B. Mattscheibe).
A', B', <B><I>C</I></B> (Fig. 3) liegen.
So erscheint z.

Method for determining the coordinates of spatially located points from two central projector images. Photographs and x-rays are usually images from the central projector. For measurement purposes, however, such images are inconvenient since the different parts of the object appear in different scales depending on their days. Such measurements play a special role in x-rays because they are often after the exposure.
Positions of points or coordinate systems are to be determined which are on the object. themselves cannot be measured at all, since they are inside it. A parallel projector recording is often approximated by placing the projection center as far as possible from the object. away. That has. In the case of photographic recordings, the result is a great distance to the recording apparatus; in the case of X-ray recordings, a great distance from the radiation source. Since, for obvious reasons, these distances cannot be chosen arbitrarily large, the parallel-projecting image cannot be approximated arbitrarily.
In order to determine the coordinates of spatially located points from two centrally projected recordings, the method according to the invention is such that the two recordings are optically mapped on two planes, with the mapping scale for determining the one coordinate in function in one image the approximate coordinate value measured to determine the other coordinate in the other image, and so by repeatedly switching from the image of the front image to the image of the side image and vice versa, with the image scale of the optical in question at each step Imaging system 'is corrected,
receives two sequences of values converging towards the sought coordinates.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method according to the invention.
In the following, exemplary embodiments of the method according to the invention are described with reference to the drawing.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows schematically the production of an X-ray image of an object in a special position, FIG. 2 shows schematically the production of the images of the image according to FIG. Fig. 2,% the arrangement of the imaging system for determining the 0th, 2nd, 4th etc. approximation of the length of a line on the object from its side view, Fig. 2b the arrangement of the imaging system for determining the 1st, 3rd. , 5th etc: approximation of the length of a segment on.
Object from its front recording, FIG. 3 schematically the production of an X-ray recording of an object with inclined reference planes, FIGS. 4 and 5 schematically the production of the images of the recording according to FIG. 3, FIG. 6 an embodiment of an evaluation device.
In the following, the object is always to denote the recorded object, with recording the plate, film, copy or the same denoted by 1 in the figures, including frame, socket, etc., with the image denoted by 2 including its screen (e.g. B. ground glass).
The object is symbolized by the five points A1, A2, B1, <I> B2, </I> C, whose position coordinates (distances from the coordinate planes <B> Ei </B> and Es), e.g. B. cf, c5 are to be determined.
In Fig.l, 1 denotes a front recording. A central projection of the Objek tes from the direction S (Fig. 1 and 3) is a side view. The index f indicates the system of the front recording, the index s that of the side recording. It can be seen that the sections lying in plane Ef have been enlarged in the picture in the ratio p / q.
The evaluation, which is carried out according to an iteration process, is now to be explained with reference to FIGS. 1, 2a and 2b, specifically to determine the coordinates of point C. 0th step The side view (projection direction S in FIG. 1) is formed according to Fig. 211 in the imaging plane 2 (z. B. ground glass). To do this, it is brought into position 1 (Fug. 2a).
In this position all dimensions appear in the object. lie in the side reference plane ES, on a certain scale (e.g. 1: 1 between object and image) on the image. For example, the mass p and q given in FIG. 1 for the front system should also apply to the side system. The mass of the recording must therefore appear reduced in this position in the figure in the ratio qlp. You read. now in Figure 9 -, the route
EMI0002.0036
which represents the zeroth approximation of the distance c $ (Fig. 1).
1st step: The front exposure is now shown accordingly (Fig. 2 "). Here the exposure is brought into position 1 ', in which the image 2 in relation

EMI0002.0047

The Fie. 2 shows the front imaging system with displacements of the recording corresponding to the 1st step for measuring the 1st approximations of a coordinate of points .l, B and C. For this purpose, the various positions of the lens plane L (e.g. LA for imaging the Point AR) indicated, which are necessary for a sharp image. The displacement of the recording and that of the lens can be mechanically coupled to one another, as is the case with conventional photographic magnifying devices.
3, 4 and 5 schematically show the corresponding arrangement for cases in which the reference planes Ef and E6 are not parallel to the recording planes. If the picture taken according to Fig. 3 is shown, the picture of the plane ES in picture 2 no longer appears as a horizontal straight line on which the pictures of the base points A ', B', <B> <I> C </ I> </B> (Fig. 3).
However, if you want to be able to measure from a fixed horizontal in Figure 2, a vertical shift of the recording in the imaging system is necessary to measure the coordinates of each point. Every shift along the optical axis therefore has a certain shift perpendicular to it. The coupling of these shifts he becomes. is enough by the rail 4, on which the acquisition is moved by means of the carriage 3, as a curve or in an approximation as a straight line. is formed at an angle 6 to the optical axis (Fig. 4).
The angle ss is set by choosing two known points on the plane ES, alternately setting the shifts of the recording plane in the imaging system that belong to their coordinates, and changing the angle until each of the points, when setting his Shift to the same horizontal line (e.g. line on the screen) in the picture.
There then remains the error that areas in a plane parallel to Ef are not all mapped to the same scale because their recording already has different scales. So appears z. B. the length unit for B2 is greater than for B1. If one also wishes to correct these different recording scales by means of imaging scales, the arrangement according to FIG. 5 results.
In Fig. 2a, 2b, 4 and 5, the beam courses, which run analogously to FIG. 2, only indicated by rays through the lens center.
The position of the reference planes of the object in relation to the recording elements can be determined by including at least one mark outside the object, which mark is firmly connected to the recording plane or the radiation source or the recording apparatus. The above explanations were limited to the case that the coordinate system of the object is only inclined about one axis (x-axis) to the recording plane. The corrections described can also be carried out for inclinations about the other two axes, the inclination about the y-axis (Fig. 1 and 3) being corrected in the front system in the same way as the inclination about the x-axis.
The INT inclination around the z-axis only requires a rotation of the recording in its plane in the front image. The correction adjustments can be mechanically coupled between the two systems, front and side system, according to the position of the object in relation to the recording plane concerned.
In Fig. 6 an embodiment of such an evaluation device is shown. The housings 9 contain the light sources which shine through the recordings that are in the frame 1. The side view is in one of the two frames, the front view in the other. The support marked L carries the lens. The beam path is then reflected on 45 mirrors and arrives at the focusing screen 2, where the image of the recording is made. To adjust the magnifications and the positions of the recordings, buttons (20, 21, 22) and hand wheels (8, 13, 23) are available, whose actuation will be discussed in more detail below.
The pad 10, on which the receiving frame is slidable, can be rotated in the device about the three axes u., V, 2a. The front and side mounts are arranged in the device so that a rotation of the base 10 of the front mount around the u-axis in the device is necessary to correct an inclination of the coordinate system associated with the object about the y-axis; the base 10 of the side receptacle must, however, be rotated about the X-axis, which, as mentioned, can be mechanically coupled to one another (front and side system).
Between FIGS. 1 and 3 and 6, rotations about the following axes correspond:

<tb> U <SEP> zc
<tb> 2t
<tb> <I> ic @ <SEP> zc </I> FIG. 6 shows the articulated position of the frame on its foot only for rotations around the u-axis; it can also be designed with the help of a joint system for inclinations about the v-axis. The housing 9 containing the light source are connected by a bellows to the frame 1 of the receptacles and with the latter on each one about the u-axis rotatable base 10 along the optical axis displaceably superimposed ge.
The plates 11, which carry the base 10, can be rotated about the axes <I> v </I> and zc. The pad 10 carries. the version of the lens L, on which a button 12 for setting a sharp image by adjusting the lenses of the lens is attached. The recording 1 and the object L are mechanically coupled to one another in their displacement in the direction of the optical axis, as in known magnification devices, with a transmission ratio which depends on the data of the objective. These shifts are caused by actuating the hand wheel 8 for the front system and the hand wheel 13 for the side system.
The offsets are registered on the display devices 5 according to their influence on the enlargement or reduction of the images. The button 20 is used to rotate the base 10 of the front system around the u-axis, the receptacle 1 remaining parallel to itself because of the parallel guidance 1.1. The inclination of receptacle 1 can be adjusted at 15. With the rotation of the front mount around the u-axis, a rotation of the side mount is coupled around the w-axis.
Similarly, the button 21 is used to rotate about the v-axis, the button 22 to rotate the front mount about the w-axis. the associated rotations of the side mount. The beam path between the lens and the recording is vertically deflected by mirrors and the image is thrown onto the focusing screens 2, which are located on a measuring table. A parallel guide (as indicated at 14) with measuring rulers as in the known drawing machines can be attached to the measuring table.
The board 17 carries both systems, the front and the side system. By moving it by means of the handwheel 23 and a correspondingly coupled displacement of the lens, the scale of the images can be set in a coarse setting. In the case of X-rays, a reduction is necessary to depict the object on a 1: 1 scale, and an enlargement is necessary for photographic recordings. Accordingly, the distance between the lens and the recording is greater or smaller than the distance between the lens and the image. The board 17 is provided with a scale 19 on which the enlargement (reduction) scale can be read from a fixed mark.
The operation of the device is as follows: The two recordings are placed in the frame. The display devices 5 are brought into the zero positions in which the recordings are mapped in the set on the scale 19 on the table 17, desired th scale. The recorded with the object, with the recording elements firmly connected marks indicate the position of the coordinate system of the object with respect to a coordinate system of the receiving elements. The wheels 8, 13 and display devices 5 compensate for the differences between the zero points of these two coordinate systems perpendicular to the recording planes, and the buttons 6 plan these differences parallel to the recording.
For these corrections, coupled mechanical devices can also be present between the two systems, which superimpose movements caused by the handwheels 8, 13 and the buttons 6 in such a way that a shift of the front mount perpendicular to the mount plane (w-axis) lateral displacement of the side recording (u-axis) causes and a displacement of the front recording (X-axis) a displacement of the Seitenauf acquisition perpendicular to its plane (w-axis); With regard to a displacement along v, both recordings must make the same movements. Then the inclinations of the coordinate system of the object are corrected with the help of buttons 20, 21 and 22.
The setting values for these manipulations are determined by drawing curves or by checking the positions of reference points in the figures.
Once these settings have been made, the coordinates of individual points can be measured with the aid of the display devices 5 according to the iteration principle, as was described above with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
The wall 16 can be removed and the mirror can be folded down. Thus, instead of the wall 16, a mirror-matt glass system can be attached, by means of which the two images can be brought so perpendicular to one another that a model of the object is spatially determined with the aid of the two images and a sighting device each. The sighting devices must be designed so that all straight lines of a sighting device go through the point corresponding to the projection center of the figure (point 18 in Fig. 1 and 3). So the object z.
B. can be reproduced in plaster of paris by determining the corresponding points on the model by aiming at points in the images. For this purpose, an application example from orthodontics will be explained, namely a model of a jaw is built on a denture impression tray. The impression spoon is seen with a three-dimensional axis cross model. The impression tray is positioned on the patient while the exposure is being made so that its axis cross appears in the images.
By sighting the impression spoon can be brought into the correct position between the sighting devices and images so that the jaw model can now be built on the impression spoon. From this one can adopt the exact shape and position of the teeth. In this application example, the model must be set up on a 1: 1 scale.
You have such a device that allows the measurement of distances from recordings by simple manipulation, which z. B. allows the creation of accurate skull diagrams.
In addition to medical areas (surgery, orthodontics, anatomy), the device may also be used in other areas. As an example, material testing is cited from technology (determination of the positions of voids and other inhomogeneities).
PATENT APPLICATIONS I. A method for determining the coordinates of spatially located points from two central projection recordings (front and side recordings), the projection directions of which include a right angle, characterized in that the two recordings are optically mapped on two planes, using the image scale Determination of one coordinate in one mapping as a function of the approximate coordinate value measured to determine the other coordinate in the other mapping, and so
by repeatedly switching from the image of the front image to the image of the side image and vice versa, with the image scale of the respective optical imaging system being corrected at each step, resulting in sequences of values that converge against the coordinates sought.
Il. Device for carrying out the method according to patent claim I, characterized in that it contains an optical imaging system for the front and for the side recording, the magnifications of which can be changed independently of one another.
