Hollow bodies, processes for their production and blow molds for carrying out this process
The invention relates to completely or partially closed hollow bodies produced from a plastic tube in a blow molding process, in which at least one side has a thickening that protrudes slightly outwards and possibly slightly inwards beyond the contour of the body and which enters an opening Receives fasteners. The thickening can be designed in the form of a pin.
Hollow bodies made of plastic, which are completely or partially closed, are known for a wide variety of uses, which in most cases are produced by injection molding or vacuum deep drawing. In particular, such hollow bodies that are still to be equipped with hooks, eyes, fittings or the like made of material external to the container could previously only be produced essentially by the injection molding process.
On the other hand, containers are often produced in a blow molding process using tubular starting material. Up to now, however, it was not possible to attach any parts such as hooks, eyes, fittings or the like made of material external to the container, but, as already mentioned, one was always dependent on the injection molding process, which is known to work with very high pressures and requires expensive tools .
With the invention it has become possible to attach parts such as hooks, eyes, fittings or the like in a simple manner in the container wall to completely or partially closed hollow bodies made of plastic, which are produced by the blow molding process using tubular starting material. The threaded portion of a hook or the like is seated in the opening of the tubular pin, i.e. H. it is pressed into the inner wall of the pipe opening when it is inserted and thus forms a perfect fit so that the part can transfer the forces that occur in practice in any case.
In a special embodiment, the closed hollow body is designed in the shape of a clothes hanger, the fastening pin being located on the upper edge of the hanger. Of course, a peg can also be located opposite this peg on the lower edge, so that a special hook can be inserted into both pegs from one side.
The use of a clothes hanger is of course only given as an example.
A wide variety of closed or open hollow bodies can be provided with a thickening or a pin for any purpose so that any fitting can be attached to it.
The invention also relates to a method for producing the hollow body and to a blow mold for carrying out the method.
In the drawing, embodiments of the invention are shown, namely show:
1 shows a section of a hollow body made of plastic with the fastening means according to the invention,
FIG. 2 shows a detail from the illustration of FIG. 1 with the threaded bolt inserted,
3 shows a section from a clothes hanger which, according to the invention, is designed as a hollow body,
4 shows a section from a half-open container, in the edge area of which a thickening according to the invention is applied,
5 shows a plan view of the inside of one half of the blow mold according to the invention,
6 shows a section through the blow mold along the line VI-VI in FIG. 5,
FIG. 7 shows a section through the blow mold along the line VII-VII in FIG. 5.
The plastic container 1 produced in the blowing process using tubular starting material contains on one side a bulge of the plastic skin in the form of a pin 2, which has the opening 3, which of course can be attached by any means after the production of the object. According to FIG. 2, a fastening means, for example a threaded bolt 4, is screwed into the opening, the threads of the bolt not cutting into the material, but the inner surface of the opening being deformed so that it wraps around the threads and between them and inserts and thus a perfect fit is achieved, which is equal to all forces occurring.
On the inwardly directed side of the pin, in the example of FIG. 2, a thickening 5 is also provided, whereby the seating surface for the bolt can be enlarged or the pin can be kept small.
It is thereby achieved that a thickening, a pin 2 or the like can be attached to at least one side of any hollow body, which protrudes slightly outwards and slightly inwards, in such a way that a closed accumulation of material arises at this point, in which at the same time or an opening can be made subsequently, which receives a fitting, a fastening means or the like. Instead of this part to be inserted into the opening being provided with a thread, it can also have completely or partially circumferential transverse grooves.
4 shows a section of any open container in which the thickening 2 is provided in the area of the container edge 6.
In Fig. 3, the hollow body is designed as a clothes hanger 6, in which the pin 2 is attached to the upper edge of the hanger. As this embodiment shows, a thickening extending somewhat into the cavity is provided in the area of the pin, namely on the inside, so that the length of the pin protruding beyond the outline of the bracket can be kept very short. The usual metal hook 7, which is inserted according to FIG. 2, sits in the pin 2. As indicated in this position, the hook can also go as far as the lower edge 8 of the bracket 5 and also sit here in a tubular pin 2a in the plastic skin, as indicated in dashed lines.
5-7, a blow mold half is shown in various representations, with which it is possible to produce the objects described above. The main parts of the blow mold are designed as usual, only in the area in which the thickening or the peg is to be created in the material of the blow tube is a wedge-shaped pocket 9 that protrudes over the circumference of the mold and that may extend outwards, as it is can be seen in Fig. 5, widened in a fan shape.
If, when the mold is closed, the hose material reaches the area of this pocket, which is attached to both mold halves, it is pressed downwards in the direction of the arrow according to FIG. 7, so that when the mold halves are brought closer together until they close, the desired thickening in the Has formed way that it not only protrudes slightly upwards, but, as can be seen in particular in Fig. 2, also downwards over the contour and thus enough meat is available to attach a thin body made of tubing material to attach.
