Device for adjusting the ratio of the speeds of two independently driven rollers The present invention relates to a device for adjusting the ratio of the speeds of two independently driven rollers, which are intended to receive material continuously fed, to a desired value and for keeping the set ratio constant.
In certain industrial processes, material made of fabric, paper, plastic mass, rubber or the like is fed in tape or strand form through a continuous series of treatment devices. This material is supplied from an unwinding reel, and fed from device to device and to a so-called take-up reel, in order to be wound layer after layer on itself or in layers with a suitable release liner. Between the supply roll and the take-up roll are a number of intermediate rolls that are used to handle or drive the material. The speed of rotation of the intermediate rollers can be variable in order to be able to effect tension or relaxation of the material passing through.
The take-up roll, the supply roll and the intermediate rolls are normally driven by electric motors in order to apply a driving force to the material passing through.
When processing tire cord fabric z. For example, before cutting the fabric into short pieces, it is desirable to advance the fabric in one piece through certain zones of treatment in sequential facilities in which the fabric is impregnated with gum by calendering or dipping in gum solution. During calendering or immersion in rubber solution or during the subsequent treatment, various tensions, which can be expressed as a percentage of the original length, are applied to the fabric in the various treatment zones.
This means that the tensions which are introduced into the tissue treatment at different points along the path and the resulting stretching at the different points are different. Even if the stretching is different in different sections along the treatment path, the overall stretching of the tissue must be constant overall. This means that a change in the speed of any roller along the path of movement for the fabric must be followed by a corresponding change in the other rollers. Controlling the speed of rotation of each of the rollers in order to obtain a uniform product is a problem that has not yet been solved. In any case, the usual facilities have not made it possible to achieve the desired result.
According to the present invention, the speed of a roller can be measured by a tachometer generator and kept continuously at the same value or at the same difference with respect to the speed of a second roller by means of an electrical circuit.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawing. 1 shows the circuit diagram of a first embodiment according to this invention, a generator responding to changes in the speed of another generator by electrical coupling, FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of the novel electrical circuit according to FIG. 1 with the drive rollers for production of tire material, e.g. B.

According to Fig. 1, Gl and G2 are speed meters in the form of direct current generators, which have the same internal resistance of the winding, the same output voltage at the same speed and a constant value for the ratio of the EMF to the speed. The generator G1 is driven by the motor M-1 and the generator G2 is driven by the motor M-2.
Resistors RS1 and RS2 are normal limiting or load resistors and are used to limit the current in the relevant generators. RG1 and RG2 are the internal resistances of the tachometer generators G1 and G2, respectively. RA is a resistor whose resistance value is determined by the resistance RSW and the required display range. RSW is the resistance of a normal slip wire potentiometer which is inserted into a normal recording device, e.g.
B. an electronic recording device can be incorporated. RC is a potentiometer. AMPL is a device for detecting the voltage and preferably the amplifiers in the electronic recording device. S is a two-phase servomotor in the electronic recording device, which responds to the output variable of the amplifier AMPL and is intended to set the potentiometer resistance RSW. Two voltmeters R'Sl and R'S2 each measure the instantaneous output voltage of one of the generators.
When operating the circuit shown, the generator G2 can be driven by an electric motor M-2 and referred to as a reference generator. The generator G1 has an output voltage which is determined by the speed of the electric motor M-1. A change in the speed of the motor M-2, which drives the generator G2, causes a change in the potential in the circuit RC, RS2 and G2.
There is therefore a potential difference between this circuit and the circuit G1, RS1, RA and RSW. This voltage difference is measured by the amplifier AMPL, which immediately actuates the servomotor S in order to move the sliding contact on the sliding wire potentiometer RSW in order to change the potential at RSW. The change in RSW balances the voltage between circuits G1 and G2 to zero. A recording tip or spring X can be attached to the sliding contact of the potentiometer RSW in such a way that it effects a recording on a recording card K.
At the same time, a normal regulating arrangement, e.g. B. a rheostat in the field circuit or in the armature circuit of the motor, operated by the servo motor to return the motor M-2 to the same speed as the motor M-1. A simple, precise and robust arrangement for synchronizing the motors M-1 and M-2 then results.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the generators G1 and G2 are directly connected to the axes of the two drive rollers 2 and 4 of the fabric manufacturing device. In this device, the fabric to be processed is supplied by an unwinding roller 1 and runs over or under the rollers 2, 3 and 4. Roller 5 is a take-up roller which is driven by conventional means not shown. Roller 2 can be driven by an electric motor 6 at a lower speed than roller 4 by motor 7, so that tension is applied to the fabric between rollers 2 and 4. It is important, however, that the speed difference between the rollers 2 and 4 can be kept constant.
In order to keep the speed difference of rollers 2 and 4 constant, generator G2 is attached to the shaft of roller 4 and generator G1 to the shaft of roller 2. With the usual adjustable parallel resistors and the generators G1 and G2, the system can be set before the start of the production process so that the potential in the circuit of G1 is the same as the potential in the circuit of G2 if the roller 2 or 4 with the usual drive motors 6 and 7 are driven at the desired speed difference.
Once production has begun, a change in the speed of one of the rollers 2 or 4, which occurs for any reason, results in a potential difference between the generator circuit G1 and the generator circuit G2. This potential difference is amplified by the voltage amplifier AMPL, which actuates the servomotor S in order to adjust the potentiometer resistance RSW so that the potential on the circuit of G1 becomes equal to the potential in the circuit of the generator G2.
The motors 6 and 7, which drive the rollers 2 and 4, depend on the movements of the servomotor S in terms of their speed via a normal control device C in such a way that a movement of the motor in order to adjust the voltages of the two circuits to zero, the speed adjusts the drive motors of rollers 2 and 4 so that a constant difference is maintained in terms of the speeds of the two rollers.
Here, too, as described in connection with FIG. 1, a recording tip or spring X can be attached to the sliding contact of the potentiometer RSW in such a way that it effects a recording on a recording card K.
The embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 3 specifies means for coordinating the generator circuit G1 and the generator circuit G2 with one another and calibrating the system before use.
In Fig. 3 the sum of the resistances of the generator circuits G1 and G2 is the following:

In order to coordinate the two circuits, the generators G1 and G2 are separated from their associated rollers 2 and 4 according to FIG. 2 for driving the textile web and connected to two synchronous motors M-3 and M-4.
As a result, the generators generate currents of the same magnitude at the same speed and, if one of the resistors from one of the two circuits changes its value for any reason, the voltage difference across the amplifier AMPL causes the sliding contact on the potentiometer resistor to assume a position other than zero Bring the voltage difference between the two circles back to zero.
In this embodiment, the sliding contact of the potentiometer resistor RSW can be brought to zero on its own scale by sliding the pointer on the potentiometer resistor RCD either to the right or to the left to add more or less resistance as required Bring the circuit of the generators G1 and G2. When the pointer of the potentiometer resistor RSW is at zero and the generators G1 and G2 are balanced with regard to their voltage, the device is calibrated.
The generators can now be separated from the synchronous motors and connected directly to the drive rollers 2 and 4 of the textile machine, as shown in FIG.
In order to dampen the movements of the sliding contact on RS W or the recording spring X on the recording card K in this embodiment, two capacitors P-1 and P-2 can be inserted into the circuits of the generators G1 and G2.
In order to measure the speed of the tissue through the sequential treatment devices, the voltmeters V 1 and V2 shown in Figure 2 can be calibrated so that they can be read in meters per second, because rollers 2 and 4 run at the same speed around with which the fabric runs over them.
