes into account all reactances between the machine and the network assumed to be rigid, for example the reactances of transformers and supply lines. In addition, the dynamic stability characteristic 5 is also given, which also goes through point 0.6.
The transient quantities are decisive for the dynamic stability curve. What these stability characteristics have in common is that they always assign a specific capacitive reactive load to a specific active load, which under the corresponding operating conditions still results in stable operation of the machine.
The subject of the invention is an underexcitation protection for synchronous machines, which enables the exceeding of a ratio of reactive to active load established by the stability characteristics to be detected and either a message to be given or the machine to be switched off.
In the event that the machine is operated as a phase shifter, the exceeding of a certain capacitive reactive load applies analogously as the criterion for issuing the message or switching off the machine.
It is known to use reactive power relays or impedance relays depending on electrical stator sizes, or current decrease relays or quotient relays depending on electrical rotor sizes for underexcitation protection.
Since reactive power relays have a straight characteristic that runs parallel to the ordinate in FIG. 1 and the impedance relays have a circular characteristic in the capacitive sector, the reactive load required for a specific active load cannot be recorded in every case.
The arrangement of a current decrease relay in the excitation circuit of the synchronous machine results in proper operation when the machine is not excited, under-excited or negatively excited. With such an arrangement, only a certain underexcitation limit can be set, before which the excitation related to the active load can already be inadmissibly low.
Even the use of a quotient relay in the excitation circuit does not provide reliable protection for all cases, since the quotient relay is dependent on current and voltage and therefore only responds when the excitation circuit is interrupted. However, it does not respond when the excitation z. B. falls by round fire at the anchor of the main exciter. Furthermore, it does not allow a distinction to be made as to whether or not the machine is under-excited at the specific active load.
The object of the invention is to enable underexcitation protection that, for all possible operating cases, in the event of underexcitation, the respective permissible ratio of reactive to active load or
in the case of phase shifters the reactive load alone, safely recorded and the organs dependent on it operated. This is achieved in a simple manner according to the invention in that a mixed impedance relay, which is influenced by the current and voltage of the stator and whose response characteristic is adapted to the stability characteristics of the synchronous machine, optionally interacts with one of the electrical variables of the relay control circuit of the synchronous machine or
Exciter machine operated member and / or a time delay, at least one reporting, control and / or regulating circuit operated. With the mixed impedance relay it is possible to obtain a response characteristic in the form of a conic section in the manner specified below, and to lay it in this way and:. to change their shape so that the best possible adaptation to one of the stability characteristics mentioned can be achieved.
In FIG. 1, the corresponding relay characteristics are denoted by 6, 7 and 8. The characteristic curve 6 represents a hyperbola, the asymptotes of which coincide with the legs of the stability characteristic curve 4. The hyperbola lies symmetrically to the abscissa and its asymptote encloses the angle a with it. The core line 7 is adapted to the stability characteristic 3 and the characteristic 8 is adapted to the dynamic stability characteristic 5. Instead of the hyperbolae, the characteristic lines can also be ellipses, circles or straight lines.
The arrangement according to the invention can advantageously be made so that the mixed impedance relay when the set relay response characteristic curve is exceeded automatically in its current and / or voltage circuit, such. B. resistors, chokes, capacitors, changed so that it is closer to the dynamic stability characteristic or is best adapted to this.
In this case, the mixed impedance relay can expediently issue a message, for example, when the first relay characteristic is exceeded. When exceeding the resulting circuit by the order second Relaiskenuliniie can then z. B. shutdown of the machine can be initiated.
This shutdown can be influenced by the electrical parameters of the rotor and a time delay. The speed of the increase in the measured variable of the mixed impedance relay after the first relay characteristic has been exceeded can also serve as a criterion for reporting, switching off or other measures that can suitably influence the machine.
Either the absolute values of voltage and / or current in the excitation circuit, their increase in a certain time and / or their temporal differential quotients are to be used for the electrical variables in the excitation circuit of the machine.
The automatic voltage regulator to influence the underexcitation protection can also be used according to the invention. For this purpose, the signaling, control and / or regulating circuits of the underexcitation protection are appropriately set depending on the input and / or output variables of the voltage regulator. By using a corresponding controller, the machine can be driven up to the dynamic stability characteristic. When the machine hatches, either only a message can be issued or the machine can be switched off.
With the embodiment of the object according to the invention shown in FIG. 2, the characteristic lines mentioned can be obtained or adjusted in a simple manner. The automatic changeover of the characteristics is not shown here for reasons of clarity.
When operating within the static stability range, a hyperbola symmetrical to the abscissa is selected as the response characteristic because it can be adapted particularly well to the practical static stability characteristic, which has the same profile in the generator and motor areas of the machine. This is particularly important for machines that are run in both operating states, as is the case, for example, with pumped storage machines.
