Centrifugal governor, in particular for regulating the speed of internal combustion engines The invention relates to a centrifugal governor, in particular for regulating the speed of internal combustion engines, with two centrifugal weights connected to one another for positive rotation,
each of which engages at least one lever arm on a sleeve. The compulsory connection of the centrifugal, ewiehte is particularly necessary when the controller axis is arranged horizontally.
In this horizontal arrangement, the gravity of each flyweight acts in the same sense as its centrifugal force during one half of a turn of the controller, while the other half acts in the opposite sense, with the gravity on the same lever arm as the Centrifugal force is effective.
Without an inevitable connection of the flyweights, this would become noticeable, especially at speeds at which the force of gravity is not extremely small compared to the centrifugal force. Such operating conditions occur, however, in regulators for regulating the speed of fuel injection engines when these are operated, for example, in idle.
The forced connection of the centrifugal weights ensures that the opposing effect of the centrifugal force cancels each other and the centrifugal weights cover the same distance.
In a known controller of the type described above, the inevitable connection of the flyweights is achieved by pins that are stuck in two lever arms associated with one flyweight and engage in corresponding seat braces of two lever arms associated with the other flyweight. However, this type of inevitable connec tion is not able to cope with the relatively high stresses that occur when using this controller to regulate the speed. of internal combustion engines occur. The mentioned pins have to transmit relatively large forces at these speeds, which cause a strong wear of the pins after a short time.
The invention is based on the object of creating a compulsory connection that can meet these requirements. This is achieved according to the invention in that each flyweight acts via its lever arm engaging the sleeve directly on a lever attachment connected to the other flyweight.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: Fig.1 is a view, Fig. 2 is a side view of a Fliehgewich th and the adjusting sleeve, Fig. 33 is a section through the centrifugal weight along line III- III in Fig. 2,
1 shows a section through the flyweights along line IV-IV in FIG. 2 and FIG. 5 shows a three-dimensional representation of the flyweights.
On a shaft 1, a driver part is attached to which two flyweights 3 are pivotably mounted. These engage with lever arms 4 on the end face 5 of a regulator sleeve 6 which, in a manner not shown, is mounted on a cylindrical extension of the driver part? is axially displaceable '. When the controller is used to regulate the speed of injection internal combustion engines, the sleeve end 7 is connected to the delivery rate adjusting element of the injection pump via a suitable lever arrangement.
A spring-loaded bolt 8, which presses on the socket end 7, generates the return force.
In addition to a lever arm 4, each flyweight has a lever attachment 9 on which the lever arm 4 of the other flyweight engages directly. This ensures that the effect of the force of gravity of the centrifugal weights cancel each other out despite the horizontal position of the adjuster axis and that the centrifugal weights cover the same distances, so that even at speeds at which the gravity of each centrifugal weight is not negligible compared to its centrifugal force,
a uniform adjusting force is generated on the regulator sleeve 6. The flyweights therefore always assume a symmetrical position to the adjustment axis. The strong design of the lever attachment 9, which cooperates with the lever arm 4, which is already strong, nourishes a long service life for these parts.
