Composite propeller gas turbine system C The subject of the present invention is a gas turbine system which has independently rotating low-pressure and low-pressure rotors for one compressor and one compressor drive turbine, the low-pressure compressor being intended to deliver at least part of the fluid it delivers to the I-Ioehdrnekkom - feed pressor,
the low-pressure turbine is arranged in series with the high-pressure turbine and the low-pressure rotor is also used to drive an aircraft propeller. For the sake of simplicity, a gas turbine system of the type described in the following is called the composite propeller gas turbine system.
According to the invention, the composite propeller gas turbine system has automatically engaged coupling means for establishing a drive connection between the low-pressure rotor and the high-pressure rotor when the ratio between the speed of the low-pressure rotor and the speed of the rotary valve seeks to exceed a predetermined value, where the speed of the low pressure rotor at any speed of the I3ochdruekrotors cannot be higher than the value determined by the said ratio,
while the low-pressure rotor can rotate independently of the high-pressure rotor at speeds that are smaller than the specified ratio. The coupling agents. are expediently formed by an overrunning clutch that acts as a freewheel when the current value of the said ratio is smaller than the predetermined value of this ratio, and which transmits a drive when the current value of the said ratio over the predetermined value of this ratio seeks to rise, wherein the predetermined value of the speed ratio can be, for example, one.
The present invention is used with particular advantage where the low-pressure rotor and the high-pressure rotor are particularly carefully coordinated with one another with a view to high efficiency under cruise conditions or at maximum power output of the system.
Composite propeller gas turbine systems of the usual design are characterized in that the speed of the high-pressure rotor depends mainly on the inlet temperature of the turbine downstream of the combustion device, while the speed of the low-pressure rotor depends partly on the power consumed by the propeller or in certain cases, e.g. B. when the fuel supply to the Ma machine is reduced and the propeller is driven by the airstream as a result of the forward movement of the aircraft, in part depends on the power given by the propeller to the rotor.
It is also customary to provide a controllable pitch propeller in such systems, the setting of the propeller blades being controlled in a known manner by means of a device for keeping the speed constant with a target speed selector. In this case, when the fuel supply to the system is low, for example when the aircraft approaches, the speed of the high-pressure rotor is reduced, while normally a high target speed is set by means of the aforementioned preselection device.
As a result, the propeller is set to sailing position, which reduces the load on the low-pressure rotor from the propeller, so that the speed of this system can increase. Furthermore, the propeller can be driven by the airstream when flying forward, which acts in the sense of increasing the speed of the low-pressure rotor.
The conditions described above, as they are encountered in known propeller composite gas turbine systems, can lead to unstable flow conditions in the low pressure and high pressure compressors, since the flow conditions in these compressors mainly depend on the nominal data of the compressors for which the latter are built. Unstable flow conditions, which mostly occur in the high-pressure compressor of the system, can lead to so-called pumping, which can make it impossible for the high-pressure rotor to accelerate rapidly.
It should be noted that a rapid acceleration of the high pressure rotor with a rapid increase in the fuel supply to the combustion device of the plant is a particularly desirable property of a composite propeller gas turbine plant.
By using the present invention it can be ensured that the speed of the high-pressure rotor does not fall below a value that is in a predetermined ratio to the speed of the pressure rotor. This can prevent the flow conditions in the two compressors of the system from deviating significantly from those for which the compressors are built.
Preferred exemplary embodiments of the composite propeller gas turbine system according to the invention are shown in the accompanying drawing. It shows: FIG. 1 schematically a composite propeller C gas turbine installation according to the invention.
a free-wheeling device for coupling the low-pressure rotor with the high-pressure rotor of the system when the speed of the first-mentioned rotor seeks to exceed the speed of the second-mentioned rotor, Fig.1A shows the free-wheeling device of the system on a larger scale, Fig.1B shows a cross-section along the line 1B -1B in Fig.1.,
1 by the freewheeling device according to FIG. 1A and FIG. 2, a second example of a composite propeller gas turbine system according to the invention analogous to FIG. 1 with a gear for establishing a ratio of the speeds that differs from 1.
The gas turbine system according to FIGS. 1, 1 <1 and 1B is a composite propeller gas turbine system. It has a low-pressure compressor rotor shaft 10, on which rotor disks 1.1 with rotor blades 12 are arranged. Stator blade rings 12a are arranged between the individual rotor blade rings.
The MV eile 10 is stored in a bearing 1.3 in the area of its front end and in a roller bearing 14 in the area of its rear end. The bearings 13 and 14 are supported on a support part which is connected to the outer housing 15 of the compressor.
The shaft 10 is non-rotatably connected to a low-pressure turbine shaft 16 by means of a toothed coupling 17 in a known manner, which coupling allows the shafts 10, 16 of the Nieclerdruckrotoi to escape to a small extent.
The low-pressure turbine shaft 16 is. mounted in the area of its rear end in a bearing 18 which is supported on the outer housing 19 of the turbine exhaust gas device. A rotor disk 20 is arranged on the low-pressure turbine shaft 16 and carries a ring of turbine blades 21 on its circumference.
The low pressure compressor shaft 10 carries at its front end a pinion 22 which engages in a gear 23 which is attached to a countershaft 24 of a reduction gear. Sitting on the shaft 24. Furthermore, a gear 25 which engages a ring gear 26 which is rotatably connected to a propeller shaft 27. The propeller shaft is stored in suitable rotary and thrust bearings. The propeller shaft 27 carries a propeller with variable Blattstei supply, the propeller blades with 28 denoted net.
