Der Zweck der Erfindung besteht darin, eine ver besserte Fadenspanneinrichtung für Nähmaschinen zu schaffen, bei welcher das Reinigen oder Aus wechseln der Spannscheiben erleichtert wird. Dieser Zweck ist gemäss der Erfindung erreicht worden durch eine in der Mitte der Öffnung angeordnete Stange, deren innerer - Endteil in dem Gehäuse in einer Wandung der Öffnung gelagert ist und deren gegenüberliegender Endteil frei endigt;
Sewing machine with thread tensioning device The invention relates to a sewing machine with a housing with a thread tensioning device receiving opening.
The purpose of the invention is to provide an improved thread tensioning device for sewing machines, in which the cleaning or changing of the tensioning disks is facilitated. This purpose has been achieved according to the invention by a rod arranged in the middle of the opening, the inner end part of which is mounted in the housing in a wall of the opening and the opposite end part of which ends freely;
by a sliding part arranged on the rod for displacement in the longitudinal direction, also by opposing clamping disks arranged on the rod outside the sliding part and a head at the free end of the rod outside the clamping disks to hold the clamping disks on the rod and to enable rotation of the rod, the head being removably arranged and releasable on the free end of the rod, whereby the clamping disks can be removed from the rod when the head is removed, as well as by a spring device acting on the sliding part,
in order to push the sliding part outwards and thereby press the tensioning disks against the head in order to apply tension to the thread running between the tensioning disks, and also by means which respond when the rod is rotated to change the compressive force of the spring device and thereby adjust the force on the clamping disks, and by means of pulling back the sliding part out of engagement with the clamping disks against the action of the spring to cancel the force on the clamping disks.
In the drawing, two embodiments of the invention are introduced, for example, to illustrate. Fig. 1 is a partial side view of the head part of a sewing machine and shows the position of the thread tensioning direction again.
FIG. 2 is a vertical cross section taken along line 2-2 of FIG. 1.
FIG. 3 is a partial sectional view taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 is an exploded diagrammatic view of the Spannein shown in Fig. 1 direction. .
Fig. 5 is a vertical sectional view similar to Fig.2, but shows a modified Ausfüh approximately form of the invention.
FIG. 6, similar to FIG. 4, is an exploded perspective view of the parts of the modified embodiment of the clamping device shown in FIG.
In the drawings, part of the housing of a sewing machine or in particular the head 1 of a sewing machine is shown. In the upper part of the head 1 there is a projection 2 in which a recess 3 is formed, which extends from the front wall of the head 1 inwards and thus forms an opening in the housing. A rod 4 is arranged in the middle of the recess 3 and is mounted in a bore 5 which is provided in an end wall 6 which determines the rear wall of the recess 3.
In order to hold the rod 4 against longitudinal movement and to create a frictional resistance to rotation so that it is held in a desired setting, the rod 4 is provided with a shoulder 7 for engaging the inner surface of the end wall 6, and they is surrounded within the head 1 by a helical spring 8 which works between the outer surface of the end wall 6 and the head of a screw 9 which is screwed into the end of the rod 4. The rod 4 is pressed inwards in this way in order to keep the shoulder 7 in engagement with the surface of the end wall 6.
At the free end of the rod 4, a head 10 is arranged outside the Ma machine head 1, which serves as a button or as a finger piece for making a rotary movement of the rod 4 by hand. The head 10 is fastened to the rod 4 by an adjusting screw 11. Inside the head 10, a bush 12 is arranged on the rod 4, which has a flange at the end adjacent to the head 10, which is a shoulder or an abutment 13 be true (Figure 4). Between the head 10 and the end of the socket 12, a cup-shaped plate 14 is interposed. The plate 14 has a central opening 15 for placing it on the rod 4 and a pin 16,
which is received in a bore 17 in the head 10 in order to lock the plate 14 on the head 10 for rotation. A Fa denwächter 18 is arranged on the rod 4 inwardly of the plate 14 and has an arm 19 which can enter an opening in the head 1 to secure the guard 18 against rotation. The school ter 13 serves as a stop for a limited downward movement of the thread monitor 18 on the socket 12. To limit the rotational movement of the rod 4 to one revolution, the thread monitor 18 has a projection 20 which is arranged in the path of a projection 21 on the plate 14 .
Within the recess 3, the rod 4 is provided with a threaded part 22 onto which an adjusting nut 23 is screwed. The Stellmut ter 23 is provided with a pair of diametrically arranged, laterally extending lugs 24 which are accommodated within longitudinally extending slots 25 which wall 26 of a cylinder 27 are formed in the cylindrical side. The cylinder 27 surrounds the adjusting nut 23 and is arranged in the recess 3 for a displacement movement in the longitudinal direction.
The socket 12 is arranged on the rod 4 outside the adjusting nut 23 and lies at its inner end against a shoulder 28 at the end of the threaded part 22. On the socket 12, a sliding part 29 is arranged in the form of a socket for a longitudinal displacement movement , which has a side flange 30. A compression spring 31 is wound around the rod 4 between the adjusting nut 23 and the socket 29 and works against the adjusting nut 23 to press the socket 29 outward.
