Razor of anety. The present invention relates to a safety razor with a blade, of the type comprising a handle provided at one end with a blade holder and a blade cover intended to retain the wool on the blade holder.
It has already been proposed to make razor blades of this type more flexible, by leaving at least one recess along at least part of one of its cutting edges. This is intended (to facilitate, for the naked user, the cutting of the hair of the beard.
Indeed, when the user moves the razor to cut the beard, it occurs that, under the effect. pressure of the blade against the skin surface. the sharp band made very flexible by the presence of the slits or recesses described deforms to take a left shape so that it can follow the shape of the surface to be shaved more closely.
the place where it is tan gente on that surface, than it is with an ordinary blade. In fact, to the bending of the wool is added a movement. of variable torsion of the cutting strip on itself, which allows it to adapt better to the inflections of the skin when it is working, and thus to obtain a better shave.
The present invention aims to improve the flexibility of wool with its sharp edges, and the safety razor which is the subject thereof is characterized in that it further comprises means for clamping the blade in its at least middle part, at each end, so as to leave the sharp edges free over their entire length.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the safety razor making. the object of the. presents inveri- t.ion as well as various forms of blades.

The safety razor shown, twice as large as life, in figs. 1. to, 6, is Iv pe comprising a handle 1, one end of which is screwed onto a threaded rod 2 of a wool cover 3 which is applied to the blade 4 placed on a blade holder 5 held against the end of the handle 1 .. This razor uses a narrow blade hollowed out in the middle to allow tenons 6 of the blade cover 3 to pass through,
so as to form him rectangular frame whose long sides constitute. sharp edges 7.
The blade holder 5 of useful width L, that is to say without the teeth 9, has at each end a narrow bearing surface 8, the height H (FIG. 3) of which is of the order of 0. , 5 to 1.5 mm and which is intended to come into contact with the short sides of the blade 4 when the blade cover 3 is applied to the blade holder 5.
Thanks to the two support surfaces 8, the wool is clamped in its middle part at least at each end and the cutting edges are left free over their entire length, as can be seen in FIG. 6. There is shown in phantom in FIG. 2 mark the edges of the blade cover 3 when the razor is mounted.
Good results have been obtained by using razors such as the one described here. the following dimensions

In the variant of blade 4 'shown in FIG. 7, one of the ends of this blade is split by following the. center line parallel to the cutting edges 7. FIG. 8 shows a blade holder 5 ′ intended to receive the blade 4 ′. This blade holder 5 'has at one end the bearing surface 8 identical to that of FIGS. 3 and 4, and at the other end a bearing surface 11 located only on one side of the center line 12 of the blade holder.
This arrangement allows the edge 13 of the blade, the end of which is not in contact with the bearing surface 11 (FIG. 7), to be even more free and flexible than in the previous case, which gives it greater freedom. allows to better adapt to the inflections of the skin and thus obtain a better shave.
The blades shown on a double scale in fig. 9 to 12 have the same dimensions as the ordinary planks, ie 22 mm wide, but are cut differently. In this case, the blade holder has an ide width of 19 inm.
The blade of the fi--. 9 is. hollowed out in the middle as in the case of fig. 4. Sharp edges .1 are 3.5-4mm wide. The hatched surfaces 14 in phantom lines denote the contact surfaces. between the end sides 15 of the blade and the corresponding bearing surfaces of the blade holder (not shown) on either side of the line m. diane 16.
The wool variant shown in fig. 10 corresponds to that of FIG. 7. One of the extreme sides is. split into 17, only one of the half-sides 18 being intended for. come into contact at 19 with a bearing surface of the blade holder, not shown. The other extreme side of the blade rests at 20 on the blade holder.
The blade variant shown in FIG. 11 has four slots 21, 22, 23 and 21 parallel to the cutting edges. Slots 21 and 22 are open to. one of their ends and are. separated from each other in '225 by -He bridge connecting the cutting edge to the body of the blade. Likewise, the slots 23 and 24 are open at one of their ends and are separated from each other by a bridge 26 connecting the cutting edge. to the body of the. blade.
The ends of the. blade are. intended to be retained in the middle part of the blade at 28 and 29 by bearing surfaces of the blade holder, not shown.
In the variant of FIG. 12, the blade has two longitudinal slits 30 and 3 parallel to the cutting edges, each extending from one end of the blade to near the opposite end. As in the case of FIG. 11, the blade rests at 28 and 29 on the blade support, not shown.
The razor described has the advantage of leaving the sharp edges of the blade free between the wool cover and. the blade holder, which gives these edges greater flexibility and therefore fart improves shaving.
Instead of being curved, the blade holder and blade cover could. be plans.
It is understood that the blade could be clamped in its middle part at each end, for example by a flange seen on the end tenons of the blade cover. .1; This effect, each tenon could present at its base -He bulge of the order of 0.5 to 1.5 mm in height intended to clamp the blade against the blade holder.
