Fig. 1 zeigt das erste Ausführungsbeispiel im Grundriss.
Fig. 3 zeigt das zweite Ausführungsbeispiel im Grundriss.
Device for influencing the deflection characteristics of moving coil instruments
In the known devices for influencing the deflection characteristics of moving coil instruments for automatic diaphragm regulators built into recording cameras, the adaptation of the deflection characteristics of the moving coil instrument to the specified movement characteristics of the movable diaphragm elements causes difficulties, especially with regard to achieving the small angular differences around which the diaphragm elements are set the small aperture must be rotated.
To overcome these difficulties, arrangements have already become known, for example, in which the moving coil moves with increasing current supplied by the photo element in the direction of decreasing magnetic field strength. But even with this measure, it is often not possible to sufficiently reduce the deflections of the moving coil in the case of relatively strong currents. The use of such an inhomogeneous magnetic field also has the disadvantage that with large deflections of the rotating coil there is a less stable equilibrium, so that small balance errors cause a relatively large angle error. This then leads to relatively large diaphragm errors precisely in the deflection area assigned to large brightnesses as a result of the already small aperture differences of the diaphragm.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided in that the device has a correction magnet rigidly connected to the moving coil and at least one counter-magnet which cooperates with this and is fixed to the housing.
As a result, the deflection characteristics of a moving-coil instrument can be influenced to a large extent without adversely affecting the display accuracy.
The device according to the invention is not limited to use in diaphragm controls, but can also be used, for example, in exposure meters for cameras with automatic shutter speed and aperture control or manual exposure meters.
The drawing shows exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention for an automatic diaphragm regulator built into a recording camera.
Fig. 1 shows the first embodiment in plan.
FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows the second embodiment in plan.
FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3.
5 to 8 show schematic representations of one variant each.
9 shows a diagram of the movement conditions of the moving coil as a function of the measured brightness.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, a rotating coil 3 is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis 4 on a magnetic return ring 1 by means of bearing screws 2. The ring list on a carrier 5 rigidly with a core magnet 6 a related party. On the moving coil 3 attack in the usual way on the drawing, not shown return springs, which have the tendency to hold the moving coil against the direction of arrow a in the zero position shown in Fig. 1, in which the coil 3 is de-energized.
A two-armed diaphragm lamella 7 is rigidly connected to the axis 4 of the rotating coil 3. This has at one end in the area of the objective 8 indicated by dashed lines an approximately triangular aperture surface delimiting incision 9. At the opposite end of the diaphragm lamella sits a rod-shaped support 10, the tip of which cooperates with a corresponding diaphragm value scale (not shown) to indicate the diaphragm opening that has been set.
In addition to the diaphragm lamella 7, a further diaphragm lamella 12 is mounted rotatably about an axis 11 arranged next to the axis 2. A lever 13, which is rigidly seated on the axis 4 and engages in a curved guide 14 connected to the diaphragm lamella 12, serves to drive the diaphragm lamella 12.
A correction magnet 15 is seated on the carrier 10.
A counter magnet 17 or 18 is arranged on both ends of the deflection area of the correction magnet 15 arranged on the carrier 10 on a plate 16 that also carries the return ring 1.
The counter magnets 17, 18 have approximately the same distances from the axis 4 as the correction magnet 15. The correction magnet 15 and the carrier 10 can also serve as counterweights for the diaphragm lamella 7.
The counter magnets 17 and 18 are each attached to a holder 19 and 20, respectively. Each holder is adjustably fastened to the board 16 by means of three screws 21 and 22, respectively. For this purpose, the screws according to FIG. 2 have conical heads on which the side edges of the holders 19, 20, which are beveled corresponding to the heads, rest in such a way that the holders 19 and 20 and thus the counter magnets 17 by mutually tightening or loosening the screws , 18 are displaceable in or against the direction of arrows b and c.
The correction magnet 15 is magnetized, for example, in such a way that its north pole faces the axis 4. In the indicated direction of magnetization of the correction magnet 15, the magnets 17, 18 are likewise arranged such that their north poles face the axis 4.
In the rest position according to FIG. 1, the magnets 17, 18 exert forces on the correction magnet 15 of the same size but in opposite directions.
If a current supplied by a photocell (not shown) flows through the rotating coil 3, the strength of which depends on the brightness, the rotating coil 3 rotates in the direction of arrow a, overcoming the force of the return springs. Here, the correction magnet 15 progressively moves further out of the field of the counter magnet 18 and into the field of the counter magnet 17. Since this endeavors to repel the correction magnet 15, a force opposite to the direction of rotation is exerted on the correction magnet and thus on the carrier 10 and the rotating coil 3.
The magnitude of this force, which is always significantly smaller than the adjusting force exerted on the rotating coil in the direction of the arrow, increases continuously as the correction magnet 15 approaches the counter magnet 17. As a result of this repulsive effect of the counter magnet 17, the moving coil 3 is braked in the deflection range associated with high brightnesses, so that the rotation angles of the coil 3 associated with the same changes in brightness are smaller than in conventional moving coil devices. An adaptation of the characteristics of the moving-coil instrument to the required characteristics of the diaphragm can therefore be achieved over a larger brightness range.