Between the outer end of the socket 29 and the thread monitor 18, a pair of oppositely directed tensioning disks 32 is arranged on the rod 4, between which a thread front end can be arranged so that a tension is applied to the thread when it is pulled through the tensioning device becomes.
A compressive force is applied to the tension disks 32 by the spring 31, which, since it works through the adjusting nut 23 and through the bushing 29, the disks 32 outwards against the thread monitor 18 and consequently against the shoulder 13 on the bushing 12 , the display plate 14 and the head 10 pushes.
\ The cylinder 27 is held against rotational movement by a vertically arranged tension release lever 33, which is arranged on the front of the head 1 directly below the clamping device and which between its ends in the head 1 on an axis perpendicular to the axis of the rod 4 by a Head screw 34 is pivotably mounted. The tension release lever 33 has an upwardly extending arm 35, the upper end of which enters an opening 36 in the side wall 26 of the cylinder 27.
Therefore, when the rod 4 is rotated by gripping the head 10, the adjusting nut 23, which is held against rotational movement by the engagement of the lugs 24 with the slots 25, ver causes to be in the axial direction of the rod 4 to be To change the compressive force of the spring 31 and thereby adjust the tension applied to the thread drawn between the discs 32.
In order to release the tension on the thread, the force is removed from the tensioning disks 32 by pulling the bushing 29 out of engagement with the disks 32 against the action of the spring 31. This is done by the cylinder 27, which is provided with an inwardly directed flange 37 which extends inwardly against the bushing 29 and ends near the circumference of the bushing 29 and outside the flange 30 in a free edge 38. Therefore, when the cylinder 27 is withdrawn into the opening 3, the flange 37 engages the flange 30 and forces the sleeve 29 inwardly away from the tension washers 32.
To retract the cylinder 27, the tension-free release lever 33 has a downward lever arm 39 with which an arm 40 of an angle lever 41 engages, which is pivotably arranged in the head 1 on an axis parallel to the pivot axis of the lever 33 by a head screw 42 is, and which has a second lever arm 43 with which a pin 44 on the pusher fan lever 45 can enter into a handle.
In the usual way, the pusher release lever 45 is pivotably mounted on the back of the head 1 on a pin 46 and works through a slot 47 in the rear wall of the head 1 and has a cam surface 48, which with a collar 49 on the pusher rod 50 can enter into a handle to raise and lower the push rod. The cylinder is pressed by a spring 51 arranged between the housing 1 and the end of the lever arms 39 in its ineffective position, and the ineffective stel ment is determined by a stop lug 52 on the housing 1 with which the end of the lever arms 43 can engage.
The cylinder 27 is therefore not only held against rotation by the He belarm 35, but is also arranged in the longitudinal direction by him in the correct position. The inevitable movement of the cylinder 27 into its inoperative position ensures that the bushing 29 is completely released in order to restore the tension.
During the initial assembly of the clamping device, the rod 4 with the adjusting nut 23 arranged on it is inserted into the recess 3 and into the bore 5 on the front of the machine until the shoulder 7 rests against the wall 6. The spring 8 is then placed on the end of the rod 4 and the screw 9 is screwed onto the rod 4.
The rod 4 is thus held in place lengthways and the bore 5 provides a bearing for the rod 4 and the spring 8 presses the shoulder 7 against the wall 6 at the end of the bore 5 to retract the rod and to prevent the parts from rattling while allowing the rod 4 to be rotated and frictionally held in the desired position. The spring 31 is then guided, after which the bushing 29 and cylinder 27 are placed in place and screwed by fastening the lever 33 in place by the head 34 are set.
The socket 12 with the clamping disks 32 and the guard 18 located on them can then be inserted. Finally, after the cup-shaped plate 14 is arranged on the rod 4, the head 10 is arranged on the rod 4 and the plate 14 is arranged in the longitudinal direction on it by engagement with the end of the bushing 12, which in turn is connected to the shoulder 28 in Engagement occurs and the head 10 is secured on the end of the rod 4 by the set screw 11 to lock the entire assembly. To set the clamping range, the adjusting screw 11 is loosened and the head 10 is rotated relative to the rod 4.
The plate 14, since it is attached to the head 10 by the pin 16 and the bore 17, rotates with the head 10. Therefore, the position of the lug 21 changes to effect an adjustment of the minimum and maximum clamping positions.
After assembly, the clamping discs 32 can easily be removed by loosening the adjusting screw 11 and the head 10 is taken out. The discs 32 can be pushed together with the plates 14 and 18 and the bush 12 from the rod 4 from the front of the machine. The rod 4 itself can also be removed by loosening the screw 9 and sliding it forward through the bushing 29 after it has been unscrewed from the adjusting nut 23. When the rod 4 is removed, the remaining parts in the machine are held in a substantially assembled position. The cylinder 27 is held by the lever 33.
The spring 31 has expanded within the cylinder 27 in order to hold the adjusting nut 23 against the surface of the wall 6 and the bush 29 against the flange 37 of the cylinder 27. The rod 4 can then be inserted through the bushing 29, the adjusting nut 23 and into the bore 5. In FIGS. 5 and 6, a modified embodiment of the invention is shown.
