Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach der Linie II-II der Fig.1. Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach der Linie III-III der Fig.1.
Runner for electrical machines cooled with a gaseous coolant The invention relates to one. A gaseous coolant-cooled rotor for electrical machines, especially for large power generators.
In the case of high-power electrical machines, for example for 50 to 150 1IW, the problem of dissipating the heat loss plays an important role. In particular, the cooling of the winding of the magnet wheel is of great importance. In the previously known designs, the heat loss is carried out by .an air flow that reaches the rotor through openings in an annular disk that carries the rocking cap.
A part of this air flow cools the arches lying under the cap, another part flows through the teeth in the rotor iron either through drilled channels or through milled and closed slots. Instead of air, new things are often used for cooling. Used hydrogen.
The heat generated in the winding copper when current flows through it heats up the copper and is absorbed by the insulating layer. passed through, which surrounds the individual conductors, to the iron body. In order to bring about this heat flow, the copper has to be considerably warmer than the iron, since the electrically insulating sheaths of the 'ickhin.gsstänke are also bad heat conductors.
Since copper has a higher thermal expansion coefficient than iron and is also warmer than iron, the winding bars expand more in the longitudinal direction than iron, and the winding heads in the caps move axially.
Since the windings are fitted tightly to who happens. this expansion sometimes jerks while overcoming the static friction forces of the rod in the groove.
Also, when the rod cools down, the original length is not set again, but a certain remaining extension remains,
After a few hundred operating cycles, this results in a few millimeters of permanent elongation and can lead to greater misalignments of the winding heads under the caps. This movement of the winding disturbs the balance condition of the rotor, and a properly balanced rotor also shows uneven running over time.
There has therefore recently been an attempt to no longer cool the winding by means of the pole iron, but to allow the air to come into direct contact with the copper conductors. According to previously known methods, the copper conductors were profiled in such a way that tubular cooling air channels were created,
which allow the air entering under the cap to pass through the winding groove mainly in the longitudinal direction in the hollow copper. The air ducts can also be created by appropriately profiling the copper rods so that they only fill part of the groove and a cooling air slot remains next to each rod or between two rods.
With strong wedging or good. In a pressed winding, however, it can happen that the strong longitudinal stresses cause the winding bars to bend or become wavy as a result of heating.
The main part of this arrangement is, however, to be seen in the fact that the air has to travel a fairly long distance from the ends of the rotor piston to the center. While the ends of the rods near the cap are well cooled in this way, the rod parts in the middle part of the runner get preheated air so that the cooling effect in the middle part of the runner is considerably worse than at the ends.
If you take the bars on the groove during a repair, you can occasionally see clear tarnishing colors on the iron in the middle part of the runner, a sign that a higher temperature had occurred there.
According to the invention, these difficulties are now considerably reduced or even completely avoided in a rotor for electrical machines cooled with gaseous coolant, in particular for large power generators, that the rotor has a cavity inside which is connected to the winding grooves by radial Holes is verbun through which the gaseous coolant is passed from the cavity to the winding grooves.
The exciter-side bearing pin is expediently drilled through in the middle, so that the coolant can flow through this drill to the inner cavity of the rotor and from there through the radial holes to the winding grooves.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei is playing a runner according to the invention is shown simplified. They show: Fig.l an axial longitudinal section. through the exciter-side part of a rotor of a power generator,
FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II of FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III of FIG. Fig. 4 shows a cross section through the Läu fer nasch the line IV-IV of Fig.1. on a larger scale,
5 shows a part of a winding bar and FIG. 6 shows a cross section through the winding bar along the line VI-VI of FIG. 5. According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the rotor has a. Winding bars 1 provided central part 2, which on the exciter side continues in a La gerzapfen 3, which is supported in a bearing 4.
The Wieklungabögen are enclosed by a winding cap 5 which is supported by an annular disk 6.
In the annular disk 6 between webs 7 shown in cross section in Fig. 2 Publ openings are left free, through which a gaseous coolant passes to the winding arcs and the interior of the cap 5 afterwards through openings not shown ver leaves again.
The rotor now has a cavity 8 inside. The winding bars 1 are inserted into grooves 9. The inner cavity 8 is connected to the winding slots 9 by radial bores 10. Through these radial bores 10, the gaseous coolant is passed from the cavity 8 to the Wick lungs.
The bearing pin 3 is on the pathogen side. Hollow drilled .. At it closes a head piece 11, which has openings that rule between in Fig. 3 in cross section. Ste shown 12 are left free, with a fixed housing 13 is in communication. A shaft 14 which penetrates the housing 13 and is firmly connected to the head piece 11 is used. to drive the pathogen.
The gaseous coolant to be fed to the winding bars 1 through the radial bores 10 can be fed to the housing 13 under pressure, whereupon it passes through the openings between the webs 12 of the head piece 1.1 into the hollow-drilled bearing journal 3 and through the bore of this bearing journal the inner cavity 8 of the runner is fed.
To enable the coolant to flow through in the radial direction, the winding bars are provided with slots 15. According to FIG. 5, the slots have a length a and are. arranged at a distance b from one another ..
The distance b is selected to be smaller than the length a of the slots, so that the slots of the bars lying one above the other are at most partially covered and thus a flow of coolant in the radial direction is always possible.
According to FIG. 5, the bars are glued with U-shaped insulating washers 16, but they can also be completely covered with insulating foils. The wound groove 9 is closed off by a T-wedge 17 according to FIG. A collecting channel 18 for the heated coolant is milled into this wedge. In addition, this wedge is provided with radial bores 19, which throw off the coolant to the outside.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the gaseous coolant runs radially through the winding, both in the middle part of the rotor and at the ends, with the same cooling lengths everywhere. The centrifugal effect in the radial bores 10, 19 ensures. for a sufficiently high passage speed and an even distribution of the coolant over the entire length of the runner. The copper rods therefore do not get warmer than the pole iron.
With good wedging and support against the wall of the cross-member, the bars remain in the groove up to a higher current load on the winding cross-sections than with the previous types of cooling.
With the type described, it is therefore possible to use shorter runners. to load higher power, which is important for the best possible choice of the critical speed and for good balancing.
