Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch die Vorrichtung,
Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf diese Vorrichtung.
Method and device for cleaning liquids with or without precipitants
The invention relates to a method and a device for cleaning liquids with or without a precipitant, in which method the suspension is maintained by continuous circulation.
There are already methods and devices be known that are based on the principle of constant circulation, with liquids such. B. water or wastewater that is treated for the purpose of clarification with or without chemicals, can be generated in a sludge contact zone of a certain consistency.
The contact zone is located in the lower part of a container and the so-called clarification zone is in the upper part of this container.
In all known devices, the liquid from the contact zone is passed through centrally arranged dip tubes or walls from top to bottom, with one-sided application of both the contact zone and the clarification zone.
The known devices lead the clarified liquid into a collecting channel which is arranged on the periphery of the clarification container and which does not also serve as a drainage channel for the liquid from the clarification chamber.
This one-sided application has the disadvantage that one-sided currents occur in the clarification zone, which drag up turbid substances with it. A uniform application of the contact zone as well as the clarification zone is impossible here.
Another disadvantage of these known designs is that in order to achieve uniform loading of the contact and clearing zone, complicated guide walls or agitators and sludge clearers arranged on the bottom of the device are required.
The present invention provides a method and an apparatus which overcomes the foregoing deficiencies. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the liquid is guided radially outwards from a central mixing zone and is introduced into the contact zone in a circular manner outside the clarification zone. This results in a uniform application of both the contact zone and the clarification zone from below. Even with the largest pool units, this enables uniform exposure.
Particularly favorable results are obtained when the liquid is removed in the upper part of the mixing zone and flows in a circling manner from top to bottom into the contact zone in order to enter the clarification zone from bottom to top.
An advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention is that the density of the suspension is controlled centrally in the interior of the clarification and contact zone by discharging the excess sludge in the separating plane between the contact and clarification zones.
The device according to the invention for carrying out the method is characterized in that a central container as a mixing zone is connected via radial discharge lines to an annular space surrounding the clarification zone, which on the other hand is connected to the contact zone.
In an advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention, the centrally arranged mixing zone container in the base is provided with a guide device, under which guide device the uncleaned liquid is fed tangentially via a line.
Further advantageous features for the design of the device according to the invention emerge from the attached drawing.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the device is shown. Show it:
1 shows a cross section through the device,
Fig. 2 is a plan view of this device.
A mixing zone container 1 is arranged centrally.
The radially arranged guide tubes 2 serve to convey the suspension out of the mixing zone container 1, which in this way passes from the mixing zone container 1 into an annular space 3 arranged on the outside.
A tangential introduction of the suspension into the annular space 3 is provided by arranging bends or the like.
In the lower part of the mixing zone container 1 there is a distributor plate 6. The uncleaned liquid is introduced tangentially through the line 7 below this distributor plate 6.
A guide funnel 8 that widens downward is provided with sludge collecting pockets 9 on the outside. The overflow edge of these sludge collecting pockets 9 lies approximately at the level of the dividing plane between a contact zone 4 and a clarifying zone 5.
In the constriction of the guide funnel 8, a propeller 10 is arranged, which is set in circulation by a controllable gear motor. This creates a continuous circular movement of the suspension, which flows in the direction of the indicated arrows.
Chemicals such as lime, iron salts, soluble aluminum compounds and so-called polyelectrolytes are expediently added in the lower part of the mixing zone container 1.
The clarification zone 5 is enclosed on the outside with a wall 11, the lower edge of which projects into the contact zone 4.
On the bottom of the device there is a centrally arranged guide body 12, which is fluidically designed so that the suspension flows into the guide funnel 8 evenly from all sides.
Several partition walls 13 are provided in the sludge collector space, which is thereby divided into individual pockets 9.
The clarified liquid flows off through discharge pipes 14.
The mixing zone 1 is surrounded by a collecting channel 15, which ensures the discharge of the clarified liquid.
Another drainage pipe 16 serves to drain the clarified liquid away from the device. The described device works as follows:
The liquid to be clarified is introduced through the line 7 tangentially into the mixing zone container 1, specifically below the distributor plate 6.
At the same time, if necessary, chemicals are also introduced above the distributor plate 6. However, it is important that they are supplied in the lower part of the mixing zone container 1.
Through the propeller 10, the unclarified liquid with the chemicals is intimately mixed with the suspension already in the circuit.
This suspension is indicated by dotted lines in FIG. 1. By regulating the speed of the propeller 10, the fineness of the suspension can be influenced as desired. It has been shown that the finer the suspension, the greater the cleaning effect, which is due to the larger surface of the suspension.
From the mixing zone container 1, the suspension arrives tangentially via the lines 2 into the outer annular space 3. In this annular space 3, the liquid descends in a circular manner and flows tangentially into the contact zone 4 and from there via the guide element 8 in turn into the mixing zone container 1.
However, part of the suspension in circulation is drained upwards into the clarification zone 5, in terms of quantity corresponding to the uncleared liquid supply.
The tangential introduction of the suspension at the periphery of the contact and clarification zone results in a dynamic separation of the settable particles from the liquid. A dividing line is formed between contact zone 4 and clarification zone 5 at a very specific height. The density of the suspension must be regulated by intermittent or continuous flow. This takes place through the aforementioned centrally arranged sludge pockets 9, which are divided by walls 13.
The upper circumferential edge of these sludge pockets is located in the dividing plane between contact zone 4 and clarification zone 5. This ensures that any aging or disintegration of reaction products that are in suspension cannot occur.
In the upper part of the clarification zone, the clarified liquid is discharged continuously according to the liquid inflow.
The advantages resulting from the method according to the invention and the associated device discussed here in principle are as follows:
As already mentioned, the supply of the circulating suspension into the contact and clarification zone from the outside results in a completely uniform application of these two zones. This results in an even supply of the suspension into the contact zone, without any deposits, and an even, moderate passage into the clarification zone without the suspension being carried away from the contact zone into the clarification zone.
Since the suspension is introduced tangentially into the outer annular space 3, the entire suspension in the annular space 3 flows circling downwards into the clarifying and mixing zone. This dynamically accelerates the separation of the suspended particles from the unpurified liquid.
The illustrated design of the sole of the device avoids deposits on the sole and mechanical scrapers and flushing devices are not required.
Another advantage is obtained if the removal of the contact sludge in order to ensure a certain suspension density is not carried out on the bottom of the device, but in the separating plane between the contact zone and the clarification zone. This avoids aging or disintegration of suspended reaction products. The installation of the partition walls 13 in the desludging pockets 9 surrounding the funnel 8 will ensure that only thickened sludge of a certain consistency is discharged. It is of great advantage if the clarified liquid is discharged through radially arranged discharge pipelines 14 or channels which are connected to a collecting channel 15 which centrally surrounds the mixing zone container 1.
The centrally arranged collecting channel 15 also serves at the same time as the radially arranged channels 14 or pipelines as a discharge channel for the clarified liquid. It has been shown that it is expedient to use this centrally arranged collecting channel for the removal of the clarified liquid from the clarification zone, since a particularly clear liquid zone is formed at this point.
Overall, the method according to the invention and the device have proven to be significantly simpler compared to the known methods and devices, since complicated internals, be it in the form of guide walls or mechanical stirring and rinsing devices, are free. The new clarification device has a high degree of efficiency, so that the device can be kept structurally very small.
This is synonymous with the fact that you can create high-performance devices with little resources and little space.
