Construction means with a metal piece intended for electrical soldering or welding to a base For fastening a metallic bolt, socket or the like to a base by welding or soldering, a pistol-shaped device is generally used to hold the metal piece to be fastened during the fastening process and around to supply a welding or soldering current. The power supply takes place for a relatively short period of time, and an automatic timer is used to automatically interrupt the power supply. The switching device was originally a separate, relatively bulky device that had to be connected to the welding and soldering device by means of cables.
Although it has already been proposed a ver simplified switching device, which can be built into the welding and soldering device and a fuse wire. which melts as soon as the desired amount of energy has flowed through it. In order to facilitate the use of the fuse wire, it should be accommodated in a magazine in the welding device, and there should be means to deliver the wire piece by piece, as well as means to eject the melted pieces of wire. Furthermore, it is necessary to adapt the dimensions of the fuse wire to the cross-sectional area of the bolt to be fastened, so that the fuse wire must be changed if bolts with a different cross-sectional area than that of the bolts used immediately before are to be soldered or welded on.
The purpose of the present invention is to avoid this last-mentioned means for the fuse wire and the replacement of this wire.
The invention relates to a construction means with a certain th metal piece for electrical soldering or welding to a base, which construction means is characterized in that the metal piece is provided at its rear end with a fusible wire that leads to a soldering or welding current serves to the metal piece and is intended to actively interrupt the power supply by melting.
Several embodiments of the subject invention are shown in the accompanying drawings. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a first embodiment of the construction means together with part of a soldering and welding device, FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of the construction means in side view and a longitudinal section through part of a soldering and welding device, FIG Side view of a further embodiment of the Konstruktionsmit means, Fig. 4 is a side view of a Ausfüh approximately form in which a straight fusible wire is attached to a bolt to be welded, Fig. 5 the same seen from the right in Fig. 4, Fig.
6 and 7 two more Ausführungsbei play the construction means in Seitenan view.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the construction means has a so-called soldering bolt, which is composed of a piece of metal 1b to be soldered to a base from z. B. Mes sing, copper or steel, and a head 1 a made of solder, which can hold a flux ent. About the rear end of the bolt-shaped metal piece 1b is a cylindrical sleeve 2 made of electrically isolating the material, such as plastic, glass, porcelain, cardboard, fiber or the like surfaces, pushed. On the rear end face of the bolt 1b is. a z. B. made of copper, Alumi nium, iron or the like existing fuse wire 3 attached, which is located in the interior of the sleeve 2.
With the exception of one end, the fusible wire has no contact with the metal bolt 1b, and its other end is supported by means of a contact piece 3a on the sleeve 2, such that this contact piece 3a protrudes from the rear end of the sleeve 2. The fusible wire has such dimensions and electrical properties that it melts through as soon as the electrical energy required to melt the head 1 a has flowed through the wire 3.
For its use, the described construction means 1-3 with the rear part. of the sleeve 2 is pushed into a recess of a holder 4 which forms part of a pistol-shaped welding and soldering device. The entire welding or soldering current is fed directly to the metallic holder 4 without it being regulated with the aid of a previously common time switch device. The current flows through the fusible wire 3a, 3 to the soldering stud la, 1b, and between the head 1a. and an electric arc is formed on the workpiece to which the stud 1b is to be soldered, which melts the head 1a.
If this is done to a sufficient extent, so much energy has flowed through the fuse wire 3 that it melts and the further power supply is interrupted. At this moment the holder 4- by means of the sleeve \? the metal bolt 1b against the workpiece in the molten solder mass, so that after he stiff the solder mass, the bolt 1b is soldered to the workpiece. The sleeve 2 has acted as a force transmission element and also as a protective housing to protect the fuse wire 3 from the effects of the arc.
After the metal bolt 1b has been soldered in place, the sleeve ′ is removed and the part of the bolt 1b lying outside a circumferential groove 5 is broken off.
In Figy. 2, a metal bolt 6 to be welded to a base is provided at its rear end with a fusible wire 7, one end of which is attached to the bolt 6 and the other end of which is secured to an insulating support body 8. A current-carrying holder 9 is suitably provided with an insulating ring 10 for insertion. of the bolt 6. This ring 10 could also be attached to the bolt 6 and then lifted over the holder 9.
The support body 8 has the task of forcibly holding one end of the fuse wire 7 in a position that contact \ with the. Holder 9 possible and a lateral way of turning the fusible wire under the influence of the heat and thus a premature interruption of the current before the wire 7 is melted ge is prevented.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, a threaded bolt 11 to be welded to a liner is seen at its rear end with an electrically insulating pin 12, which serves as a support body for a fuse wire 13. The fusible wire 13 is wound around the pin 12 and fastened with one end to the bolt 11, while the other end of the wire 13 is arranged on the end face of the pin 12 in order to be pressed against this end face and against a current-carrying holder can, analogous to the example described above.
When the fuse wire is intended to melt through, it can occasionally happen that the free parts of the wire come into contact with one another again, with the result that the circuit is closed and a current is supplied that is neither intended nor desired. This can be prevented in the embodiments according to FIGS. 4 to 7.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, a z. B. existing steel welding stud 14 at its front end, which is to be welded to another metal object, provided in a suitable manner with a filling of flux 15 to facilitate the melting of this front end. At the rear end of the bolt 14 made of copper, iron, aluminum or the like existing fusible wire 16 is fastened, expediently by welding. The fuse wire 16 has a straight course and is freely protruding from the bolt 14, in the axial direction of the latter. As a result, the fuse wire in the middle of the rear end face of the bolt 14 is connected with this ver.
The dimensions of the wire 16 are chosen so that it melts as soon as an amount of electrical energy sufficient to melt the front part of the bolt 14 has flowed through the wire 16. The strength of the wire 16 must, however, at the same time be large enough to give the wire the necessary rigidity so that it is able to protrude freely from the bolt 14 in the horizontal direction without bending downwards. If the wire 16 made of a certain metal, considering the limited amount of energy that is to flow through it, should prove to be too weak in mechanical terms, a different metal with lower electrical conductivity must be selected for the fuse wire, with one Enlargement of the wire diameter is necessary.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, a fusible wire 17 is fastened in a metal bolt 18 which, for. B. consists of steel, brass or copper and has a head at its front end. 19 made of solder carries the purpose of containing a flux medium filling at its outer end. Most of the fuse wire 17, which faces the bolt 18, has a straight course, while the outer end portion of the wire 17 is wave-shaped, for the purpose of ensuring good contact with a current-carrying holder or the like by its own elasticity.
According to Fig. 7, a straight fusible wire 20 is fixed in a threaded connector 21, the front end portion 22 has the shape of a head, which carries a suitably filled with flux th solder 23 on its front surface. The outermost end part of the fuse wire 20 is thicker than the remaining part of the wire, so that good contact with a current-carrying part is ensured.
The shape of the fuse wire as well as its connection with the metal part to be soldered or welded on can of course be changed, and it can also be used with different types of welding or soldering studs. The fuse wire can easily have a wave shape over its entire length or extend completely or partially in a helical manner. The mechanical strength of the fusible wire can be increased by a stiffening material that is optionally attached to only part of the fusible wire.
The rectilinear fusible wire does not need to be arranged in the center of the end face of the bolt, but can, for example, be attached to an edge of the end of the bolt. The fusible wire can be arranged in a channel of a relatively thin, separate disk and protrude with its ends as contact pieces, such that the disk can be arranged at the rear end of the bolt to be fastened. The metal part to which the fuse wire is fastened can have a completely independent form of formation of the fuse wire.