The counter magnet 18 eliminates the influence of the counter magnet 17 in the position in which no current flows through the coil 3, so that the moving coil is in the same zero position despite the force exerted on the correction magnet 15 that it would assume if no correction and counter magnets would be provided.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, a moving coil instrument with an external magnet 25 is provided. This has two pole shoes 26, 27, between which a rotary coil 29 is rotatably mounted about an axis 28. A diaphragm blade 30 is seated on the axis 28 and protrudes into the beam path of an objective 31.
A rod-shaped carrier 32 is again rigidly connected to the diaphragm lamella 30 or consists of one piece. A holder 33 for a correction magnet 34 is placed on the rod-shaped carrier 32 so as to be difficult to move. In this exemplary embodiment, the counter magnet for the correction magnet 34 is formed by an extension 27a of the pole piece 28. The arrangement is such that the extension 27a forms a north pole, for example. The correction magnet 34 is then magnetized in such a way that its north pole faces the extension 27a of the pole piece 27.
If the photocell connected to the rotating coil 29 supplies current as a result of the incidence of light, the rotating coil 29 is rotated in the direction of the arrow d and thereby takes the diaphragm lamella 30 and the carrier 32 with it. The correction magnet therefore moves in the direction of the extension 27a of the pole piece 27. The further the correction magnet 34 is guided into the field of the extension 27a forming the counter magnet, the greater the force which tends to move the correction magnet 34 against the direction of arrow d. As a result of this measure, the deflection angle of the moving coil is again continuously reduced from light value to light value in the end of the deflection area associated with high brightnesses.
By moving the holder 33 and thus the correction magnet 34 on the carrier 32 in or against the direction of the arrow e, it is possible to adjust the magnet 34 and thereby increase the force acting between the magnet 34 and the extension 27a of the pole piece 27 influence.
In the variant according to FIG. 5, the deflections of the moving coil can also be influenced in the end of the deflection area associated with high brightnesses. For this purpose, a correction magnet 35 is placed on the carrier 10, which can pivot about the axis 4, and which again works together with a fixed counter magnet 36. The two magnets 35, 36 are magnetized here in such a way that the same poles, that is, for example, as indicated in the drawing, the north poles, face one another. The direction in which the carrier 10 and thus the moving coil adjust with increasing brightness is indicated by the arrow S. When the moving coil and thus the correction magnet 35 are rotated, the deflections from light value to light value of the moving coil are greatly reduced when the correction magnet 35 approaches the counter magnet 36.
The variant according to FIG. 6 shows a structure similar to that provided in FIG. Here, a correction magnet 37 is again arranged on the carrier 10. The direction of rotation of the carrier 10 from its zero position is again indicated by the arrow f. The correction magnet 37 and a counter magnet 38, which is provided at the end of the deflection area associated with high brightnesses, are arranged in such a way that they face the same poles, for example the south pole, of the axis 4. In contrast, a second counter magnet 39, which is located at the end of the deflection area associated with the low brightness, is reversely magnetized and arranged so that the correction magnet 37 rests against this magnet in the zero position in which the coil is de-energized.
This measure ensures that, in addition to shortening the angle of rotation of the moving coil, when the brightness is high, the characteristics of the instrument become steeper in the initial area, so that the lamellar movement required in this area can be achieved without using other measures to influence the moving coil characteristics.
In the variant according to FIG. 7, a correction magnet 40, which works together with a fixed counter magnet 41, is again attached to the carrier 10. The counter magnet is arranged outside the pivoting path indicated by dashed lines and at the end of the stop area of the correction magnet 40. The magnetization direction of the magnets 40, 41 is selected such that the same poles of the magnets 40, 41, for example the north poles N, face one another. Since the magnets 40, 41 are here arranged at unequal radial distances from the axis of rotation 4, their unequal poles face the axis 4. In this variant, the shortening of the deflections of the moving coil when it is rotated in the direction of arrow f is less than in the previously described embodiments. The crowding of the deflection area of the moving coil is therefore less with high light values.
In the variants according to FIGS. 5 and 7, effective counter magnets can also be provided at the start of the deflection area.
In the variant according to FIG. 8, a correction magnet 42 and two counter magnets 43 and 43 which are assigned to the two ends of the deflection area of the magnet 42 mounted on the carrier 10 are provided.
44 are provided, which consist of oxide magnets whose dimensions in the direction of magnetization are smaller than at right angles to this. The magnetization direction of the magnets is again selected so that the magnets 42 and 43 or 42 and 44 face each other with the same poles. Each of the magnets 43 and 44 therefore exerts a repulsive force on the correction magnet. In this way, on the one hand, a stable zero position of the rotary coil is ensured and, on the other hand, when the carrier 10 is pivoted in the direction of arrow f, a similar effect is achieved as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1.
The diagram according to FIG. 9 shows the dependence of the angle of rotation of the rotating coils of various exposure meters on the strength of the light falling on the photo element. The light intensity is plotted both in lux and in light values, based on a film speed of 180 DIN, on the abscissa, while the angle of rotation of the spool is plotted in degrees on the ordinate. Curve I shows the characteristics of a conventional, known moving coil instrument for automatic diaphragm controls, in which the deflection characteristic is corrected by the shape of the pole pieces. Curve II shows the effect of a correction magnet which only works together with a counter magnet provided at the end of the stop area associated with the high brightness.
The curve III shows the additional influence of the moving coil characteristic by a further attracting counter magnet, for example arranged according to FIG. 6.
