Seating and reclining furniture The present invention is a seating and reclining furniture with a seat part and at least one backrest part which can be folded down into the plane of the seat part in order to form a lying surface together with the seat part.
Compared to known furniture of the type mentioned, that according to the invention differs in that the dividing line parallel to the pivot axis of the backrest part between the backrest part and the seat part runs obliquely to the longitudinal direction of the lying surface.
For example, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the seating and reclining furniture in perspective view and with two folded backrest parts.
Fig. 2 shows on a larger scale part of the same piece of furniture in plan view, with the backrest parts folded down and the upholstery removed from the seat part and the backrest parts.
Fig. 3 is a side view of the furniture with the backrest parts folded down.
Fig. 4 shows a partial section along the line IV-IV in Fig.2 in relation to this enlarged scale, namely in the folded-up state of the backrest part and with the upholstery tion.
Fig. 5 shows an even larger scale A detail of Fig. 4 in vertical section.
The illustrated seating and reclining furniture has a seat part 11 and two mutually mirror-inverted ge designed backrest parts 12 which can be folded down into the plane of the seat part 11, as illustrated in Fig. 1 with dash-dotted lines. In the folded-down state of the backrest parts 12, these together with the seat part 11 form a rectangular lying surface.
Each of the two backrest parts 12 is separated from the seat part 11 by a dividing line 13a or 13b, which extends obliquely to the longitudinal direction of the lying surface. The two dividing lines 13a and 13b have an oppositely inclined course with respect to the longitudinal direction of the lying surface, intersect at one edge of the lying surface and form an obtuse angle between them. The backrest parts 12 thus each form a corner section at the head or foot end of the lying surface.
The seat part 11 consists of a correspondingly shaped frame 14, which is formed from angle profile rails, and a cushion 15 supported thereon. The frame 14 is attached to a sub-frame with the interposition of spacer bodies 16 (FIG. 3), which consists of a horizontal plane extending frame 17 composed of U-profile pieces and four legs 18 supporting the frame 17.
Each of the backrest parts 12 consists of a triangular frame 19, which is composed of angle profile rails, and a cushion 20 supported thereon. On the frame 17 of the fixed base there are two tabs 21 for each backrest part 12 (FIGS. 2 and 4 ) welded, which run parallel to each other and at right angles to the dividing line 13a and 13b ver.
In the tabs 21 two axles 22 and 23 running parallel to the dividing line 13a and 13b are mounted, which are each firmly connected to a pair of links. The connecting rods 24 of the one pair connected to the axle 22 are of identical design and run parallel to one another. The fixed on the axis 23 handlebar 25 of the other pair are shorter zer than the handlebars 24, but also run par allel to each other and are also the same. Since the links of each pair are connected to each other by the relevant axle 22 and 23, they inevitably always move synchronously mitein other.
The frame 19 of each backrest part 12 is provided with two protruding tabs 26 which are aligned with respect to the tabs 21 of the underframe and of which only one is visible in FIG. On each of these tabs 26, two of the unequally long links 24 and 25 are pivotably mounted with the aid of pivot pins 27 and 28.
4 shows that the links 24 and 25 allow at least approximately a pivoting movement of the relevant backrest part 12 about an imaginary, immaterial axis which runs along the dividing line 13a or 13b and coincides with it.
The position which the links 24 and 25 and the backrest part 12 assume in the folded-down state of the latter is shown in dash-dotted lines in FIG. The described kinematic guidance of the backrest parts 12 ensures that an upper edge of the cushion 15 of the seat part 11 and an upper edge of the cushion 20 of the backrest parts 12 touch each other both in the pivoted up and in the folded down position of the tensile parts and along the dividing line 13a or 13b run.
The handlebars 24 each have a nose 29 (Fig. 4), which when pivoting up the relevant toe nteiles 12 strikes against the frame 19 and because be bordered by the upward movement of the ten-part.
To secure the ten parts 12 in the swiveled up position, support struts 30 are provided, of which only one is visible in FIGS. 2 and 4. Each of these support struts 30 is pivotally connected at its upper end to the frame 19 of the respective ten part 12 by a tab 31 of the frame 19 engages in a slot of the support strut 30 and a pivot pin 32 both through the slotted part of the strut 30 and through the tab 31 passes through it (Figure 4). The lower end of the support strut 30 came to be supported on the frame 17 of the undercarriage,
so that the strut 30 runs in the longitudinal direction of one leg 18 of the lower frame. According to FIG. 5, the strut 30 is formed from a tube, in the lower end part of which a pin 33 is firmly inserted. Furthermore, a helical compression spring 34 is inserted into the pipe end, one end of which is supported against the pin 33, while the other end of the spring 34 rests against a ball 35 which is located in the outermost pipe end and prevents falling out by the pressed edge 36 of the pipe end is secured.
The Ku gel 35 forms a spring-loaded latch which, in the active position of the strut 30, engages in a corresponding recess 37 of the frame 19, thereby securing the strut 30 against unintentional pivoting.
If one wishes to fold down a ten part 12, the relevant support strut 30 is pivoted towards the underside of the ten part 12, the resistance caused by the spring 34 and the ball 35 having to be overcome by compression of the spring 34. The backrest part 12 is then allowed to pivot underneath into the horizontal position until the support strut 30 rests horizontally on the frame 17 of the undercarriage, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3.
In the folded-down state of the backrest part 12, its strut 30 thus serves as a spacing body between the teaching part 12 and the frame 17, which additionally has spacing bodies 38 (FIGS. 2 and 3) on which the frame 19 of the backrest part 12 rests can support.
If the two backrest parts 12 of the seating and reclining furniture described are folded up (FIG. 1), the furniture can serve as a divan and, in particular, can also be placed at an angle in a corner of the room. It is possible to fold down only one or the other of the backrest parts 12 when a person with horizontally positioned legs wants to support their back on the only upright backrest part, for example for reading.
If you want to use the piece of furniture as a bed for the night, both tens parts are swiveled down and the usual pieces of bed spread out on the flat bed as on the mattress of a bed.
In the case of design variants not shown, the bed surface of the furniture does not need to be exactly right angular, but it can also have curved ver running edges or curves instead of the corners.
It is also possible to provide the piece of furniture with just one hinged ten piece.
