Description

  Plant for processing objects
Until now, separate devices have been used for the various operations to be carried out during the treatment of objects, in particular for the annealing of the material forming the objects and the polymerization of the varnish thereon. This mode of procedure made any automation impossible.

The present invention aims to remedy this drawback and has for object an installation for the treatment of objects making it possible to make these operations automatic.

This installation is characterized in that it comprises an endless conveyor bringing the objects successively into an oven for annealing the material forming the objects, a cooler, at least one varnishing and drying apparatus, a varnish polymerization oven and finally a discharge station for the treated objects, in that the conveyor passes through the lower part of the annealing furnace, the objects which it carries extending above it in the upper part of the furnace where there are arranged bodies of heater, and in that protection means are mounted between the heating bodies and the conveyor to protect the latter against the action of heat radiating in the upper part of the oven.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the installation forming the subject of the present invention.

Fig. 1 is a schematic overview of this installation.

Fig. 2 is an end view of an annealing furnace.

The installation shown in fig. 1 is intended for the treatment of metal tubes 15, of the toothpaste tube type. It could also be suitable for the treatment of any other metallic object or not. This installation comprises an endless conveyor which, in the example shown, is constituted by a chain generally designated 1 and receiving the tubes 15 from an inlet 2 to bring them successively, moving in the direction of arrow 1 ', in a furnace 3 for annealing the metal forming the tubes, a cooler 4, a first varnishing apparatus 5 and drying 6, a second varnishing apparatus 7 and drying 8, a polymerization oven varnish 9 and finally a station 10 for discharging or outputting the treated objects or tubes.

The annealing furnace 3 shown in detail in FIG. 2 comprises an upper part in which are arranged the heating bodies shown schematically at 11 and a lower part in which passes the endless chain 1 as described in Swiss patent No. 347480 of the same holder. This chain 1 comprises trays 12 carrying two rows of pins 13 intended to receive the tubular rods 14 of supports constituted in the example shown by tube-holder baskets 14 'supporting the metal tubes 15 to be annealed. A central baffle 16 is suspended between the rows of baskets 14 'from the central heating body support and extends horizontally all along the oven 3.

Two other side baffles 17 are fixed on brackets 18 bolted to the side walls of the oven and also extend all along the latter. The space between the central baffle 16 and each side baffle 17 is just sufficient to allow the passage of the rods 14.

The baffles 16 and 17 which are arranged between the heating bodies 11 and the chain 1 serve to protect the latter against the action of the heat radiating in the upper part of the oven 3. The upper surfaces of these baffles are polished to reflect the heat upwards as indicated by the vertical arrows in fig. 2.

Instead of two rows of supports or tube-holder baskets, more could be provided, for example three rows with four heating elements.

Thanks to the arrangement in the annealing furnace of the protective baffles, it is possible to pass the chain through this furnace without it being subjected to the high temperature which prevails there and that it could not withstand without being damaged. This therefore makes it possible to pass the metal tubes carried by the chain automatically from one station to another in order to subject them to the various operations described and which the treatment of these tubes involves.

In another application, the installation could include more than one annealing furnace and more than one polymerization furnace.
