Coordinate selector In the patent no. 345924 a coordinate selector is described, which intersecting to speak coils, namely line and row coils, and additional holding coils, which each include the relevant entire line or row of the selector and at their crossing points a dry Reed contacts (protective tube contacts) contain built-up contact set. Such a selector is shown in FIG. It has four points of intersection and consequently has four con tact sets 1, 2, 3 and 4, each of which consists of a protective tube contact, for example.
The contact sets are comprised of the line coils A and B and the series coils C and D. In addition, the two holding coils H1 and H2 are also provided, which hold a closed protective pipe contact in this state when they are excited. The holding coils are parallel to the series coils, but they can also be arranged parallel to the line coils. Of course, the number of crossing points of such a selector can be chosen to be as large as desired.
The mode of operation of such a coordinate selector is that when a line and a series coil are excited, a magnetic field sufficient to close its contacts is applied to the contact set provided at the intersection of these two coils. The contact set is constructed in such a way that when two coils, which are located on either side of the overlap point of the contacts, are excited, they are actuated. If the contacts are to be kept in the closed state after the associated row and row coil has been switched off, the associated holding coil is energized, which then supplies the magnetic field required for the permanent closure of the contacts.
Since, in the arrangement according to FIG. 1, the row coils C, D and the holding coils H1, H2 are arranged on both sides of the overlapping points of the protective tube contacts they encompass and, in accordance with the law, when two coils are excited, which are on both sides of the overlapping point of the Contacts are located, the latter can be actuated, with simultaneous excitation of a. Row coil and a holding coil assigned to it, all contacts of the row in question are actuated, which would represent an incorrect actuation, since only the con tact set is to be actuated whose line and row coil are excited.
It must therefore be ensured that the activation of a holding coil is made dependent on the deactivation of the associated series coil, or vice versa, the deactivation of a series coil must be made dependent on the activation of the associated holding coil. In a possibly existing intermediate time, the relevant contact set could be held by the line coil. The same considerations apply to the line coils when they are arranged in parallel with the holding coils.
A compliance with this time condition occurs automatically if, according to the invention, the holding coils are each built from a holding and a compensation winding, of which the holding winding takes over the tasks of the holding coil when the sole excitation is He and the compensation winding when the associated, parallel to the holding coil is switched on Speak coil is excited as a result of the corresponding winding sense that it cancels the excitation of the holding winding at least partially.
This principle can be implemented in various circuits. The exemplary embodiments discussed below are based on a selector construction in which the holding coils are parallel to the series coils (FIG. 1). In the circuit according to FIG. 2, the compensation winding KW lies between the contact ek for switching on the series coil RS lying parallel to the holding coil HS and the contact s for switching on the holding coil.
The effect of this circuit is as follows: After energizing the series coil RS and the line coil ZS by closing the contacts ek, the contact s switching on the holding coil HS is closed. When the contact s closes, the compensation winding KW and the holding winding HW receive current, the excitations of these two windings canceling each other out due to opposite winding directions. The holding coil HS can therefore initially have no effect, so that the above-described error excitation of other contact sets lying in the same row must remain under.
If, however, at the end of the marking process to designate the desired crossing point, the setting contacts ek are opened, the circuit for the compensation winding KW is interrupted, so that now the excitation of the holding winding can affect the closed contact set, whereby it is held . At the same time, the contact s for switching on the holding coil is also held. The holding winding must of course be dimensioned so that it can fully fulfill the tasks of the holding coil.
In the circuit according to FIG. 2 there is a coupling between the marking circuit containing the setting contacts ek and the holding circuit containing the holding winding HW via the compensation winding KW, which may be undesirable for certain cases. This can be avoided by using a circuit as shown in FIG. Here the compensation winding KW is parallel to the series coil RS via an auxiliary contact s2. This auxiliary contact is closed together with contact s1 for actuating the holding coil HS.
Otherwise, the manner in which we operate this circuit is the same as that of the circuit according to FIG. When the contacts s1 and s2 are closed, the compensation winding KW and the holding winding HW are magnetized in opposite directions. When a setting contact ek is opened, the compensation winding K W is also switched off, so that the magnetization of the holding winding HW can now have an effect.
The method of dividing a coil, as described above with respect to the holding coil, can also be used for the series coil. In the two circuits shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, only the compensation winding KW is to be regarded as part of the series coil RS, with both parts being magnetized in opposite directions. The following sequence results in this case: When the series coil and line coil are excited, the associated set of contacts is actuated and contact s or contacts s1 and s2 are closed.
So that the compensation winding K W receives a magnetization which cancels the field of the series coil RS. The contact set in question is initially held via the line coil ZS. The holding coil HS also receives power. Incorrect actuation of the contact sets belonging to the same row cannot occur, since the magnetization of the series coil RS is canceled by the compensation winding KW.
When the setting contacts ek are opened, the magnetization of the line coil ZS that is still present is canceled, so that only the field of the holding coil HS remains, which holds the relevant contact set in the addressed state.
In the circuit according to FIG. 3, a second contact, namely contact s2, had to be used to achieve decoupling between the marking circuit and the holding circuit. This contact can be avoided if a circuit according to FIG. 4 is used. Here the holding coil HS is formed by the compensation winding KW and the holding winding HW, which are energized against sensible. The compensation winding KW lies in the marking circuit and is also excited when the setting contacts ek are closed.
In order to compensate for the opposing magnetization of the compensation winding KW, which would initially prevent actuation of the relevant contact set, the line coil ZS arranged at right angles to the compensation winding K W supplies a field that cancels the field of the compensation winding KW at the relevant crossing point. As a result, the normal field required to actuate the contact set acts at the intersection in question.
The increased magnetization of the line coil does not have a detrimental effect on the contact sets it continues to encompass, since this magnetization takes place on one side, which, as detailed in main patent no. 345924, cannot lead to any contact actuation. If the contact is now also closed, the holding winding HW receives current and thus removes the field of the compensation winding KW. In this state, only the row coil RS and the row coil ZS are effective, so that, as in the cases described above, the contact sets belonging to the same row cannot be actuated incorrectly.
When the marking circuit is separated by opening one of the setting contacts ek, only the field of the holding winding HW remains, which maintains the response state of the actuated contact set.
