The invention relates to a hydraulic control device of a reciprocating movement device with automatic air purge comprising a high pressure source, a capacity low pressure receiver,
a distributor ensuring the selective communication of said apparatus with said high pressure source to ensure its active stroke, and with said receiving capacity to allow its return stroke, said device being characterized in that the connection between said distributor and said apparatus is provided by a pipe, split over at least part of its length into two branches, one of which is used for power,
not allow a greater quantity of liquid to flow to said apparatus at each operating cycle than to said dispenser; while the other, assigned to purging, allows a greater quantity of liquid to pass to said distributor than to said device,
said branches being connected to said apparatus by a pipe having a sufficiently low capacity so that at each return stroke of said apparatus at least part of the liquid which it contained is introduced and then maintained in the purge branch, and being connected to the distributor via another pipe. having a sufficiently low capacity for each purging operation,
a fraction of the fluid contained in said purge branch is supplied and maintained, beyond said distributor, to said low pressure receiving capacity.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the hydraulic control device, object of the invention and of the variants.
Fig. 1 is a diagram of a first embodiment comprising two non-return valves. Fig. 2 is a schematic view of a variant comprising only one non-return valve.
Fig. 3 is a schematic view of a second variant in which a flow limiter is interposed on the supply branch.
Fig. 4 is a schematic view of a third variant in which the distributor com carries two separate solenoid valves.
Fig. 5 is a schematic view of a fourth variant in which the two valves are housed in the same partitioned body.
Fig. 6 is a diagram of a second embodiment comprising a remotely controlled purge device.
Fig. 7 is a diagram of a variant of the positive device of FIG. 6 with low pressure valve.
Fig. 8 is an elevational view, with partial longitudinal axial section of another variant of the diagram of FIG. 6 comprising two remote purge devices with a single purge connection.
Fig. 9 is a diagram of a system for hydraulic control of an electrical line disconnector by the device of FIG. 8.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the HP (high pressure) source consists of an oleo-pneumatic accumulator 1 constantly maintained under pressure by a pump 2 supplied from a manifold 3 which constitutes the LP (low-pressure) receiving capacity.
The dispenser consists of a simple three-way valve 4, of which the operating handle shown in solid lines in the purge position can be seen at 5, while the supply position of said handle is shown in phantom at 6:
The bidirectional section 7, which starts from this distributor, is subdivided, into 8, to form a split pipe which comprises the supply branch 9 and the purge branch 10. The branches 9 and 14 meet at 11 and communicate, by means of a bidirectional pipe section 18, with the liquid compartment 12 of a single-acting cylinder 13 of which the piston can be seen at 14.
The branches 9 and 10 can "have a very great length, as indicated by the phantom lines 15, in Fig. 1. A non-return valve 16, which only allows liquid to pass in the direction of the arrow. Fi, is interposed on the supply branch 9 of the split pipe.
Another non-return valve 17, which only allows liquid to pass in the direction indicated by the arrow F2, is interposed on the purge branch 10 of said split pipe.
When the installation is put into service, the handle of the distributor being in the purge position shown in the figure, all the pipes of the installation are full of air and the liquid contained in the manifold 3, because that this is generally not at a very high level compared to the installation,
can only penetrate these pipes in a negligible way.
Accumulator 1 is at its operating pressure, maintained if necessary by a supply of liquid due to the action of pump 2.
When the handle 5 is brought to the supply position, the accumulator 1 is brought into communication with the compartment 12 of the jack through the conduit 19, the distributor 4, the bidirectional section 7, the the power branch 9 and the bidirectional section 18.
In this sense, the non-return valve 16 allows the liquid to pass freely. A certain quantity of high pressure liquid also penetrates on branch 10 at 8, but only up to the non-return valve 17 which prevents it from progressing further.
The high pressure liquid: fills compartment 12, causes the active stroke of piston 14 and compresses ,, towards the check valve:
return 17, the air contained in the purge branch 10 into which it also enters. The air which remained in the reinforced space of the compartment 12 and in the two-way section 18 dissolves in part in the high pressure liquid thus introduced.
