Strahlantriehseinrichtung.
Jet propulsion device. The invention relates to. a jet anti-friction device, especially on aircraft.
In aircraft engines, efforts are often made to process large amounts of air through the propulsion means. By accelerating large amounts of air, good propulsion efficiencies are achieved, effective (irenzesial suction enables, or other aerodynamic effects, e.g. on hollow wings through which air flows) can be achieved .
Propellers are ruled out for conveying large amounts of air if high speeds are sought. It exists. but the possibility of realizing a jet propulsion using so-called tunnel screws, which can be propelled in different ways.
The aim of the invention is to create a powerful drive in every lobe position of an aircraft, which can be accommodated in a small space within the wing in a two-way design and, in particular, can also be used advantageously for a boundary view suction.
For this purpose, an air hoisting machine is driven by a thermal power masehine in the invention @: emässen jet propulsion unit, in which a gaseous working medium runs through a circuit, where it is brought to high pressure in a compressor, in a heater by supplying heat from outside heated, expanded in a turbine and cooled in a cooler before recompression.
In such systems, it is possible to have the working fluid circulate under an increased pressure level. In this way, great performance can be achieved in relatively small machines.
The heat to be supplied to the working medium in the heater can in principle come from a heat source of any kind, be it that a fuel is burned or, for example, a core reaction cell can also serve as the heat source.
In the first case, the heater in an aircraft drive can be arranged in the flow path of the air conveyed for the jet propulsion, which was previously heated by burning a fuel.
A favorable combination, however, consists in using the jet drive according to the invention as an additional unit in connection with a turbo jet engine of known type and arranging the heater in the hot gas stream of this turbo jet engine.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is illustrated in a simplified representation as a case of game.
In this drawing, one half of an aircraft with fuselage 1 and wing 2 is shown in plan view. With 3 he is trained according to the invention 'jet propulsion and with. 4 designates a turbojet engine of known design. The jet propulsion 3 is arranged in the interior of the wing 2. A compressor 5 serving to convey the air for the purpose of jet propulsion is driven by a heat engine with a closed working process, which has a compressor 6, heater tubes 7, a turbine 8 and a cooler 9. The jet emerges backwards through a nozzle 10.
The turbojet engine 4 consists essentially of a compressor 11; a combustion chamber 12; and a turbine 13. The jet generated by this engine emerges through a nozzle 14. The heater tubes 7 are arranged in the hot gas flow of the turbo jet engine 4, and that the combustion chamber part 12 is also designed as a heater for the Wä.rmekraftmasehine with a closed working process.
The cooler 9 is located in the air flow of the jet propulsion before the jet emerges. Furthermore, a heat exchanger 15 is provided, in which the 'turbine 8 of the gas circuit leaving the working medium to the compressed working medium of this circuit releases heat.
The air required by the jet drive 3 to generate the jet is sucked in through openings 16 provided in the aircraft wing, which are used for the boundary layer suction; serve.
An arrangement of the type described, wherein such a jet propulsion is used for the suction from boundary layer, proves to be particularly advantageous since the development of large aircraft for longer flight routes inevitably leads to the use of boundary layer suction. In order not to let the length of the channels become excessive, and also with consideration of the weight increase, the use of a plurality of such suction units is obvious.
The heating according to the embodiment shown is to be carried out in a somewhat modified combustion chamber of a turbo-jet engine of known type. This is advantageous because, as is known, especially in the case of high compression ratios, these engines have to be operated with a large excess of air, so that the oxygen that is sucked in by the compressor escapes almost completely. It is therefore advisable to burn a much larger amount of fuel than normal in the combustion chamber, and to use the amount of heat released to externally heat the working fluid of the closed work process.
It is then possible a multiple. to bring out the power, without changing the operating state of the turbo jet engine. The increased pressure drop is partially offset by the increased mass output as a result of the increased fuel supply.
The regulation is extremely elastic insofar as one only has to change the fuel throughput and at the same time can make use of the possibility of changing the pressure level in the gas circuit. This cycle can then give any performance below the maximum with practically unchanged efficiency. There. Furthermore, the density of the Arbeitsmit means in the circuit is independent of the density of the outside air, a high level of performance can be obtained even at great heights.
The machines become extremely small at high circulating pressures and still have plenty of space even in very thin blades. In addition, the elimination of combustion in these units built into the wing gives a greater safety factor.
Instead of using air for the closed work process, you can use. Advantageously, a glass with a smaller molecular weight can be used. than the molecular weight of air, especially helium. As a result of the better heat transfer, it is then possible, please include very small heating surfaces.
Instead of running between the compressor 11 and the turbine 13, the heater of the gas circuit can also advantageously be switched after a post-combustion downstream of the turbine 13, there are also various options for arranging the cooler of the heat engine with a closed work process. It can, for example, also be exposed to the airborne winch on the aircraft outer skin, or it can be arranged in front of the air hoisting machine, namely in front of the Verdieliter 5.
An expedient design of the jet drive also consists in that the heat exchanger is spatially arranged between the compressor 6 and the turbine 8 of the thermal power unit, for example, symmetrically around the axis of the axis. One such arrangement is. favorable for the gas routing between the hlasehinen and apparatus.
Then, however, the thermal power can also be designed in such a way that the working fluid in the turbine expands almost to the final compression temperature, and that there is no heat exchange for the heat exchange between the compressed and the expanded working fluid and is not necessary is.
In order to achieve an increase in thrust, fuel can additionally be burned in the air stream in a manner known per se before the jet emerges.
The inventive design of a jet propulsion is particularly suitable for aircraft. However, limited. Their area of application is not based on this case, but such drives can also be used for ships, for example.
