<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
Fig. 10 -zeigt eine hierfür geeignete Anordnung.

Tachograph on motor vehicles The invention relates to a tachograph on motor vehicles and aims at a design with which it is possible to register different types of working hours of the drivers.
A tachograph is already known in which the deflections of the vibrating pendulum, which registers the driving and stopping times of the motor vehicle, are different due to stops. can be severely limited in order to identify which of the two drivers who normally worked on a truck was at the wheel at a given time.
It is also already known, in addition to the three pens normally present for the driving speed, the distance covered and the driving and stopping times, to arrange a further pen, which can also be brought into different positions by manual adjustment in order to reduce the working times of the drivers Flag tax.
However, none of these facilities can replace the driver's logbook, which is also mandatory. The labor law stipulates that in addition to the working hours at the wheel, other activities of the drivers must be recorded. This includes the times that are required for work on the vehicle such as washing, changing tires, etc. and which of course have to be paid as working time under labor law. This also includes waiting times and break times that are treated differently according to the tariff.
Waiting times are those periods in which the driver has to wait through no fault of his own, for example to load or unload his vehicle; Break times are the legally prescribed breaks after certain driving times. For example, every driver is entitled to a break after four hours of uninterrupted driving. There may also be breaks when the vehicle is stationary. The known tachographs do not allow all of these processes to be recorded because the diagram disc does not offer enough space to be able to register these additional data in additional writing fields.
It has therefore not previously been possible to dispense with the logbooks prescribed for the drivers, although these are mostly filled out by the drivers only afterwards and then in a way that is most favorable for the drivers.
The invention has therefore set itself the goal of creating a way in the tachograph to register the various working times, the waiting times and the breaks using the tachograph already present in every larger vehicle in the periods in which the vehicle is stopped. is.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the tachograph is equipped with at least one additional writing element which, while the vehicle is in motion, is locked out of contact with the chart and cannot be used, but can be brought into operative position by manual adjustment means when the vehicle is stopped.
The additional writing element, which is in an inoperative position while driving, should not allow the normal work of the other pens that are important for the actual driving operation. hinder. On the other hand, when the vehicle is at a standstill, the usual pens should only have simple circular lines on the edge. record their writing fields, then fill in the unused space of the diagram disc with the records identifying the various types of activity of the drivers.
The additional writing element is preferably arranged in such a way. that it is in the writing field that is otherwise used to record the driving speed
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
takes effect. In order to enable different types of recordings, the additional writing element can be connected to a plurality of manual setting means which influence it differently in such a way that the writing element effects different types of recordings depending on the manual setting means operated.
Mechanical means known per se, for example clockworks with cam disks or the like, can be used to drive this writing element. Electromagnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic means can also be used. It seems best to control the movements of the writing organ by the thermal effect of the electric current.
For example, the writing element can be connected to a hot wire, the circuit of which is periodically opened and closed and thereby brings about an oscillating movement of the writing element. In order to be able to identify different types of activity features, it is advisable to influence the width of the recording, i.e. the deflection angle of the writing lever, in various ways: According to one embodiment of the invention, the lever carrying the writing element is assigned sensing arms at different lever lengths.
Of these sensing arms, which cause the current for the hot wire to be switched on and off periodically at different time intervals, only one of the sensing arms corresponding to the actuated manual adjustment device is live.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the accompanying drawing. 1 shows a circuit diagram of the setting means for two additional pens, FIG. 2 shows a circuit diagram of an embodiment that has been modified from FIG. 1, FIGS. 3 to 6 show various embodiments of the attachment of the setting means for actuating the pens,
7 shows a diagram chart with the recordings produced by these pens, FIGS. 8 and 9 means for bringing the pens into the writing position, and FIG. 10 shows a different type of drive means for the pens.
It is assumed that, in general, in every large truck there are two drivers who take over from one another. A pen should be provided for each of these two drivers, which can be brought into different positions for registering working times, waiting times, breaks and the end of work by means of appropriate manual adjustment members.
In the selected embodiment, the arrangement is such that on the chart disc when waiting:> a relatively wide bar is written by oscillating movements of the pen and a narrower bar is written during work, only a line is recorded when taking a break and the pen is removed from the recording medium at the end of work is lifted. For each of the drivers a control panel with four selectable manual adjustment elements is provided, as shown in FIGS. 3 to 6.
