Floatless carburetor for liquid fuel. The present invention relates to a floatless gasifier for liquid fuel.
Carburetors of various types have already become known. In one of the common types of execution, the measurement of the amount of fuel and air supplied to the engine as a mixture is done by moving a cylindrical throttle slide with a transverse bore in a hollow cylindrical carburetor housing, which has two opposing nozzles for the Passage of air is provided. The throttle slide is set in such a way that, in its highest position, the transverse through-hole is at the same level as the one on the opposite nozzle and so the entire cross-section of the hole is exposed for the passage of air.
With the downward movement of the throttle slide, the passage opening for decreases. the air through the vertical displacement of the bore in relation to the two nozzles until the air duct is completely closed.
With the throttle slide there is one behind. downward, conical needle connected at its end, which is attached exactly above the mouth of the nozzle tube and is pushed more and more into the nozzle tube with its conical end piece during the vertical movement of the throttle valve downwards until its conical part sits completely inside the nozzle tube.
When the needle moves in the opposite direction, the annular gap between the needle cone and the wall of the nozzle tube becomes wider and wider, and, at the same time as this expansion, the passage opening for the air by moving the bore of the throttle slide upwards If the nozzle is enlarged, the result is a gas mixture of almost constant composition.
The movement of the throttle slide is usually carried out by a Bowden cable against the action of a spring, when the pressure is released, both the air and the gas supply to the engine are closed.
In order to be able to regulate the ratio of the amount of fuel supplied to the air drawn in, it is known in these carburettors to attach the nozzle needle to the throttle slide an adjustable zii. So far, for this purpose, the upper part of the needle has been provided with a number of transverse bores arranged one above the other or with several annular notches lying one above the other. The needle was then held in place by a pin that engages in one of these bores and is attached to the slide, or by a hairpin spring that engages one of the notches on two sides and is attached to the slide on the other.
The mixture composition was then adjusted by moving from one cross hole to the other. However, such an adjustment option is very imprecise and not sufficiently reliable.
This disadvantage is avoided according to the invention in that the needle can be adjusted relative to the throttle slide by means of a fine thread attached to it. In this way, the mixture composition can be set continuously and in a finely tuned manner.
The accompanying drawing shows an example embodiment of the carburetor according to the invention in longitudinal section.
The carburetor consists of a hollow cylinder shaped part 1, which is seen ver with the nozzle 2 for the air inlet, the nozzle 3 for the outlet of the mixture sucked by the engine and the hose nozzle 4 for the entry of the liquid fuel. In the hollow cylindrical, the outer wall of the carburetor forming part 1 of the throttle slide 5 is arranged vertically movable Lich. This slide has a transverse bore 6 which allows the air to pass when it comes to rest in the height of the connection 2 and 3 during the movement of the throttle slide 5.
The upper part of the throttle slide 5 is designed as a hollow cylinder 7, on the bottom of which is drilled through with the nut 8 provided with a binding 8 ′, which is pressed against its seat by the action of the spring 9. This arrangement has the advantage that the needle, for example, can be removed very easily by lifting it off with the nut for cleaning or replacement when the upper part of the carburetor has been unscrewed and the spring has been removed.
The movement of the throttle slide 5 he follows through the Bowden cable 10, the train of which is inserted through the slot 11 provided on the throttle slide into the recess 20 of the nut and is fastened with a reinforcement at its end in the bottom of the hollow cylindrical part 7 of the throttle slide. The pin 12 seated in the carburetor housing 1 also engages in the slot 11, as a result of which an undesired rotation of the throttle slide 5 with the nut 8 is avoided. This is e.g.
This is important, for example, when the needle 13, which is conical at its lower end, with the fine thread 14, which connects it to the nut 8 ', is screwed on or off. The fine thread, the pitch of which is 0.2 mm, for example, is used to precisely adjust the depth of immersion of the needle 13 in the nozzle tube 15. In order to be able to make the adjustment, the nut 16 closing the top of the carburetor housing must be unscrewed. The needle can then be easily adjusted to the desired height with a screwdriver.
Means are also provided for securing the shut-off of the fuel flow when the throttle slide is closed. In common designs of floatless carburettors, the fuel supply to the engine is interrupted by the fact that when the throttle slide is closed, a conical end attachment of either the nozzle needle or a special (adjustable) screw cap closes the hole in the needle nozzle like a valve.
However, this design has not proven particularly effective in practice, because due to the inevitable work tolerances during manufacture and also due to wear and tear during use, an exact central seat of the cone tip is not always guaranteed, which then leads to leaks and dripping of the carburetor . Here, this disadvantage is avoided in that a ring 21 made of elastic material, for. B.
Rubber or cork is housed in the bottom bore 7 of the throttle slide 5 so that on the one hand it tightly encloses the cylindrical part of the nozzle needle 13 and on the other hand, when the carburetor is closed, the pressure of the spring 9 sits on the edge of the nozzle 15 and completely seals the nozzle opening and the movement of the throttle slide 5 downwards. limited. At the same time, this elastic ring causes an unwanted adjustment of the nozzle needle by turning in the fine thread due to the inhibition. The nut 8 is with her-Iiii cylindrical projection 8 "against the sealing ring and supports it.
The needle must be set so that the gap remaining between its conical part and the wall of the nozzle tube supplies the correct amount of fuel for the air flow that is present with the relevant setting of the throttle slide. In the lower end of the nozzle tube 15, the fuel nozzle 17 is a screwed, while the nozzle tube 15 itself has its seat in the intermediate floor 22 of the Ver gasifier housing 1, into which the liquid fuel via the sieves 19 enters. The lower end of the carburetor is completed by a screw 18 from.
In addition, a suitable design of the carburetor aims to ensure that the engine starts up quickly and safely. For this purpose, a preferably annular space 24, which is delimited on the outside by the wall of the carburetor housing 1 and delimited by the nozzle pipe 15, is provided below the bottom 23 of the throttle slide 5 and is connected to the bore 6 in the throttle slide 5 through a narrow gap 25.
In this space 24, when the throttle slide 5 and the nozzle pipe 15 are opened, overflowing fuel collects, which, when the throttle slide 5 closes shortly thereafter, is pressed by the movements of its bottom 23 into the space 24 through the gap and out via the bore 6 of the throttle slide 5 into the air line is atomized, whereby an easier starting of the engine is guaranteed.
