Fig. <B>1</B> zeigt eine solche bekannte Anordnung.
Arrangement for current limitation in a high-current semiconductor rectifier system High-current semiconductor rectifier systems who are known to be constructed from a large number of individual diodes in a bridge circuit, with each bridge branch being protected against short circuits by means of rapidly responding safeguards. The melting characteristics of the fuses must be adapted to the overload characteristics of the diodes. Fig. 1 shows such a known arrangement.
There are with <B> 1 </B> the semiconductor rectifiers, with 2 the fuses and with <B> <I> U, </I> </B> <I> V, W </I> the three-phase current supply designated. In order to save on fuses, they can be installed in the three-phase supply lines and in one of the direct current branches, as shown in FIG. 2, in which the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals as in FIG. 1 In the case of the most common fault, a diode defect, the devices described work selectively and provide effective system protection.
The circuit according to FIG. 2 can advantageously be provided with a direct current fuse with high switching capacity, which in combination with a choke coil <B> 3 </B> (FIG. 3) </B> limits and disconnects the in the event of a malfunction, it enables reverse currents. If the overcurrents only reach amounts of 3-4 times the normal current, the AC-side switches work so quickly <B> </B> that triggering of the fuses is avoided.
However, if there is a direct busbar short circuit on the DC side, practically all fuses or at least a large part of them would respond. It is now the task of the invention to prevent excessive consumption of security material, even with this, in itself very seldom occurring malfunction. It would be possible, please include a quick-acting switch to simply short-circuit the three-phase current lines to protect the fuses and diodes. Such a measure, however, places much too much strain on the rectifiers as well as the regulating transformers, the switches and the network.
Other known short-circuit current limits cannot be used in the present case either, since they cause strong overvoltages that endanger the diodes.
The deficiencies outlined can be avoided if, according to the invention, there are resistances in the alternating current supply lines of the system or in parts of the same which are bridged by high-speed switching elements in normal operation.
Fig. 4 shows a simplified embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, while Fig. 5 is used to explain the mode of operation.
In FIG. 4, 4 denotes the main switch, <B> 5 </B> Ohmic or inductive current limiting resistors, <B> 6 </B> high-speed switching elements, which via current transformers <B> 7 </B> and Auxiliary rectifier <B> 8 </B> can be actuated by means of any triggering device <B> 9 </B> commonly used for switching purposes.
The regulating transformer <B> 10 </B> is connected to the rails <B> 11 </B>, on which the individual rectifier transformers 12, 121 are also located Diodes <B> 1 </B> feed built-up bridges. The direct current fuse 2a is preceded by a choke coil <B> 3 </B>. <B> 13 </B> are the direct current rails.
The mode of operation of this device will be explained with reference to FIG. 5. There the time in milliseconds is plotted on the abscissa and the current is plotted on the ordinate. The straight line I corresponds to the normal current of the system. The short-circuit current occurring as a result of a fault runs roughly according to curve II. At time t, the high-speed switching elements <B> 6 </B> (FIG. 4) are opened, so that resistors <B> 5 </B> carry the current to the values given by function III.
Curve IV shows the permissible load on the diodes, which roughly corresponds to the melting characteristics of the fuses. Since the system is switched off by the main switch, in particular an oil switch, at time t2, the fuses can be avoided in the event of a diode short-circuit as well as a busbar short-circuit. The time to the switch-off is not very long; therefore the limiting resistors cannot heat up excessively.
In a departure from the exemplary embodiment shown, the switching elements 6 could also be triggered as a function of the increase in current in the system on the DC side. Furthermore, the limiting resistors <B> 5 </B> could be attached directly in front of each individual rectifier transformer 12, 12 '. This means that the three-phase current fuses in front of the rectifier bridges can be dispensed with.
