Description

Device for control of , .tightness of a waterproof watch case The present invention relates to a device for checking the sealing of a waterproof watch case, comprising, arranged in a visible manner inside said case, an indicator whose color changes when the degree of humidity of the internal atmosphere of the case varies.

This device is characterized by the fact that this indicator is carried by the underside of the glass of the box.

The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.

Figs. 1 and 2 are a cross section, respectively a plane of this form of execution.

In the drawing, 3 designates the glass of the box and 6 a control formed by a porous wool pellet soaked in a gel containing cobalt chloride and mounted in a metal ring 7, which is fixed against the underside of the ice, in the central part thereof, for example by gluing, pressing, etc.

We could also make in the central part of the underside of the ice a small hollow that we would fill with one or two drops of a solution of cobalt chloride in a gel. It has been noticed that when a box ceases to be watertight after having stayed in water, the water remains in the joints of the box.

When the latter heats up, for example in contact with the skin or in the sun, this water turns into vapor which is deposited in the form of fine droplets against the ice in the central part of the latter, because of the ice cream, which the substance is a poor conductor of heat, stays cold longer than metal.

On the other hand, the central part of the crystal is that where the indicator is best seen without interfering with reading the time, since it covers the center of rotation of the hands. The substance of this witness can, moreover, be used to completely absorb a small quantity of water entered in the box, so as to prevent this water attacking the cog before the box has been dried and returned to it. its tightness.