When the handle of the distributor 4 is then returned to the purge position 5, the communication between the accumulator 1 and the cylinder 13 is interrupted, while communication is established between the cylinder 13 and the manifold 3. .
The pressure drops in the compartment 12 and the air previously dissolved in the liquid contained in this compartment passes to the state of colloidal dispersion. This pressure drop allows the return means of the piston 14 to return the latter to its rest position by passing the liquid in question first of all in the bidirectional section 18.
In this embodiment, this operation cannot be accompanied by any reflux of liquid through the branch 9, because the non-return valve 16 opposes this reflux. On the other hand, the liquid which was contained in the bidirectional section 18 is expelled into the purge branch 10.
If this return stroke of the piston 14 is sufficiently fast, by inertia, the entire column of liquid contained in the purge circuit is projected towards the manifold 3 and detaches from the piston 14, creating a certain vacuum in the compartment 12.
This column of liquid drives the air previously compressed in the vicinity of the non-return valve 17 in front of it. There then occurs a reflux of liquid from the manifold 3 towards the jack 12, but this liquid cannot enter the purge branch 10. due to the presence of the non-return valve 17, so that it is through the supply branch that the filling takes place, with low pressure liquid,
the vacuum that had formed in compartment 12. Due to the inertia of the liquid, and. the presence of the non-return valve 17, in the case of rapid stroke of the piston 14, a certain part of the dispersed, colloidal air moves away definitively from the jack 13 towards the nurse 3,
even if the bidirectional section 18 has a capacity slightly greater than the cylinder capacity of the cylinder. 12. In the figure, this capacity is very clearly less than said cubic capacity, so that this final evacuation, on each return stroke of the piston 14, of a part of the air initially contained in the compartment 12, takes place,
whatever the speed of displacement of said piston during said stroke.
The process described above is repeated at each complete operating cycle of the cylinder 13 comprising a supply operation and a purging operation, so that, gradually, all the air originally contained in the compartment 12 passes first in dissolution, then in colloidal dispersion, in the liquid, to be transferred,
in successive stages, towards the nurse 3. Once it has reached this nurse, the liquid stays there long enough for it to have plenty of time to degas before being put back into circuit by pump 2.
In the variant of FIG. 2, the HP source is a simple pump 2, supplied from the feed 3. The arrangement of the installation is substantially the same as that of FIG. 1, except that there is only one non-return valve 17 on the purge branch 10.
The operation is substantially the same as in the case of FIG. 1, except that at the time of purging the liquid containing air in colloidal dispersion is directed in substantially equal parts towards the branches 9 and 10.
In fig. 3 to 7, the HP source is formed by an oleo-pneumatic accumulator 1. The installation and operation of the device of FIG. 3 are the same as in fig. 2, apart from the presence of a flow limiter 20 on the supply branch 9,
so that instead of being subdivided into two equal parts, the liquid containing air in colloidal dispersion is directed, for the most part, to the purge branch 10. As a variant, an equivalent result can be obtained by giving at branch 9 a smaller cross section than at branch 10.
In the variant of FIG. 4 the distributor consists of two independent solenoid valves, respectively 21 and 22, one of which, 21, is interposed between the accumulator 1 and the supply branch 9, while the other, 22, is interposed between the purge branch 10 and the manifold 3. The installation of FIG. 4 operates as follows At the start, the branches 9 and 10, the bidi rectionnel section 18 and the dead space of the compartment 12 are full of air.
When the electromagnet 23 of the solenoid valve 21 is energized, high pressure liquid from the accumulator 1 enters this set of capacities and the compartment 12 fills with liquid in which part of the liquid is dissolved. the air previously contained in the dead space, in the bidirectional section 18 and in the supply branch 10, while the air which remains in the branch 10 is compressed in the vicinity of the purge valve 22.
When the electromagnet 24 of the valve 22 is energized, the electromagnet 23 of the valve 21 having meanwhile been de-energized; the air thus compressed escapes towards the manifold 3 and the pressure at 12 decreases, which causes, as before, the passage of the dissolved air in the state of colloidal dispersion. The piston 14 of the jack: 13 returns to the rest position by causing liquid containing air in colloidal dispersion to enter the purge branch 10.
