Withdrawal signal device for respiratory protective devices There are known withdrawal signal devices for respiratory protective devices, in which a path for the compressed gas to a withdrawal signal is given when a certain residual pressure of the compressed gas supply is reached. Bourdon tubes, diaphragms or piston movable in a cylinder are used as control elements. Bourdon tubes produce only low straightening forces and therefore require sensitive control mechanisms. Although membranes give high directional forces, they are sensitive to very high pressures and are therefore prone to failure.
That is why pistons that move in a cylinder are preferred as the control element.
It is also known to install a nozzle in front of or behind the control piston in order to avoid excessive loss of pressure gas.
These constructions have the disadvantage that when the gas cylinder valves are slowly opened, the control mechanism u. U. fails because the pressure on the other side of the piston is almost the same.
The invention seeks to avoid the disadvantages of the known designs.
The invention relates to a retraction signal device for breathing apparatus with pressurized gas supply with a control piston under the action of the pressurized gas, which releases the line leading to a retraction signal below a predetermined pressure and consists in the fact that a dosing nozzle is installed in the pressure gas line connecting the two piston sides is.
The design according to the invention initially ensures that, even when the pressure gas cylinder valve is slowly opened, there is always a significantly higher pressure on the side of the piston facing this valve than on the other side of the piston. As a result, the piston closes the path to the retraction signal. This is not changed by the fact that the same pressure is established on both sides of the piston in the further course. The closing force acting on the closing element is accordingly only a function of the valve opening area and the pressure on the closing element.
Another significant advantage of the invention is that by combining the closing element and the piston to form one component, only a single guide is now necessary. This simplifies the design of the device and reduces its susceptibility to interference.
The device according to the invention can also be designed in such a way that the piston carries a sealing ring which, when the line to the signal is open, rests against a sealing surface so that the piston front surface is no longer under the gas pressure. This design has the advantage that nutrient gas can only flow to the pipe in the amount of compressed gas defined by the nozzle.
In the drawing, several Ausführungsfor men of the invention are shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 in section.
Fig. 1 shows a complete withdrawal signal device with a whistle, in the closed position. In the cylinder 1 lies the piston 2, which is round in the upper part and as a square in the lower part. An elastic sealing ring 3, for example made of rubber, lies on the round upper part. Under the piston is the spring 4, which pushes the piston 2 into the upper end position - up to the stop against the cap 6 at 5 - when the device is depressurized or the pressure in the device is below the warning pressure. In this position, the sealing ring 3 rests against the valve seat 5 of the cap 6, so that the access of the compressed gas from the line 13 to the front surface of the piston is prevented.
The piston 2 is provided with a central bore 7 and a transverse bore 7a. The nozzle B is located between these bores. The sealing disk 9 forms the closing element of the valve seat 10. The bore 11 is connected to a pipe 12.
In the following it is initially assumed that the compressed gas cylinder is closed. In this case there is no pressure in space 2. The piston 2 is in its upper end position, so that the seal 3 seals against the valve seat 5. When the cylinder valve of the breathing apparatus is opened, pressurized gas flows through the pipe 13 into the cylinder 1. A small partial flow escapes through the central bore 7, the nozzle 8 and the transverse bore 7a into the space below the piston 2 and flows from here through the initially opened valve 9 , 10 and the hole 11 for pipe 12.
Below the piston. 2 there is consequently no counterpressure worth mentioning. After opening the cylinder valve, the pressure in the device increases slowly. As soon as there is a pressure in the cylinder 1 which exceeds the force of the spring 4, the piston 2 is pushed downwards by the gas pressure into the position shown. Now the valve 9, 10 is closed and it is. equal pressure on both sides of the piston 2.
The following describes the processes when the pressure in the supply bottle slowly drops when the device is used. As soon as the pressure gas supply is used up to the point that the warning pressure is reached, the force of the spring 4 outweighs the closing force of the valve 9, 10, which results from the surface of the valve opening and the gas pressure. The valve 9, 10 opens and pressurized gas flows throttled through the nozzle 8 to the pipe 12.
When the valve is fully opened, the upper surface of the elastic piston seal 3 is pressed against the valve seat 5 of the cap 6. As a result, only the amount of compressed gas defined by the nozzle flows to the whistle, since any leaks in the piston are eliminated.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 initially in that the nozzle 14 is screwed into the piston 15 as an independent, replaceable component. Another difference is that the piston is not provided with an additional seal that seals the piston in the position shown so that the piston jacket surface is no longer under pressure. Another difference in the design of FIG. 2 compared to that of FIG. 1 is that the opening spring 16 is housed in a special space 18 separate from the cylinder 17 receiving the piston 15.
Furthermore, a pressure pin 19 is then provided between the spring 16 and the piston 15, which can be designed as a square.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which the nozzle 20 in a piston 21 bypassing Boh tion 22 is used.
