Processes for reducing disruptive effects in thermal systems, which are caused by combustion products of the fuels. 1) The invention relates to a method for reducing disruptive effects in thermal systems which are caused by combustion products of the fuels on surfaces that come into contact with the combustion gases.
In thermal systems, for example in steam boiler systems, in 'internal combustion engines, in gas turbine systems., As well as in Heizungsanla conditions are often. Fuels are used which have a relatively high content of vanadium and other ash-forming constituents, such as sodium. If the combustion temperature exceeds a certain level, the inorganic admixtures contained in the fuel can occur in the form of melting compounds, which cause deposits.
Vanadium pentoxide, which has a melting point of 697 C and is capable of forming deposits on the surfaces that come into contact with the combustion gases, can be formed. These deposits affect each other in some ways. interfering with the operation of the thermal systems. On the one hand, they change the flow paths of the combustion gases, which is particularly harmful in gas turbines. This means that the turbine can be bladed within a short operating time.
Contaminations to such an extent that the ability of the turbine to swallow as well as the flow conditions in the individual Sehaufelkanal are reduced impermissibly and therefore the output of the turbine and its efficiency decrease significantly. Furthermore, for example, deposits on the pipelines of the superheaters of steam generators can reduce the heat dissipation of the combustion gases to the room to be heated
ID = "0001.0039"> shimmer, produce steam.
Such deposits of vanadium pentoxy d are also very dangerous to corrosion. 'Even today, despite the use of high-quality steels for the blades of gas turbines, it has not been possible to prevent corrosion on the blade material when certain heavy oils are burned.
Corrosion-endangering vanadium compounds occur to a greater extent especially when burning fuels containing vanadium when higher combustion pressures are used. This phenomenon is due to the fact that at elevated temperatures and combustion pressures the partial pressure of the vanadium compounds in the combustion gases is so high. increases, that these compounds condense and are converted into a sticky ash,
which forms solid deposits on the surfaces that come into contact with the combustion gas and can also act as an adhesive for other solid ash components.
Next. The vanadium compounds can also contain other combustion products, in particular ash-forming products such as sodium

In certain cases it is advisable to use magnesium directly, which is advantageously atomized in the combustion zone. The subsequent combustion of the magnesium to magnesium oxide accelerates the combustion process and at the same time ensures that the described disruptive effects of certain combustion products are reduced.
The addition of magnesium or its compounds has also proven to be advantageous in all those cases in which the fuel to be burned has an increased sodium content. This element is also beneficial. Appearances of deposits and corrosion on the surfaces that come into contact with the combustion gases; this disadvantageous effect can largely be switched off by the method according to the invention.
In addition, the use of a compound containing magnesium, namely the addition of dolomite 3-g, Ca (CO 3) 2 to one of the media involved in the combustion or to the combustion products, gave excellent results; Adding this compound can also prevent deposits and corrosion.