After possible take-off by inertia then reflux, there remains at the inlet of the purge branch 10 a quantity of this liquid containing air equal to the difference between the displacement of the cylinder 13 and the volume of the bidirectional section 18.
During the next supply phase, the valve 22 being closed and the liquid arriving in the section 1 $ being at high pressure, the section of liquid in question remains in the branch 10 then, at the next purge it is discharged towards the nanny 3 and so on.
In fig. 5 is shown a variant of the installation of FIG. 4, in which the two valves 21 and 22 are arranged in the same valve body 25 subdivided into two sealed compartments by a partition 26. Furthermore, the two valves of the double solenoid valve are mechanically linked, as symbolically indicated. at 27, and are controlled by a single electromagnet 28, such that one of these valves opens when the other closes, and vice versa.
For the rest, the layout and operation of the installation are identical to those described with regard to FIG. 4.
In the embodiment of FIG. 6, the power supply branch 9 can be put into communication selectively either with the accumulator 1 or with the nurse 3 via a bypass 33. The first arrangement is obtained by placing the handle of the dispenser in the supply position shown in solid lines, at 5, and the second by bringing said handle into the position shown in phantom, at 6.
The supply line 9 communicates permanently with an auxiliary cylinder 29; in which moves a piston 30 mechanically linked to a valve 31 which controls the communication between the bidirectional section 18 and a chamber 32 which communicates permanently with the purge branch 10.
Moreover, the bidirectional section 18 communicates permanently with the space 75 comprised between the seat of the valve 31 and the piston 30, a space which itself communicates with the supply branch 9 via a bypass 34 on which is interposed a non-return valve 35 which only allows liquid to pass from the supply branch 9 to the liquid compartment 12 of the. cylinder 13.
The operation of the device of FIG. 6 is as follows In the position for supplying the handle of the distributor 4, shown in solid lines at 5, the accumulator 1 communicates with the liquid compartment 12 of the cylinder 13 via the supply branch 9 , bypass 34 and bidirectional section 18. - At the same time, high pressure prevails in cylinder 29.
It reigns on either side of the piston 30 on which, consequently, it exerts no action, but on the other hand, it tends to maintain the valve 31 on its seat, beyond which only low pressure reigns. of the nurse 3. 11 occurs, in the manner previously described, at least partial dissolution of the air previously contained in the dead space of the compartment 12, in the bidirectional section. 18,
in space 75 and in bypass 34, while the high pressure causes piston 14 to perform its active stroke.
As soon as the handle of the distributor 4 is brought to the purge position 6, the branch 9 stops communicating with the accumulator 1 and is placed in communication, via the. derivation 33, with the nurse 3.
The pressure falls in the cylinder 29 and the communication which has just been described allows a slight bleeding of this cylinder, so that the piston 30 on the opposite face of which the pressure prevailing in the cylinder 13 acts, opens the valve 31 and the compartment 12 of the cylinder 13 is purged towards the nurse 3, through the purge branch 10, ensuring the entrainment of air in colloidal dispersion in the manner. previously described. The valve 35 here plays a role analogous to that of the valve 16 of FIG. 1, by preventing the pressurized liquid contained in the cylinder 13 of.
flow back to the supply branch 9.
In this embodiment, the valve 31 tends to be held on its seat by the pressure prevailing in the compartment 12- and is only opened when the high pressure ceases to prevail in the cylinder 29. In the variant of FIG. . 7, the installation is substantially the same as in FIG. 6, except that the valve 31 tends to be opened by the pressure prevailing in the cylinder 13, but closes as soon as the high pressure begins to prevail in the cylinder dre 29.
In the embodiment of FIG. 6 and the variant of FIG. 7; the high pressure liquid never reaches branch 10, so that the latter can be formed by one. tube less resistant and therefore less expensive. Furthermore; this tube can obviously be - common to several devices, provided that these do not operate simultaneously.