According to FIG. 3, a circuit board 2 protrudes beyond the outer circumference of the tachograph housing 1 and has four push buttons 3 for each driver, to which labels are assigned to identify the driver and his respective activity. In the example, the circuit board 2 with the designations A = working time, W = waiting time, P = break and E - end of work and the digits I and II is provided to identify the driver to whom the corresponding group of push buttons is assigned.
In those cases in which the circuit board according to FIG. 3 cannot be installed in the dashboard of a motor vehicle, the manual setting elements according to FIG. 4 are expediently provided directly in the tachograph housing and equipped with push buttons 4 which protrude through the front glass panel. In this case, too, the individual push buttons and the two groups are of course provided with appropriate labels.
According to FIG. 5, instead of the push buttons, one can also provide a rotary switch 5 and 6 for the two drivers, which have different locking positions corresponding to the individual positions of the pens. The rotary switches and their positions are again marked accordingly. In order to rule out unauthorized use, they can be designed in a known manner so that they can only be actuated with a key.
If there is enough space in the dashboard of the motor vehicle, the manual adjustment means and the associated additional switching means can also be accommodated in a special additional housing 8, which is separate from the tachograph housing, as FIG. 6 shows. The tachograph housing 1 is connected here via a connecting line 7 to the additional housing 8, which contains the switching means for actuating the additional pens arranged in the tachograph housing 1. On the front of the housing 8, two writing plates 9 are arranged, which carry the switch buttons 10 assigned to the two drivers and passing through the writing plates.
In addition, control lamps 11 are arranged in openings in the writing plate. You can also make the push buttons illuminable from the inside so that the last button pressed is illuminated. In this way, the driver can check whether he has pressed the button provided for him without opening the tachograph.
The operation of the setting means will now be explained in more detail with reference to the circuit diagrams according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
In the switching arrangement according to FIG. 1, two switching units A and B are provided for the two drivers, framed by dash-dotted lines. These are the corresponding parts of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Units A and B are provided with the same reference numbers, the only difference being that the parts of unit B are provided with a prime. For the sake of simplicity, only unit A will be described first.
A pen 20, which is attached to an angle lever 21, is provided for one of the drivers. This is pivotable about an axis 26 which is firmly connected to a frame 25 indicated by dash-dotted lines. The upper short arm of the angle lever 21 is connected on the one hand to a hot wire 24, which is attached to the frame 25 and intermittently switched on and off, and on the other hand to a spring 22 which seeks to pivot the angle lever 21 around in a clockwise direction. To the extent that the hot wire 24 expands or
contracts in the event of a power interruption, the lever 21 is pivoted alternately clockwise and counterclockwise.
The frame 25 can be moved to the right by the schematically indicated armature 27 of an electromagnet 28 when energized and thus also moves the lever 21 to the right.
A structural design of this arrangement can be seen from FIG. The writing lever 21, which is rigidly connected to a shaft 30, is located in the housing 29 of the tachograph. This is rotatably mounted in a housing 32 on the bolt 33 and connected to an arm, not shown here, which can be controlled by the hot wire and corresponding switches in the sense of an oscillating rotary movement of the shaft 30 and thus of the pen 21. How this is done will be described later with reference to FIG.
By pivoting the housing 32 and the shaft 30 together, the writing lever 21 can be moved both tangentially to the diagram disc movement and in the direction of the axis of the diagram disc so that it can assume the fully marked effective position and the inactive position shown in dashed lines.
The armature 27 of the electromagnet 28 acts on the housing 32. When the electromagnet 28 is excited, its armature 27 pivots the housing 32 and the shaft 30 in a clockwise direction. The writing lever 21 is here moved from the dashed to the fully marked position by the writing lever 21, which is pressed down with its inclined surface 21a by the fixed pin 29a in the starting position, is pivoted to the right until the inclined surface 21a is out of range of the pin 29a is led out and the writing lever 21 has reached the chart.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 9, the lever 21 carrying the pen 20 is connected in an articulated manner to a carrying lever 36 via pivot levers 34, 35. The left arm of the two-armed pivot lever 34 rests on a plunger 37 which is mounted in a socket 38 in the housing 29 of the tachograph. The drive means for the pen 21 and the lifting magnet 28, the armature of which acts on the plunger 37 in the sense of raising and lowering, are located in the housing 32.
When the plunger 37 is raised, it brings the pen 20 into the inoperative position shown in broken lines, while it brings it into contact with the diagram disc 39 when it is lowered into the fully marked position.
