Liquid-controlled injection valve. The invention relates to a liquid-controlled injection valve for internal combustion engines, with a valve needle which opens in the direction of flow of the fuel against the pressure of a closing spring and which, with its needle face on the inflow side, forms only part of the same narrow seat, in the closed position the inflow hole closes.
The invention is based on the object of obtaining an injection valve which atomizes the fuel well. This object has already been achieved in injection valves of the type mentioned in that a plunger is provided behind the needle face on the needle shaft, the cross section of which, which exceeds the opening cross section of the inlet bore, presents the fuel with an additional attack surface immediately after the needle is lifted from its seat,
when the rope piston has not yet left its lead during the lifting play. This solution, however, requires a precise fit and size of the rope piston and is therefore expensive.
An injection valve that also atomizes well, but is simpler to manufacture and therefore cheaper, is obtained if, according to the invention, such a small throttle gap is provided between the part of the needle face that surrounds the seat and its counter-surface that the throttle gap is loved by Ab The fuel flowing through the needle from the seat exerts an additional force which accelerates the opening movement of the needle on the part of the end face surrounding the seat surface as a result of the Drosselwir effect.
Two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig.l shows the first example in longitudinal section.
FIG. 2 shows a section from FIG. 1 on a greatly enlarged scale and FIG. 3 shows the corresponding section for the second example.
In a valve body 1 a Ven tilnadel 2 slides, which is pressed by a closing spring 3 against a nipple 4 in the position shown. The needle 2 lies with its seat 5 (Fig. 2) on the opposite seat 6 provided on the nipple 4 in a radia len width s and closes the inlet hole 7 leading through the nipple at its mouth with diameter d. The counter surface 6 is arranged flat and perpendicular to the needle axis. The part of the needle face surrounding the seat surface 6, the surface 8, forms with the counter surface 6 a throttle gap 9 with a wedge angle a which is wedge-shaped in cross section.
A needle part 10, which is offset in diameter, has a diameter d2 and contains a transverse bore 11, adjoins the end face. This leads to an axial bore 12 which opens into a likewise axial bore 13 of the valve needle which receives the closing spring 3. The valve needle slides in a bore 14 of the valve body 1, which is longer than the valve needle by the needle stroke lt. A channel 15 leads from the bore 14 to spray holes 16.
The fuel delivered by the injection pump, not shown, also presses on a section of a circle. Diameter dl of the Na delstirn and lifts the needle from the counter surface 6 initially by a small stroke. Since the injection pump delivers fuel quickly enough, when the fuel flows through the throttle gap 9, there is only a slight, outwardly increasing pressure drop, so that the force acting on the needle in the opening direction is now due to the considerably greater force offered by the fuel Attack surface with diameter d2 is much larger.
The diameter d2 is about three times as large as the diameter dl, the seat width s is only about 0.5 mm. This has the consequence that the needle movement is accelerated very strongly, as a result of which the flow cross-section at the needle seat is rapidly increased, which leads to a drop in the hydraulic pressure to the closing pressure and thus to the closing of the valve. This process is repeated several times during the entire injection process and generates an audible rattle of the injection valve as a sign that the injection process is hooked up, causing good atomization.
The smaller the gap 9, that is to say the angle α, the better the result is achieved. Receives satisfactory results. one still has a gap with an angle u = 3. The lower limit of the gap angle is. given by the economically viable manufacturing accuracy and is around = 0 10 '.
The second example (Fig. 3) differs from the first only in the formation of the throttle gap 9. The part of the needle face that gives the seat 5 is offset here from the seat by the amount a the smaller the dimension a, the better the result. becomes. As in the first example, the lower limit is given by the economically viable manufacturing accuracy and is around about 0.05 mm. The upper limit at which a satisfactory result is still achieved. is a gap width a = 0.2 mm.
In both examples, the large values of the gap width apply to the larger and the. smaller values for smaller radial gap lengths. Making the gap width equal to zero, that is, the seat width S = 1/2 (d2-dl), would result in uneconomically high production costs. See, because a full support on this large seat width would be necessary to achieve the intended effect of some masses. This results. but only if the effective area after lifting the needle is larger than before lifting.
However, even with such a wide seat surface, the intended effect is not reliably achieved because, during the closing process, traces of fuel remain between the needle seat surface and the counter surface and prevent the seat from being seated tightly. In order to achieve the intended effect with the valve design described with certainty, it is therefore necessary on the one hand not to make the seat width too large (at most 0.7 mm) and on the other hand to make the subsequent gap narrow enough that you can see when the Fuel still gives a sufficiently large additional force acting in the opening sense.
