Regenerator, in particular for use in a gas piston machine The present invention relates to a regenerator, in particular for use in a gas piston machine, which consists of a wall and a filling compound.
In the present case, a gas piston machine is to be understood as a hot gas piston engine, a cold steam cooling machine or a heat pump, the latter two of which operate according to the reverse hot gas piston engine principle.
It is known to provide these machines with a Rege generator, which has a filling compound made of thin, resilient wire. Thanks to the springing of the wire, the filling compound lies tightly against the wall of the regenerator under tension, as is the case for correct gas flow and even flow through the filling compound be pinned.
But if the filling compound consists of parts that do not spring transversely to the axial direction of the regenerator, e.g. B. from a number transversely to the axial direction of the Re generator through the space of the same extending gauze layers, or if it is sintered, the sealing of the filling compound against the wall is difficult. In order to remedy this inconvenience, according to the invention the wall of the regenerator is made of a material whose modulus of elasticity at room temperature is less than 50,000 kg / cm2,
and the regenerator wall encloses the filling compound under tension. The material of the wall can e.g. B. rubber or nylon. It should be noted that gauze also includes thin foils perforated like sieves.
The wires from which the gauze is made or the foils are preferably no more than 200 microns thick. High gas pressures can occur in the regenerator, under which a wall made of a material with the aforementioned modulus of elasticity, even if it absorbs the mechanical load, can deform so much that gas passages occur along the wall.
In order to prevent d'ass standing out from the filling mass and gas passages occur, the wall is pinned to the filling mass with an appropriate construction of the invention. This can e.g. B. be done in a known manner in that the wall is seen ver on the inside with solder or glue.
It is also possible to reinforce the regenerator wall by means of a supporting wall.
It is advisable to choose a poor heat conductor as the material for the wall, while this is often not necessary for the supporting wall.
The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.
In the drawing, a regenerator with a supporting wall is shown in longitudinal section. The regenerator has a filling compound 1 consisting of pieces of gauze stacked on top of one another, which is surrounded by a wall 2 which is made of a material whose modulus of elasticity at room temperature is less than 50,000 kg / cm 2.
The cylindrical wall 2 is stretched before the pieces of gauze are inserted, so that afterwards it encloses the filling compound under tension. Each piece of gauze extends over the entire cross-section of the regenerator space.
The wall 2 is surrounded by a supporting wall 4, which is able to absorb the forces exerted on the wall 2 by the pressurized gas when the regenerator is in operation.
It is possible here to place the regenerator in the z. B. to install existing metal support wall 4; but you can also the support wall 4 from a Ma material such. B. produce synthetic resin that is applied to the elastic cal wall 2 after it has been pushed onto the pieces of gauze, so that the support wall 4 is only made last.
If desired, the wall 2 can be provided with a layer of glue on the inside so that the filling compound 1 adheres to this wall 2.