A lamp 40 (FIG. 1) connected in parallel to the coil of the electromagnet 28 shows whether the writing lever 21 is in its active or inactive position.
Two sensing arms 41, 42 serve to periodically switch the circuit for the hot wire 24 on and off. They engage the angle lever 21 at different distances from its axis of rotation 26. They are connected to switching levers 45, 46 via semi-circular curved leaf springs 43, 44, which are arranged isolated in the frame 25. and can be moved together with this by the electromagnet 28.
They carry contacts which, in one position, interact with mating contacts 47, 48 and in the opposite position with a stop 50 or with another contact 51 controlling a control lamp 52. The control lamp 52 emits a flickering light when the arrangement is working, which indicates that the hot wire is working properly.
Four switches serve to selectively influence the writing lever 21, namely a switch 53 for the activity characteristic pause, a switch 54 for the activity characteristic end of work, a switch 55 for the activity characteristic working time and a switch 56 for the activity characteristic waiting time. The switches 53 and 54 each have only one pair of contacts, namely the switch 53 has normally open contacts, while the switch 54 has normally closed contacts. The two switches 55 and 56 each have two pairs of normally closed contacts 73, 74 and 76, 77 and one pair of normally open contacts 75, 78 each.
The two switches 55 and 56 are briefly actuated control switches for two holding relays 57 and 58, each with three pairs of contact springs 59 to 61 and 62 to 64, the holding circuit of which is interrupted when a manual setting element is operated that gives a new control command.
The contact pairs 61 and 62 are used to supply power to the electromagnet 28, the contact pairs 60 and 63 to supply power to the contact springs 47, 48 and thus via the springs 43, 44, the sensing arms 41, 42 and the writing lever 21 to the hot wire 24. Die Contact pairs 59, 64 are holding contacts for the relay coils 57 and 58, the operating status of which is indicated by control lamps 65 and 66. In addition to the two holding relays 57 and 58, another holding relay 67 is provided which has two pairs of contacts, a pair of break contacts 68 and a pair of holding contacts 69.
The starter switch 70 of the motor vehicle actuates an electric magnet in its closed position
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
th 71, which opens a contact 72 and thus interrupts the power supply to the two units A and B. Instead of the starter switch. 70, the ignition switch can also be connected to the switch 71, 72.
The arrangement works as follows: If the switch 55 is pressed for working hours, the relay 57 briefly receives power via the normally closed contacts 77 of the switch 56, the working contacts 75 of the switch 55, the switch 54 and the switch 72. The relay 57 thereby closes the Contact pairs 59, 60, 61. The contact pair 59 thus closes a holding circuit via the holding contact pair 77 of the switch 56_ as well as a circuit to the lamp 65, which indicates the actuation of the switch 55. The electromagnet 28 also receives current via the positive battery, coil 28, contact pair 61 and ground.
As a result, the armature 27 is attracted and the writing lever 21 is brought into the operative position. The contact pair 60 closes the circuit for the hot wire 24, namely from the battery via the reclosed contact pair 73, the contact pair 76, the contact pair 68, the hot wire 24, the writing lever 21, the sensing arm 41, the spring 43, the contact lever 45 , the contact 48 and the contact pair 60 to ground.
The hot wire 24 expands, and consequently the spring 22 pivots the writing lever 21 clockwise. This presses the sensing arm 41 down, and as soon as the tipping point of the spring 43 is reached, the latter pivots the contact lever 45 into the upper end position. He opens the contact 48, switches off the current for the hot wire 24 and switches the lamp 52 on via the contact 51. The hot wire 24, which cools and contracts as a result of being switched off, after some time pulls the writing lever 21 around again in the counterclockwise direction.
The sensing arm 41 following it switches the current for the hot wire back on via the contact 48 when the tipping point of the spring 43 is exceeded in the opposite direction.
The pen 20 attached to the writing lever 21 thus executes an oscillating movement of a certain magnitude as long as no other signal is given. This variable depends on the switching path of the switch lever 45 and on the distance between the sensing arm 41 and the axis of rotation of the writing lever 21. The lamp 52 indicates by flickering that the hot wire is working, while the lamp 65 indicates that the switch 55 has been operated. The lamp 40, which is supplied with current at the same time as the coil 28, indicates that the writing lever is in its operative position.
