Cooling device for closed, surface-cooled electrical machines Closed electrical machines of great power are usually provided with tube cooling, with all losses being brought to the heat exchanger via the circular internal air flow. A better cooling effect results when at least some of the losses are discharged directly via the stator core to the heat exchanger, so when the casing outside of the stator core forms channels for the internal air flow.
For this purpose, the casing shell has already been rolled from em * em corrugated sheet metal. The production of such a housing shell is difficult, in particular the closure of the inside air ducts to the outside at the two end faces and the connection of the open guide ducts for the outside air to the outside fan space cause difficulties and result in a complicated structure.
It is also known to roll the housing from a flat sheet metal part provided with recesses and to cover the recesses to the outside with hollow ribs pressed from sheet metal strips, which form the channels for the internal air flow. The welding of these hollow ribs along the curved seams is difficult and time consuming.
The invention overcomes these difficulties. It relates to a cooling device for closed, surface-cooled electrical machines with ducts for the internal airflow that run outside the stator core. According to the invention, the sheet metal jacket surrounding the stator core is composed of individual sheet metal strips that are deformed to form hollow ribs, each of which forms an air duct gradually tapering out on both sides outside the area of the stator core and is shaped so that the weld seams between the individual hollow ribs are essentially straight.
In FIGS. 1 to 4 of the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown. FIGS. 1 and 2 show a longitudinal or cross section of a surface-cooled electrical machine. FIG. 3 shows a partial view of the unwound outer housing jacket and FIG. 4 shows a cut sheet metal strip before it is deformed into a hollow rib.
A sheet metal jacket 2 is wrapped around the stator core 1 of the closed electrical machine according to FIG. 1 , which slots 3 of the stator core in the area of the radial air slots Has slots 4 extending in the circumferential direction. There could also be individual, spaced sheet metal strips around the stator core. Another Blechman tel 5 is welded onto the housing jacket 2.
This jacket 5 consists, as can be seen from Fig. 2, of individual sheet metal strips formed into hollow ribs 6 the channels 7 for the inner form cooling air flow. These hollow ribs abut one another with their foot parts 8 and thus form a coherent housing jacket. Outside the area of the stator core 1 and the inner housing jacket 2, the channels formed by the sheet metal strips 6 gradually run out, as can be seen from FIG. 3 .
Before the sheet metal strips are deformed into hollow ribs, bent sheet metal strips are cut to size in accordance with FIG. 4 so that they are pointed at the two ends 9 in the bent state. By appropriately dimensioning this angle, straight weld seams 10 are obtained despite the gradual runout of the hollow ribs. The air ducts 7 formed by the hollow ribs 6 open into it 11 into the engine interior, while the air ducts 12 formed by them for the flow of outside air are connected to the outside fan compartment 13 .
Under certain circumstances, the sheet metal strips, which are deformed to form hollow ribs, could also be welded directly onto the back of the stator core.
The invention offers the following advantages: The tapering hollow ribs on both sides of the laminated core allow the inside air ducts to be closed to the outside in a simple manner and the guide ducts for the outside air flow to be connected to the outside fan space. Since the jacket forming the air ducts is composed of individual sheet metal strips and the weld seams run in a straight line, the cooling device can be manufactured economically and mechanically.
