Motion picture camera In the case of a motion picture camera with a spring drive, the run-off area of the drive, when it is lifted once, is usually smaller than the entire length of the film supply contained in the camera. The usable run-off area of the spring drive in the event of a single winding must in any case correspond to the film length, which runs during the longest usual recording time, but the entire run-off area is only used in the rarest of cases.
Nevertheless, for the sake of security, the spring mechanism must be fully wound up before each recording so as not to run the risk of the recording being prematurely aborted by the run of the spring drive. This applies both in the event that the spring drive runs indefinitely, with the necessary spring tension no longer being available in the last part of the process to maintain the correct sequence of images and therefore the images are overexposed, and in the event that the Expiry is limited in order to eliminate this last, a source of error representing area of the spring process. In all cases, in these known arrangements, the spring mechanism is damaged by the fact that it is almost continuously pulled to full tension.
It has already been proposed to couple a counter with the spring drive, which shows by numbers appearing in a window for how many meters of film the spring drive is still sufficient. The numbers appearing in the window are arranged around the entire circumference of a counting disk. Such a counter now only allows a reading of the remaining expiration length of the spring drive before the start of the recording, i.e. when the camera is at a standstill, but does not offer the possibility of a clear observation and especially not the possibility of an observation during the Recording process.
The invention now aims to eliminate these disadvantages and consists in the fact that in such a motion picture camera with a coupled to the drive, the still available usable mileage of the spring drive to showing display member, this display member is formed by a rotatable disc which is coupled to the drive in such a way that it executes a maximum of half a turn during the entire run-off area of the same and which bears a flat marking that is visible from the outside and extends over the entire angular range of the disc, which corresponds to the run-off area of the spring drive,
and that in the camera housing arc-shaped windows lined up in front of one another are seen, which extend over the angular range of the disc which corresponds to the drainage area of the spring drive. The graduation can be shown in running film meters. The combination of these features enables a clear and visible observation of the usable running performance of the spring drive that is still available. The display device shows at a glance, even while the camera is being operated, what mileage is available so that the amateur can then set up the recording process.
Most of the time, scenes and processes are filmed that cannot be repeated, and you have to divide up how the remaining mileage is used. If you take the example of a competition, a ski race, etc., there is not time to open the camera, and the amateur has to manage the available mileage so that he gets everything on film that he can get a quarter or half a minute later, and he can only do this if he has such a clear and very easy-to-observe display device on his device for the remaining mileage.
This clear observation is made possible by the fact that the disk bears a flat marking that extends over the entire angular range of the disk, which corresponds to the sequence of the spring mechanism. The marking can be colored. It is also important here that this pane is visible in windows lined up in an arc, since it is probably easy to determine the number of windows over which the marking extends, while it is in the course of the recording process or while observing the ones to be recorded Scene is impossible to control a number appearing in a window.
Such an areal marking is only possible if the condition is met that the rotatable disk is coupled to the drive in such a way that it executes a maximum of half a revolution during the entire flow area of the same. If, on the other hand, the rotating marking disc were to perform more than half a turn during the entire course of the drive, the marking would reappear in the first windows before it disappears in the last of the arched windows, which would destroy the clarity.
The rotating marker disc can be coaxially ge superimposed with the spring drive, which gives the opportunity to make the marker disc and thus the circle on wel chem the windows are arranged larger and thereby make the display clearer and more visible.
With such an equiaxed arrangement, the entire diameter of the spring drive can be used for the display disc and the window arch, while with an unequal arrangement the available housing area of a narrow-film camera would only allow a much smaller window arch or a substantially smaller disc . In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is schematically illustrated using an exemplary embodiment.
Fig. 1 shows a side wall of the camera housing, which is partially cut open to make visible the disc representing the display member.
FIG. 2 shows a section along line 11-II of FIG. 1.
1 shows a shaft of the spring drive, for example the shaft of the spring housing. A pinion 2 is seated on this shaft, which meshes with a gear 3, which is in turn connected to a pinion 4 on the same axis. A disk 5 is rotatably mounted on the shaft 1 and has an internal tooth sector 6 which is in engagement with the pinion 4. As a result, the speed of the disk 5 is now reduced to such an extent that this disk executes a maximum of half a rotation during the entire usable drainage area of the spring running mechanism.
A surface marking 7, which extends as far as a boundary line 8, is now provided on part of its circumference on this disk. This area marking can be of any color. In the area of this surface marking, windows 9 in the wall of the camera housing 10 are lined up in an arc shape so that the limit line 8 of the surface marking 7 is permanently visible. The direction of movement of the spring drive is indicated by arrows 11.
When the spring drive is fully lifted, all windows are now underlaid by the area marking 7 and appear in color. As soon as the process begins, the delimitation line 8 of the area marking 7 moves slowly in sequence in the direction of rotation of the clockwise past these windows 9, and you can clearly see which windows still appear in color (area marking 7), which leads to the ones still available Drainage area of the spring drive can be closed.
For example, the windows 9 can now be designed such that the webs 12 form a scale division between these windows. If, for example, the length of each window 9 corresponds to 1 m of the film length, the result in the exemplary embodiment of the drawing is a drainage area of 5 m of the film length when the spring drive is fully wound. However, since hardly more than 11/2 or 2 m are required for a recording, it is always only necessary to open the drive so far that the first two windows (the two right-hand windows 9) appear in color through the area marking 7.
When the boundary line 8 of the surface marking 7 arrives at the end of the last window, the drive has reached the end of its usable Laufberei Ches, and you can now to make recordings with continuous running for a certain recording duration, simply pull the drive so far that the boundary line 8 shows the desired length of the recording, whereupon the drive can run to the end.