If the switch 56 is pressed for the waiting time after the switch 55, the contact pair 77 is briefly disconnected so that the holding relay 57 drops out and this opens its contact pairs 59 to 61. At the same time, the holding relay 58 now receives power for a short time via the contact pair 78 and closes its contact pairs 62, 63 and 64. These act very similarly to the contact pairs 59 to 61 of the holding relay. 57.
The lamp 66 is switched on and: the hot wire 22 now receives current via the contact 47 as long as the contact lever 46 touches the contact 47. Because the feeler arm 42 is closer to the axis of rotation 26 of the writing lever 21, the switchover by tilting the contact lever 46 now takes place later than with the feeler arm 41, so that the lever 21 now records a wider bar on the chart.
If the switch 53 is then operated for the activity feature pause, the holding relay 67 receives a short current surge, from the battery via the normally closed contact pair 73 of the switch 55, the normally closed contact pair 76 of the switch 56 to the coil of the relay 67, the switch 53, the Switch 54 and switch 72 to ground. As a result, relay 67 picks up and switches contact pairs 68 and 69. The circuit to the hot wire 24 is interrupted at the contact pair 68, and a holding circuit for the relay 67 is closed at the contact pair 69.
The electromagnet 28 continues to receive current from the battery to the coil via the contact pair 69, switch 54 and switch 72 to ground, so that the pen 20 remains in its operative position. Since, as already mentioned, the hot wire 24 no longer flows through it, the writing lever 21 remains in its angular position, and the pen now records a single line.
If the switch 54 for the end of work or the starter switch 70 is actuated, all previously closed circuits are opened. The writing lever 21 is retracted to its inoperative position and all recording is interrupted.
It is readily apparent that the unit B, which has the parts 20 'to 78', works for the driver II in the same way as the unit A and can be operated completely independently of it, and that it does not matter for the functioning of the arrangement, in which order the switches 53 to 56 or 53 'to 56' are operated. While above the operation of the arrangement according to FIG. 1 with manual adjustment elements in the form of pushbuttons or
Pushbuttons is described, an arrangement with manual adjustment levers in the form of pushbuttons will be described below with the aid of the circuit diagram shown in FIG.
In this arrangement, a rotary switch 80, 80 'is provided for each driver. Each rotary switch has two mechanically coupled contact fingers 81, 82 or 81 ', 82', each of which works with four contacts and notches 83 to 86 or 87 to 90. The contacts 83, 84 and 85 are connected to a coil 91 which, when energized with the aid of its armature 92, can move the frame indicated by dash-dotted lines and thus move a writing lever 93 from its inoperative position to its operative working position. That can be similar to
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
in the arrangement according to FIG. 1 in the manner shown in FIG. 8 or 9.
The upper short arm of the three-armed writing lever 93 is connected on the one hand to a hot wire 94 and on the other hand to a spring 95 which seeks to turn the lever 93 clockwise. Again, this only takes place to the extent that the hot wire 94 expands during the flow of current.
Feeling levers 96, 97 act on writing lever 93 at different distances from the axis of rotation. These are connected to contact levers 100, 101 via semi-circular bent toggle springs 98, 99 and work in their lower,. The position opposite the position shown in FIG. 2 with contacts 102, 103, which are connected to the contacts 87, 88 of the rotary switch 80 via corresponding lines.
In the other end position according to FIG. 2, the contact lever 101 works together with a contact 103a and thus closes the circuit of the lamp 104, while the contact lever 100 hits a stop 105 in the position corresponding to the animal.
In the tachograph housing there is a gearwheel 106 which is rotated in accordance with the speed being driven and, by means of the teeth 109 of the writing carriage 107, moves the carriage with the speed pen 108. When the writing carriage 107 reaches its lower end position, that is to say the position corresponding to the speed 0, it closes a pair of contacts 110. As a result, an electromagnet 111 attracts its armature and closes a contact 112.
The contact pair 110 thus has a similar function again starter switch 70 according to FIG. 1, but with the arrangement according to FIG. 2 the activation takes place automatically depending on the driving speed, with the arrangement according to FIG. 1 it is switched on manually when starting.