The pitch of the propeller is controlled in a known manner by means of a constant speed holding device, which adjusts the propeller in such a way that it maintains a constant speed in accordance with the setting of a target speed selection device of the device mentioned. Since the Propel ler through the reduction gear 22-26 with. the low-pressure compressor shaft 10 is drive-connected, the speed of the Niederclruekrotors depends at least in part on the rising ring of the propeller blades 28.
The composite propeller gas turbine plant has. also a Hoehclruekkompressor- and lloeliclrriektrirbinenwelle 30. This shaft 30 is at its front end part in a roller bearing 31 and in the area of the turbine in a bearing 31a. As can be seen, the low-pressure turbine shaft 16 is arranged coaxially within the Hoehdruekrotorwelle 30.
This shaft 30 of the high pressure rotor carries. at their front end high pressure compressor rotor discs 39, which are provided on their circumference with runner blades 33,
a stator blade ring 33a is arranged between each of the rotor blade rings. On the rear end part of the shaft 30 of the high-pressure rotor sits a high-pressure turbine rotor disc 3.1, which carries turbine blades 35. Upstream and downstream of the rotor blade ring 35 of the high pressure turbine.
each a stator blade ring 36 or 3.7 angeord net. As can be seen, the low-pressure inlet is arranged in series with the high-pressure outlet with respect to the flow direction of the working medium in the system.
The high-pressure turbine is supplied with the combustion products from a combustion device 38 of the plant, which after passing the turbine stator blades 37 reach the rotor blade ring 21 of the low-pressure turbine. With 39 fuel injectors of the combustion device 38 are designated in the drawing.
The system described above is a composite propeller gas turbine system with low-pressure and high-pressure rotors arranged coaxially with respect to one another. In such a system, the speed of the high-pressure rotor depends mainly on the inlet temperature of the high-pressure turbine downstream of the combustion device of the system.
The speed of the low-pressure rotor, however, depends, as already mentioned., To. Part of the pitch of the propeller. As already mentioned, it is desirable to keep the speed of the low-pressure rotor at such a value that a rapid increase in the power output of the system is possible when the fuel supply increases.
In order to avoid the difficulties explained above, which can lead to the compressor pumping, an overrunning clutch is provided in the example shown, namely between the low-pressure turbine shaft 16 and the high-pressure compressor and turbine shaft 30.
As shown in particular in FIGS. 1A and 1B, the overrunning clutch sits a sleeve 40 which is keyed onto the front end of the high pressure rotor shaft 30 and has a cylin drical inner surface 40a (Fig.1B). The low pressure turbine shaft 16 is provided with a sleeve which is provided with ramp-like projections 40b. Rollers 41 are set between the inner surface 40a of the sleeve 40 and the projections 40b.
By means of the roles. 41, the two shafts 16 and 3'0 are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner when the rotational speed of the low pressure turbine shaft 16 tries to exceed the rotational speed of the high pressure rotor shaft 30 in the counterclockwise direction according to Figure 1. In the present example, the ratio is Rotational speeds of the low-pressure rotor and the high-pressure rotor at which the rotors are automatically coupled to one another, one.
In the exemplary embodiment of a composite propeller gas turbine system shown in FIG. 2, reference numerals as in FIG. 1 have been used for analog parts of lead.
The present system has a gearbox for setting a ratio of the speeds that deviates from one, at which the coupling of the two rotors, shafts 16 and 30 takes place automatically. The gear unit has a gear wheel which is seated on the front end part of the high-pressure rotor shafts 30 and which meshes with a spur gear 51 which is arranged on a Vorgeleb shaft 5?
The shaft 5'1 is mounted in a ball bearing 53-Lind a roller bearing 5.1, which bearings are arranged in a support part which is attached to the outer housing 15 of the compressor. The shaft 52 also carries a gear 55, which engages in a ring gear 5, 6 on the outer surface of a sleeve 57.
The sleeve 57 forms the outer part of the outdoor coupling \ r. The sleeve 57 is fixed on the low-pressure turbine shaft 16 by means of a ball bearing 58 and a roller bearing 59. On the shaft 16 is. a ring with ramp-shaped projections 60 is also attached. Between the protrusions 60 and an inner cylindrical surface 62 of the sleeve 57, rollers 61 are arranged which couple the sleeve 5, 7 and the ring (and thus the two shafts 16 and 3, 0) to one another,
when the speed of the # Niederdrnek- turbine shaft 16 tries to exceed the speed of the sleeve 57. The rollers 61 and projections 60 are the same as the corresponding elements in Fig. 1B. As can be seen, the transmission ratio between the gear 50 and the spur gear 51 in the gear shown is greater than the transmission ratio between the gear 55 and the ring gear of the sleeve 57.
As a result, the low pressure turbine shaft 16 can rotate freely even at speeds that are greater than the respective speed of the high pressure rotor shaft 30, as long as the speed ratio determined by the transmission ratio of the gear 50, 51, 56 is not exceeded.
This transmission ratio of the transmission is selected so that when the fuel supply to the system increases, a rapid increase in performance can be achieved without pumping occurring in the compressor system of the system. In certain cases it can be advantageous to make the arrangement so that the low-pressure rotor cannot exceed a value determined by the ratio of its speed to the speed of the high-pressure rotor, which is less than 1.
In this case, the transmission is designed such that the transmission ratio between the gear 50 and the spur gear 51 is smaller than the transmission ratio between the gear 55 and the sleeve 57.
It should be noted that in the described composite propeller gas turbine systems enclosed, the shafts of the low-pressure and the Hociidruekrotors normally rotate independently of each other and only under certain conditions, especially with partial load?), Z. B. during the approach to landing with the system from @ -, armed aircraft, are coupled together.