As a variant, the purge valve 31 can be discharged into a local reservoir, at atmospheric pressure, placed at a level slightly higher than that of the manifold 3 and permanently communicating with the latter through the purge branch 10.
In this variant, the jack is first of all purged as quickly as desired in the auxiliary tank from which the liquid flows slowly towards the manifold 3.
The disconnector symbolically represented in FIG. 9 is actuated by means of a toothed wheel 36, engaged with two racks, respectively 37 and 38. The rack 37 is integral with the .piston 39 of a single-acting cylinder 41, and the rack 38 is integral with the piston 40 of a single-acting cylinder 42.
The racks 37-38 and the toothed wheel 36 are engaged such that the piston 39 is at the end of its active travel when the piston 40 is in the rest position and vice versa. Two HP conduits 43 and 44 are supplied or purged, each under the control of an appropriate distributor. From the pipe 43, a bypass 45a, 45b, on which is interposed a non-return valve -46 supplies the cylinder 41.
Likewise from line 44, a bypass 47a, 47b on which is interposed a non-return valve 48 feeds the cylinder 42. On the bypass 45a is installed a pressure take-off line 49 which communicates with an auxiliary cylinder 50 of which the piston 51 is mechanically linked as indicated at 52, with a purge valve 53.
The purge valve 53 controls a section of purge line 54 individually assigned to the cylinder 41. Similarly, a pressure take-off line 55 communicates with an auxiliary cylinder 56 whose piston 57 is mechanically linked, as indicated in 58, to a purge valve 59 interposed on a purge section 60 assigned individually to the cylinder 42.
Each of the conduits 45b and 47b constitutes a bidirectional section. In this application of the variant of FIG. 7; the valves 53 and 59 are movable in the low pressure region.
The individual purge sections 54 and 60 of the two jacks are connected at 61 to a bypass 62 which communicates with a general purge line 63 connected to a manifold, not shown. The operation is as follows When one of the HP pipes, for example 43, is supplied, the piston 51 subjected to the action of the pressurized liquid by 45 and 49 keeps the purge valve 53 closed, the jack 41 is supplied ,
and the piston 39 tends to turn the toothed wheel 36 in the direction of clockwise (in the figure), by means of the rack 37.
At the same time, the line 44 is at low pressure and the valve 59 opens, so that the cylinder 42 is purged by 47, 60, 62, 63. This causes the entrainment of part of the valve. the air possibly contained in the jack 42 by dissolution, then by colloidal dispersion as in the other embodiments.
When the other HP line 44 is supplied, the purge valve 59 closes under the action of the high pressure which comes to reign in the cylinder 56, while the purge valve 53 opens, because the cylinder 50 is put in communication with the low pressure through line 43.
The cylinder 41 is thus purged, while the cylinder 42 is supplied with high pressure liquid and the toothed wheel 36 is driven in the anti-clockwise direction, under the action of the cylinder 38, while the rack 37 brings the piston 39 back to rest.
In fig. 8 an autonomous unit comprises in a single body 64, all the elements of a dual control system similar to the diagram of FIG. 9 with two controls of the type of FIG. 6 auxiliary cylinders 50-56, pistons 51-57, purge valves 53-59 and non-return valves 46 and 48.
The device comprises five connectors 65, 66, 67, 68 and 69, respectively intended to be connected to the pipe 45a, to the pipe 47a, to the bypass 45b supplying the jack 41, to the bypass 47b which supplies the cylinder 42, and finally to the common purge pipe 62.
All the necessary communications between said connections are ensured under the control of the desired shutters, by interior passages suitably formed in the body 64 and in the pistons 53 and 59.
The body 64 contains, between the connection 65 and the auxiliary cylinder 50, on the one hand, and between the connection 66 and the auxiliary cylinder 56, on the other hand, oil filters with stacked washers, respectively 70 and 71 .
The arrangement shown in FIG. 8 allows the various passages and coaxial compartments to be machined easily, by means of a conventional boring machine, by shooting each of the ends of the body 64, due to the arrangement and the corresponding dimensioning of said passages and compartments.