By twisting the hyperbola, a good adaptation to the dynamic stability characteristic is achieved. Operation of the machine between the static and dynamic limit characteristic of FIG. 1 can be appropriate and permissible if it is ensured that the dynamic stability characteristic is exceeded by using fast-working control devices that are influenced by the pole wheel angle. inie is avoided.
The mixed impedance relay has three rectifiers G1, G2 and G3, of which the latter two operate in parallel and are connected in anti-parallel to the rectifier G1. A relay winding Z and a capacitor C are connected in parallel to the rectifiers mentioned. The rectifier G1 is from the secondary side of a converter Tr. fed, the three primary windings a, b and c has.
The rectifier G #. is connected to the secondary side of a converter Trz, which also has three primary windings, of which the first primary windings consist of two partial windings d and c, while the other two windings f and g are in one piece.
The third rectifier G3 is connected to the secondary side of a third converter Tr ″, which has only a single primary winding h. The primary winding a has a midpoint tap which is connected to one end of the secondary winding of the transformer Tr, the primary side is fed by the stator current J.
The other end of this secondary winding is connected on the one hand to one end of winding a via a capacitor C2 and high-rise resistor W5 and the partial winding e and on the other hand via a high-speed resistor W and the other partial winding d is connected to the other end of winding a.
The currents through the resistor and capacitor beginning with J. and J, are in opposite directions in the two halves of the winding a and also in the two partial windings d and c.
By adjusting the

In it: 1 means a quantity that defines the distance of the hyperbola vertex from the coordinate origin, the character jcy means a phase rotation of the current against the voltage by the angle @, a is the distance from the vertex of the hyperbola to the intersection of the hyperbolic symptoms (selected in the exemplary embodiment 0.6).
With regard to FIG. 2, it can be seen that the rectifier G, the quantity Rh, the rectifier G. the quantity R2 and the rectifier G3 the quantity 2A. With the steep resistance W2 the value of (X + a) and with the steep resistance W3 the value of -

to be changed.
When the machine vector exceeds characteristic curve 6 (or characteristic curves 7 or 8), the response relay Z closes its normally open contact z2 (FIG. 3). The characteristic curve can be rotated for variables W1, W5 and C2.
A second transformer Tr5 is connected on the primary side to the stator star voltage U X, which has various taps to adjust current and voltage.
The transformer Tr5 is connected in economy circuit and on the secondary side feeds the winding h via an adjustable calibration resistor W4.
In series with the steep resistance W2, the windings b and f are connected to the secondary voltage, while the windings c and <B> g </B> are connected in series via a steep resistance W3 to the secondary winding.
In FIG. 4, a part of FIG. 1 is drawn out enlarged; the same parts again have the same reference symbols.
FIG. 4 shows that the values required for a conic section can be simulated by the mixed impedance relay.
For example, the equation of the hyperbola is given by: and thus actuates a warning or signaling circuit. The machines are not yet switched off because the vector can swing out to the dynamic characteristic curve and return to the stable range.
If, however, at the same time as the set response characteristic is exceeded, the voltage EA at the armature of the exciter machine does not show a certain minimum value after a certain time, then the machine is disconnected from the mains. For this purpose, a voltage relay SR is connected to the armature voltage EA via a resistor W5 according to FIG.
A rest contact sr is in series with a working constants z ,. of the relay Z in the circuit of a delayed response relay T at an external voltage U =.
When relay Z has responded and relay SR has closed its normally closed contact, timing relay T is energized. If the described state lasts for a certain time, the contact t closes a tripping circuit to switch off the machine.
In order to avoid incorrect response of the protective device in underexcited operation - which is only possible with an automatic voltage regulator - the time dependency is necessary. If the pole wheel starts to tilt, the voltage regulator is excited by the voltage drop at the pre-reactances and immediately increases the excitation. As a result, the contact sr opens and tripping does not occur.
However, if there is a fault in the excitation circuit, the contact sr remains closed. The relay T responds after its response delay has elapsed and closes the tripping circuit through the normally open contact t.
The signaling circuit or the excitation circuit for the relay T, or both, can be switched individually or together with the excitation circuit parameters.
The switching of the relay characteristics could be made by changing one or more of the resistors W1 to WS, if necessary, changing the capacitance C2.
A current relay can also be provided on the Stehle of the Realis SR, which is made dependent on the exciter current of the energizing machine. If necessary, a current relay can also be arranged in the excitation circuit of the synchronous machine.
By changing the connection, the mixed impedance relay can also have an ellipse or a shifted circle or straight line as the response characteristic, which can be adapted to the respective characteristic curves in the operating range in question with a good approximation. If necessary, mixed impedance relays that are constructed differently can also be provided which contain, for example, transistors, tunnel diodes or other electronic switching means.