The embodiment of the invention, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, is the same as that of FIGS. 1 to 4, with the exception that the bush 12 of FIGS. 2 and 4 has been omitted Head 10 and plate 14 formed as a single piece and the means for holding rod 4 against moving in the longitudinal direction, i. H. the spring 8 and the screw 9 are modified. Those parts of the clamping device shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 which are the same as the corresponding parts shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 are given the same reference numerals.
With reference to FIGS. 5 and 6, an approach 2a is provided in the head 1, and this approach 2a is rela tively enlarged to the approach 2 and is provided with a slot 66 which forms part of the rod 4a at a point near its inner end exposed. A circumferential groove 67 is provided in the part of the rod 4a exposed by the slot 66. The slot 66 also receives a leaf spring 8a, which is fastened to the top of the extension 2a by a screw 9a which extends through a longitudinal slot 68 in the spring 8a extends.
The leaf spring 8a has a downward arm which at its end has a slot 69 which is smaller in width than the diameter of the rod 4a near the groove 67, but larger than the diameter of the rod 4a at the lower end of the groove 67 . The slot 69 receives the rod 4a, the forked ends of the leaf spring 8a, which are formed by the slot 69, sitting in the groove 67.
The leaf spring 8a is therefore connected to the rod 4a and presses inwards, and presses with the shoulder 7a of the rod 4a against the end wall 6 of the attachment, the longitudinal slot 68 allows adjustment of the force.
On the free end of the rod 4a, a head 70 is arranged, which is preferably made of a thermoplastic material and the button or finger piece 10a for making a Drehbewe movement of the rod 4a by hand and a display-bearing flange 14a, which includes the button 10a is firmly connected. In this way, the head 10 and the plate 14 of the embodiment of the invention described above can be manufactured in a single molding.
Since the bush 12 is no longer available, the rod 4a is provided with a shoulder 71, against which the head 70 rests in order to move it into the correct position in the longitudinal direction of the rod 4a. A second shoulder 72 is provided in order to hold the thread monitor 18 against longitudinal movement on the rod 4a.
During the initial assembly of the clamping device according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the rod 4a is inserted into the bore 5 with the adjusting nut 23 arranged on it. The spring 8a is then inserted to hold the rod 4a against longitudinal movement. The spring 31 is then inserted, whereafter the sleeve 29 and cylinder 27 are placed in place and fixed by the lever 33.
The tension washers 32 and Fadenwäch ter 18 are then placed on the rod 4n, and finally the head 70 is mounted on the end of the rod 4a to lock the entire assembly. When the parts of this embodiment are assembled, the washers 32 can be easily removed by removing the head 70.
It can be seen that the tensioning device is arranged so that it does not interfere with the line of sight, as it would be if it were placed on the lower part of the head as in known designs, and the tensioning device is designed so that the tension washers can be easily removed from the front of the machine.
Much attention has been paid to the correct position of the clamping device. The location of the various other parts of the thread system, such as B. the thread take-up device and the thread tension spring must be such that they accommodate the Spannein direction in this position.
In the machine shown, in order to obtain the desired thread path, while at the same time ensuring a more favorable position of the tensioning device, the tension spring has been separated from the tensioning device. As shown, the tension spring, which is indicated generally at 53, is arranged near the lower end of the head 1. To accommodate the tension spring 53, the head 1 is provided with a shoulder 54 which has an opening in which the shaft 55 of the thread tension spring is arranged, and the shaft 55 in turn is set in an angularly adjustable position by an adjusting screw 56.
The shaft 55 is provided with an enlarged th intermediate part 57 which has a number of longitudinally extending grooves 58 in its circumference. The thread tension spring part 59 is wrapped around the intermediate part 57, and one end of it is anchored ver in one of the selected grooves 58. On the free end of the shaft 55 a spacer 61 is fastened by a screw 60, which has a thread groove 62 and a protective plate 63 which has the usual thread guide and the stop for the free end 64 of the tension spring 53.
With this arrangement of the tension spring 53 a more favorable tension spring effect is obtained, and at the same time a favorable guide for the needle thread is obtained relative to the thread take-up which is indicated at 65 on.
Another point that influences the position of the clamping device is the release of the clamping that must be carried out when the workpiece is to be removed from the machine. The tension release has heretofore been coupled with the trigger release lever for the reason that the tension release is usually only desired at the point in time at which the trigger is lifted, and the trigger release lever provides a simple and effective drive element for the release of the tension.
The pusher release lever is necessarily located on the lower rear part of the head, and the working connections from it to the tensioning device must be taken up within the head without disturbing the other elements located in the head, such as the needle bar, the needle bar crank and the thread take-up.
The present clamping device is arranged and operationally connected to the voltage release device that it meets all of these requirements. The clamping device is arranged on the upper part of the head, where it is not in the line of sight of the operator. By separating the tension spring from the tensioning device, the requirements for handling the thread are met.
The tension release device shown can be driven by the pusher fan lever and is operationally connected to the tensioning device in order to release the tension through connections that do not interfere with the other elements in the head.