The writing lever 93 'for the second driver is, as can be seen from the drawing, arranged and operable in the same way as the writing lever 93 for the driver I. The arrangement according to FIG. 2 works as follows:
The switch 80 is in its extreme right position, in which the contact fingers 81 and 82 touch the contacts 83 and 87. Then the electromagnet 91 is switched on as soon as the contacts are made. 110 and 112 close, that is, as soon as the vehicle is stationary, and he then moves the frame with the writing lever 93 from the inoperative into the operative position. Since the hot wire 94 through which current has not yet flowed is cold, the contact levers 100, 101 touch the associated mating contacts 102, 103.
Via the contact 112, the contact finger 82 ″, the contact 87, the contact 102, the contact lever 100, the toggle spring 98, the sensing arm 96 and the writing lever 93, the hot wire receives current and begins to expand.
The spring 95 can therefore turn the writing lever 9.3 clockwise. The feeler lever 96 follows until the toggle spring 98 jerks the contact lever 100. This interrupts the circuit for the hot wire 94, it contracts and moves the writing lever 93 counter-clockwise until the circuit of the hot wire is closed again by tilting the contact lever 100 back. The writing lever 93 writes a wide bar 114 in this case.
If the rotary switch 80 is turned one step to the left, the contact fingers 81 and 82 touch the contacts 84 @ and 88. The circuit of the electromagnet 9, 1 is maintained, that is, the writing lever also assumes its operative position in this position .
Furthermore, the hot wire 94 is energized via the contact 112, the contact finger 82, the contact 88, the contact 103, the lever 101, the toggle spring 99, the feeler lever 97 and the writing lever 93. Similar to before it is switched on and off periodically, but at shorter time intervals, so that in this case it is switched on. narrow bar 115 is recorded. The two records just described correspond to the activity types working time and waiting time.
If the rotary switch 80 is turned a further step to the left, the contact fingers 81 and 82 come to the contact 85 or to a detent 89. The writing lever remains in its effective position, since the electromagnet 91 continues to carry current. The hot wire 94, on the other hand, is switched off since the latch 89 does not establish an electrical connection. The pen therefore only records one line 116. This registers work breaks in terms of time.
In the extreme left position of the contact fingers 81 and 82, they reach the notches 86 and 90 ″, which do not establish any electrical connections. The writing lever 93 is returned to its inoperative position, since the electromagnet 91 is de-energized corresponds to the end of work.
Above was the. Tachograph described in its use for the registration of different types of working hours of drivers. Of course, it is also suitable for recording other operational data that arise while the vehicle is at a standstill. It is also possible to arrange further control contacts for the hot wire on the writing lever in order to create further recording possibilities.
Instead of the hot wire, you can also use a glow wire. If you coat a disk with a layer of wax of a different color than the paper underneath, and run the heated wire close over this layer of wax, the wax melts and becomes transparent, so that the color of the disk shines through. It. this results in corresponding records.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
Fig. 10 shows an arrangement suitable for this.
Two writing levers 120 are provided for the two drivers, which, like the writing levers in the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2, can be brought into and out of the operative position by electromagnetic means. Guide bushings 121, 122, to which a housing 12-3 is resiliently attached, are inserted into each writing lever 120. An insulating plate 124 with three electrical connection terminals 125, 126, 127 is inserted into the housing 123.
Below the insulating plate 124 are two coiled wires 128, 129 which are connected between the terminals 125, 126 and 126, 127, respectively.
The lower part 130 of the housing 123 has two protruding edges 131a and 131b, which act as writing organs, which are separated from one another by an incision 132 and which, as soon as the writing lever 120 is in the operative position, are located directly above the graph paper.
Terminal 126 is grounded. The terminal 125 is connected via a line 133 to the switch-on means for a type of activity, e.g. B. working hours, while the terminal 127 via a line 134 to the switching means for another type of activity, z. B. waiting time is connected.
When the switching means for working hours is actuated, the then switched-on coil 128 heats the edge 131b, and under this edge the wax layer of the diagram chart is melted, so that a bar chart of the width of the edge 131b is created on it.
When the switching means for waiting time is actuated, the now switched-on coil 129 heats the edge 131a. As a result, a bar of the width of the edge 131a, which is clearly offset laterally in relation to the recording for working hours, is produced on the diagram.
By means of a further switching means, both coils 128 and 129 can be switched on at the same time and thus a double-wide melting strip to identify a third type of activity, for example the break, is obtained.
The diagram chart shown in Fig. 7 shows records as they can be obtained by means of the arrangements described. The types of activities of the drivers recorded on this diagram chart, for example, are listed individually below in the form of a list:
