Method and device for deriving an electrical quantity as a function of the current position of a rate regulator of a clockwork. It is known that each regulator of a clock must be subjected to a first rough calibration before installation in .die clock, which consists in cutting off the spiral, which was deliberately too long during manufacture, to approximately the correct length. This calibration must be so precise that the inaccuracies that occur can easily be corrected in the assembled watch.
This calibration is usually done by suspending the regulator at the free end of the spiral and causing it to rotate. The frequency of this rotary <B> e </B> is compared with a calibration oscillation with the aid of a display device, for example a cathode ray tube, and the spring is cut off as soon as the frequency to be calibrated has been reached. the calibration frequency matches. The length of the spring is adjusted by hand and the vibrations of the gear regulator are repeatedly rocked by hand.
This known manual calibration method has the disadvantage that one person can only operate one calibration point. The tendency is therefore to carry out this calibration automatically, i.e. to create an apparatus in which the once inserted gear regulator is automatically set in vibration, in which the spring of the gear regulator is automatically lengthened or shortened, depending on the frequency of the regulator is high or too low and in which the feather is automatically cut off if its length is correct.
In apparatuses of this type it is essential that the regulator used is set to oscillate automatically and that these oscillations are maintained until the calibration has been carried out.
For this purpose, the mechanical oscillation of the gear regulator is advantageously swayed by an electrical system based on the principle of tuning fork oscillators. An electrical variable that depends on the current position of the mechanical oscillator, in this case the gear regulator, must be derived, which is then amplified and fed back to the oscillator in the correct phase in order to rock its oscillation.
The present invention relates once to a method for deriving an electrical variable as a function of; the momentary position of a freely oscillating rate regulator of a watch movement suspended from the spiral for the purpose of calibrating the rate frequency, which is characterized in that an electric field is generated between an electrical conductor and the spiral of the rate regulator, and that the electrical quantity from a measurement the passage, the electric field through the spiral! - is conducted away by means of an electric probe.
The invention further relates to a device for performing this method, which is characterized in that it has an electrical probe which protrudes into the interior of a spiral arranged for calibration, the electrical lead to the probe being arranged outside the spiral in an insulated manner.
The invention is explained in more detail below with example. In the drawings shows: FIG. 1 shows an axonometric representation of the Eiehvorrichtung with inserted gear regulator. Fig. 2 is a block diagram of the entire, for driving the gear regulator serving Ap paratur.
3 shows an electrical equivalent diagram of the arrangement for deriving an electrical quantity corresponding to the current amplitude of the gear regulator, and FIG. 4 shows a section of the electrical circuit through which the drive means acting on the gear regulator are controlled and fed.
In Fig. 1, the spiral of the gear regulator is denoted by: 1., The unrest of the same with 2. The spiral 1 is performed in the vicinity of the free end between two rollers 3 and 4 through. The roller 3 is pressed against the roller 4 by a spring (not shown) and can be pivoted away from the roller 4 against the action of this spring for the insertion of the spiral. The roller 4 sits at the lower end of a shaft 5 which carries a worm wheel 6 at the upper end. This worm wheel is in engagement with a worm 7 which is mounted on the shaft of a servomotor which can be reversed in both directions of rotation.
The free end of the spiral spring is passed between two cutting edges 9 and 10 of a pair of scissors. The cutting edge 10 is designed as a two-armed lever which is rotatable about the axis 11, and is normally held th by the spring 12 in the position shown. To cut off the spiral, the cutting magnet 13 is excited, which results in a pivoting of the cutting edge 10 in a clockwise direction. If the magnet 13 is de-energized again after the spiral has been cut, the cutting edge 10 returns to the position shown under the tension of the spring 12.
The lower end of the regulator shaft rests on the glass plate 1.1. In the illustrated embodiment, the gear controller axis is held by a bar magnet 15 arranged below the glass plate, the tip of which protrudes into a recess 16 provided on the underside of the glass plate. The bar magnet 15 is excited by a coil 17. However, it could be replaced by a suitable permanent magnet.
Any desired magnet system could also be provided, the _naganetic field of which emerges upwards from the pane of glass and which is an axis of field symmetry that coincides with the axis of the gear regulator suspended in the device.
The task of the bar magnet 15 is to hold the iron balance axis firmly on the glass, so. this cannot perform a vertical oscillation in the usual way other than the desired torsional oscillation. The avoidance of this vertical oscillation is primarily essential in connection with the derivation of an electrical variable, described later, as a function of the current amplitude of the angreglerschwingurr g.
In addition, the bar magnet ensures that the regulator is always suspended vertically. This is achieved in that the bar magnet only holds the lower tip of the gear regulator so that the gear regulator axis passes through this stop point. and can be held vertically by the suspension point at the end of the spiral. The vertical hanging of the gear regulator is essential for the correctness of the calibration, since the gear regulator frequency is influenced by the inclined position of the gear regulator.
A high-frequency magnet @ -stem is also arranged below the glass plate 1.1, which serves to generate a high-frequency rotating field in the region of the unrest of the gear regulator. This 11agnetsystem consists of a magnetic yoke in the form of a plate 18 made of floch frequency iron, on which four high-frequency coils 19-22 are mounted.
Two opposing coils, i.e. coils 19 and 21 on the one hand and coils 20 and 22 on the other, together form a magnetic field, so that two high-frequency fields perpendicular to each other and essentially perpendicular to the balance axis arise above the glass plate. If one of these alternating magnetic fields is now phase-shifted by 90 compared to the other, a resulting high-frequency rotating field is created in the area of the unrest of the gear regulator, through which rotating forces are exerted on the unrest.
The control of the high-frequency rotating field is carried out in a manner which will be described in more detail later by means of an electrical variable derived from the current position of the gear regulator. The vibrations of the gear regulator are thus rocked in a known manner by a driving force derived from the momentary position.
With reference to FIGS. 1 and 3, it will be explained in the following how this electrical variable derived from the mo mentanen position of the gear regulator is obtained. A shielded electrical line 23 is laid next to the shaft 5 (FIG. 1). This line ends on the one hand in the interior of the spiral, where the inner conductor of this shielded line is led out of the shielding as an electrical probe 24. This scanning system also includes a conductive ring 25 placed under the glass plate, which is set under voltage to earth via a shielded line 26. In the game Ausführungsbei an AC voltage of 400 Hz and 250-300 volts is used.
All other parts of the appliance that are accessible to touch are naturally earthed, including the spiral of the regulator. An electric field thus arises between the conductor 25 and the spiral 1, which however also reaches through to the probe 24 through the spiral.
In add. 3 shows the electrical equivalent scheme of this arrangement. The oscillator 27 generates an alternating voltage between earth and conductor 25. With 28 is the capacity of the conductor 25 to earth, with 29 the capacity between conductor 25 and probe 24 and with 30 the capacity of the probe 24 to earth. The probe 24 is connected to the grid of an electron tube 31 which is mounted directly on the calibration frame. Since the spiral now slightly expands and contracts in the radial direction when the gear regulator oscillates, the capacities 29 and 30 are not constant.
If the spiral is contracted, the capacitance 29 is relatively small and the capacitance 30 is relatively large. As a result, the division ratio of the voltage divider formed by the capacitances 29 and 30 becomes small and the voltage on the probe 24 is relatively small. If the spiral is completely expanded, the situation is exactly the opposite and the tension on the probe is relatively high.
An amplitude-modulated alternating voltage therefore appears on the grid of the electron tube 31, which must be demodulated in order to obtain an electrical variable of the same frequency as the regulator frequency. From the electron tube 3: 1, the alternating voltage according to FIG. 1 is fed to the Ver stronger and the demodulator via a shielded line 32. 33 denotes a ground line, 34 denotes a heating line of the electron tube.
Referring to Fig. 2, the following shows how the apparatus for driving the gear regulator works in principle. The oscillator 27 is connected on one side to the frame of the calibration device and on the other side to the conductor 25, as has already been explained in detail above. The weakly modulated AC voltage of 400 Hz occurring at the probe 24 is fed to a resonance amplifier 34. The increased voltage is then demodulated in demodulator 35 and fed to a prefilter 36.
The voltage (2.5 Hz) is then amplified in a low-frequency amplifier and then fed to a limiter 38 acting on both sides, which cuts a trapezoidal alternating voltage from the sinusoidal alternating voltage. This trapezoidal alternating voltage now. is alternately amplified and limited in a strongly overdriven DC amplifier 39, so that a uniform Reehteek voltage with steep edges is created.
The direct current amplifier 39 has a push-pull output, from which the 180 phase-rotated rectangular voltages are each fed individually to a one-sided we kenden differentiator 40 or 40 ', which deliver short negative pulse peaks.
The amplifiers and limiters are set in such a way that the pulse peaks generated by the differentiator 40 temporally n: it the zero transition of the gear regulator in one direction, the. Pulse peaks generated by the differentiator 40 'coincide with the zero clurehgan of the gear regulator in the other direction.
The pulse peaks taken from a differentiator are fed to a time measuring device 42, in which the period of oscillation of the speed regulator oscillation is compared with a calibration oscillation. This time measuring device supplies the control voltages for the servomotor 8 and for the cutting magnet 13. The structure of this time measuring device is not directly related to the invention and will not be explained in more detail here.
Is the regulator eh \ vingun. too slowly, the servomotor @ is operated in the direction that the spiral is shortened by being pushed backwards between rollers 3 and 4 (Fi-.l.).
If the speed regulator oscillation is too fast, the servomotor 8 is driven in the other direction and the spiral is lengthened accordingly. If the regulator frequency matches the natural frequency, the cutting magnet is automatically actuated. At the same time, the entire system is put out of operation until the calibrated regulator is removed from it and a new one is inserted.
The pulse peaks supplied by the differentiators are used to control monostable level vibrators 13 and 43 'which generate a short rectangular pulse of adjustable length for each pulse peak. During the duration of these square pulses, the two modulators 44, 44 'and 45, 45', which supply the high-frequency currents for the high-frequency coils, are open.
Since the square-wave pulses of the multivibrator 43 are shifted by half a regulator period compared to the square-wave pulses of the multivibrator 43 ', the modulators 44 and 44' are im. one, the modulators 45 and 45 'in the other zero duration of the gear regulator open.
The modulators 44 and 45 'are made directly from a high-frequency oscillator 50 of conventional design. fed. The operating frequency is. about 100 kHz. The modulator 44 'is fed via a capacitive phase shifter 46 and the modulator 45 via an inductive phase shifter 47.
The outputs of the modulators 44 and 45 'on the one hand and the outputs of the modulators 44' and 45 on the other hand are each shared via output transformers 48 bnv. 49 with the coil pair 19, 21 bz-, v. with the coil pair 20, 22 a related party.
If the modulators 44, 44 'are open, a current in phase is fed to the coil pair 19, 21 via the transformer 48 and a current in phase shifted by capacitance to the coil pair 20, \? 2 via the transformer 49 . This creates a high frequency rotating field rotating in one direction, in which the gear regulator is given a mechanical pulse in the direction of rotation of this rotating field.
In the next zero crossing of the gear regulator, the modulators 45, 45 'are opened. The coil pair 19, 21st is again supplied via the transformer 48, a current in phase, while now the coil pair 20, 22 via the transformer 49, an inductive phase-shifted current is supplied. This creates a high-frequency rotating field that rotates in the opposite direction to the one shown above and gives the regulator a mechanical impulse in the other direction.
The duration and intensity of the high frequency pulses can be changed and, for example, adjusted so that the mechanical pulse given to the regulator at each zero crossing is the same as the pulse given to it by the armature in the assembled watch. As a result, the oscillation of the rate regulator in the calibration device is largely adapted to the conditions in the clock, which guarantees a perfect calibration.
The demodulation of an amplitude-modulated alternating voltage and the conversion of sinusoidal voltages into square-wave pulses is well known in low-voltage technology. The apparatus parts designated 34 to 39 therefore do not need to be explained in more detail. Likewise, the oscillators 27 and 50 are any known electronic generators that do not have to meet any special requirements in terms of frequency and constant voltage.
The representation of the exact circuit structure is therefore limited to the differential sensors 40 and 40 ', the monostable vibrators 43 and 43', the modulators -14, 44 ', 45 and 45' and the phase shifters -16 and 47. The circuit corresponding to these parts of the Bloeksehemas is. shown in FIG.
The push-pull rectangular voltages emitted by the overdriven DC power amplifier 39 are fed to the grids of two triodes 51 and 51 'via a capacitor of 5000 pF each. The grids are each loaded with a resistance of 200 kOhzn. This circuit creates short-term voltage peaks that coincide with the edges of the square-wave curves, which are positive or negative, depending on whether the edges of the square-wave curves are positive or negative.
The common cathode of the triodes 51 and 51 'is held at positive potential with respect to earth via a voltage divider existing on the resistors 52 and 53, so that the triodes are normally non-conductive. If the triodes 51 and 51 'over the differentiator into the area. positive grid voltage controls, which takes place alternately with each zero crossing of the regulator, the triodes are conductive and the anode voltage of the conductive triode drops briefly.
These short-term voltage pulses are fed to the monostable multivibrators, which are each driven by a double triode 54 or
<B> 5 5 5 </B> are each supplied via a resistor of 500 kOhm. In the idle state, the right sides of these tilting tubes are non-conductive and the left sides are conductive. At the moment when the voltage is applied to the anodes of the tubes 51 and 51 'and thus.
the capacitively connected grids of the left triodes of the tubes 54 and 55 decreases, these left triodes of the tubes 54 and 55 are non-conductive and the right triodes are conductive by the grid of the right triode, which stands over one of the resistors 56 and 57 at the tube 54 and the resistors 58 and 59 at the tube 55 be standing voltage divider was held at negative potential, positive, and the corresponding triode becomes conductive. The capacitors 60 and 61, via which the grids of the left triodes of the llaltivibrators are controlled, are now charged via the changeable grid discharge resistors 62 and
63 on again, so that the voltage on the grid increases until the left triode becomes conductive again. At this moment the arrangement flips over again and the grid of the right triode becomes negative and the triode non-conductive. The speed at which the capacitors 60 and 61 charge via the resistors 62 and 63, respectively, can be adjusted by changing the resistors 62 and 63. This also changes the duration of the tilting of the monostable multivibrator caused by the pulse peaks, so it can be set to the desired value.
On the grids of the right-hand triodes of the tubes, positive, practically rectangular, width-adjustable voltage pulses occur which are suitable for controlling the modulators 44, 44 ', 45 and 45'.
These modulators are represented by the transmitter tubes 64, 65, 66 and 67. In accordance with the scheme of FIG. 2, two of these tubes are controlled by the same pulse, namely tubes 64 and 65 via the line 68 connected to the grid of the right triode of tube 55 and tubes 66 and 67 via that to the grid of the right Triode of tube 54 connected Lei device 69. The grids of all tubes 64 to 67 are also each closed to a voltage divider.
The one ends of these voltage dividers are all connected to the line 70, which carries the high-frequency alternating voltage generated by the high-frequency oscillator 50.
The parts of the voltage dividers located between this line and the grids consist entirely of a capacitor of 5000 pF and a resistor of 200 kOhm. The switching elements 73, 74, 75 and 76, which are arranged between the grids and the points 71 and 72 of the circuit that are earthed for the high-frequency alternating voltages, have a relatively low resistance. The mentioned resistance of 200 kOhm of one part of the voltage divider outweighs all other resistances,
so that currents flow in all voltage dividers that are practically in phase with the high-frequency alternating voltage on line 70. In the low-resistance switching elements mentioned, voltage drops occur which, according to the character of these switching elements, are out of phase with the oscillator voltage. In the case of tubes 64 and 66, these switching elements consist of resistors 73 and 74, so that the grids of these tubes are supplied with a high-frequency alternating voltage which is practically in phase with the voltage on line 70.
In the case of the tube 65, this switching element is made up of a capacitor 75 of 200 pF, which therefore has almost exactly 10000 ohms impedance at a frequency of 100 kIlz and a high-value resistor which is of no importance for the phase shift. The capacitive voltage drop occurring across this capacitor appears. on the grid of the tube 65, so that the same supplies a capacitive phase-shifted current with respect to the currents of the tubes 64 and 66.
In the case of the tube 67, this switching element consists of an inductance which supplies an inductive voltage drop of the same magnitude as the voltage drops across the resistors 73 and 74 and across the capacitance 75. The tube 67 therefore supplies an inductive phase-shifted one with respect to the currents of the tubes 64 and 66 Electricity. The in the fi. 2 phase shifters marked 46 and 47 are shown in Fig. 4 by the tension parts with the Sebalt elements 75 and
76. ' The anodes of the tubes 64 and 66 are fed via the primary winding of the transformer 48, the anodes of the tubes 65 and 67 via the primary circuit of the transformer 49. The secondary waves of these transformers are supplied via the shielded cables 78 and 67, respectively. 79 with the corresponding Spulensy systems 19, 21 and 20, 22 respectively.
If the monostable cultivator formed by the tube 54 is in a tilted state, the line 69, which normally has a negative voltage to earth, is temporarily brought to earth potential and the tubes 66 and 67, which were blocked by the negative voltage , become temporarily conductive.
The coil system 19, 21 receives a high-frequency current pulse from the tube 66 via the transformer 48 and the coil stone 20, 22 via the transformer 49 from the tube 67 receives an inductively phase-shifted high-frequency current pulse. The result is a highly frequented rotating field that rotates in one sense and that. Speed regulator gives an impulse in the same sense of rotation. At the next Null.durehgang the gear regulator, the tubes 64 and 65 are conductive and the tubes 66 and 67 blocked in a corresponding manner.
The coil system 1.9, 21 now receives a high-frequency current pulse from the tube 64 via the transformer 48 and the coil system 20, 22 via the transformer 49 a capacitive phase-shifted high-frequency current pulse from the tube 65. The high-frequency rotating field now rotates in the opposite direction and gives the regulator a driving impulse in the other sense.
The switching elements not designated in Figure 4 such as grid resistors, Sehirmgitter- resistors, cathode resistors, anode resistors, screen resistors - and capacitors and the like are so generally known in such tube circuits that an exhaustive description of them does not appear necessary.
It should also be pointed out that the filter 36 causes a certain phase shift of the 2, 5 Hz voltage. By . this phase shift would disrupt the previously mentioned synchronism between the zero crossing of the gear regulator and the occurrence of the pulses of the high-frequency rotating field. This phase shift can be reversed again by using appropriate phase elements. Such switching means are generally known and do not need to be explained in more detail here.
