Fuel supply device in a gas turbine plant. The present invention relates to a fuel supply device in a gas turbine plant. In particular, the invention relates to such a device, which has a fuel pump with a constant speed variable delivery rate. That is used for the promotion of fuel via flow control elements such.
B. a throttle, is determined in fuel injection devices of the combustion device of the gas turbine system, the delivery amount of the pump by means of a pressure-responsive device, z. B. piston and cylinder, is adjustable and which speaks before direction on the pressure of a fluid.
According to the present invention, the fuel supply device of the type described has means to have a first fluid flow with a pressure chamber of the pressure-responsive device. supply controllable pressure and a control device for supplying a second fluid flow to the said pressure rate, for the purpose of increasing the pressure in the pressure chamber beyond the said pressure, the control device being automatically actuated when an operating variable of the system reaches a predetermined value enough. The control device can e.g.
B. can be actuated in a preferred embodiment of the type that it allows additional pressure fluid to flow into the pressure chamber in order to increase the pressure and thus the stroke of the Ptunpe, so that a certain minimum amount of fuel flows into the system.
In one embodiment of the fuel supply device according to the invention, said means for supplying a first fluid atom have narrowed passage organs which are connected to the outlet side of the fuel pump and outflow control means which are arranged in series with the passage organs, the outflow = control means such.
can be set so that the pressure prevailing between the outlet organs and the outflow control means is smaller than the fuel delivery pressure and depends on the relative narrowing of the said organs and the control means; In this case, the pressure chamber is connected to a point between the passage organs and the flow control means.
In such a fuel supply device, the control device can be arranged as a connecting member between the pressure chamber and a pressurized fuel source, the pressure of the latter being greater than the pressure prevailing between the passage organs and the outflow control means,
so that the pressure in the said pressure chamber can be increased. If, in this case, the increase in the pressure in the pressure chamber is a consequence of the increase in the fuel delivery of the pump, the delivery of additional pressure fluid via the control device for the pressure chamber increases the pump delivery at a given cylinder speed, to a greater extent,
than it would be determined by the flow organs and the discharge control means during normal operation.
The subject of the invention is to be explained in more detail, for example, using the accompanying schematic drawing; It shows Fig. 1 a gas turbine system with its fuel supply device, Fig. 2 on a larger scale a Ausfüh approximately example of the device in section., Fig. 3 a variant of a detail in section, and Fig. 4 a second variant of the detail in section .
The gas turbine system shown in Fig. 1 10, the z. B. can be used as an aircraft jet engine, has an axial compressor 11, combustion chambers 12 which are connected to the compressor 11 for air intake, a turbine 13 which is connected to the combustion chambers 12 to take on the hot gases and to Drive the compressor 11 is used,
and an exhaust pipe 14 to which a not shown, a thrust nozzle having jet pipe is connected.
In the compressed air flowing into the combustion chambers 12, fuel is burned, which is fed to the combustion chambers 12 by injection devices 15, which can be of known design and to which fuel flows from a collecting pipe 16 according to FIG.
The fuel supply device feeding the manifold 16 has a fuel pump 17 of variable delivery rate at constant speed, which is driven by the system and is arranged such that it sucks in fuel from a reservoir (not shown) and the fuel through a suction line 18 in a feed line 19 promotes, in which a throttle 20 is net angeord.
The outlet side of the throttle 20 is connected by a line 21 to a shut-off valve 22, the outlet side of which is connected to the collecting pipe 16. The shut-off valve 22 is completely open during operation of the system and completely closed when the system is at a standstill.
The fuel pump with. has variable delivery rate at constant speed. 2, a rotor 23, which has a 'more number of inclined bores 23a, in which piston 24 can be moved back and forth under the action of springs 25 by means of a swash plate. The stroke of the piston 24 in the bores 23 a and consequently the delivery rate of the pump is determined by the inclination of the swash plates 26 with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotor 23.
In the example shown, this inclination of the swash plate 26 is controlled by a servo device, the effect of which is in turn controlled by a device 27, which is known as a barometric control device and is used to adjust the amount of fuel to be supplied to the system in the desired amount Change the way according to the changes in the atmospheric pressure.
It also acts to maintain the fluid pressure differential between the two sides of the throttle at a predetermined value at any given atmospheric pressure. The servo device is also by a. : Mechanism 128 controls which is intended to prevent the speed of the system from exceeding a certain predetermined value.
This mechanism is known both in terms of its type of construction and in terms of its mode of operation and does not form an essential part of the control mechanism of the device described.
The servo device for controlling the inclination angle of the swash plate 26 has. a piston 28 which divides a cylinder into two chambers 29 and 30. The chamber 29 is connected to the outlet side of the pump 17 by a line 31, so that the pressure prevailing in the chamber 29 is equal to the fuel delivery pressure in the feed line 19.
The chamber 30 is also connected through the line 31. the outlet side of the fuel pump 17 is connected, but a constriction 32 is provided between the line 31 and the chamber 30. 30 is in the chamber. a spring 33 is arranged, which loads the piston 28 in the direction of a left-hand movement (Fig. 2) of this piston, d. H. in a direction which corresponds to an increase in the stroke of the piston 24 and consequently the delivery rate of the fuel pump 17.
A tapping line 34 through which fluid can leave the chamber 30 is also connected to the chamber 30. As is known, when fluid flows out of the chamber through the bleed line 34, the fluid pressure in the chamber 30 drops below the pressure prevailing in the chamber 29, as a result of the arrangement of the constriction 32 so that the piston is below the \ V4 The effect of the pressure prevailing in the chamber 29 seeks to move to the right in FIG.
However, if no fluid escapes through the line 34, the pressures in the chambers 29 and 30 are in equilibrium and the piston 28 is moved under the action of the spring 33 into a position that corresponds to the maximum stroke of the piston 24 corresponds.
The outflow of the fluid from the chamber 30 through the line 34 is controlled by the barometric control device 27. This barometric Steuervorrich device has according to FIG. 2, a housing 35 which has two chambers 36 and 37 which are ge separated by a flexible membrane 38 from each other. The latter wears. a pivot lever 39, the ends of which protrude into the chamber 36 and 37, respectively.
The end of the lever 39 protruding into the chamber 36 carries a hemispherical valve body 40 which can cooperate with a seat area that surrounds the outlet of the line 34 opening into the chamber 36, the chamber 36 being carried along by a line 41 the suction line 18 of the fuel pump 17 is connected.
If the load acting on the lever 39 is such that the valve body 40 is pressed firmly onto its seat, no fluid can escape through the line 34 and thus the stroke of the pump 17 increases, as does the load acting on the lever 39 is such that the valve body is lifted from its seat, so fluid flows from the chamber 30 through the tapping line 3.1, whereby the stroke of the piston 24 of the fuel pump 17 is reduced.
The lever 39 is arranged in such a way that it is controlled by three main loads: a) By a load that depends on the atmospheric pressure and is transmitted to the lever 39 by means of a vacuum can 42 arranged in the chamber 37, the chamber 37 through a line 43 is connected to any suitable atmospheric pressure point on the aircraft. As the atmosphere trick decreases, the can 42 expands and increases. the load acting on the lever 39.
The loading of the lever 39 proceeding from the can 42 acts to lift the valve body 40 from its seat.
b) By a load that depends on the difference in fuel pressures that prevails on both sides of the throttle 20 in the lines 19 and 21. This load acts on the lever 39 in the same way as the load mentioned under a) and is transferred to the lever 39 by means of a plunger 44 which is carried by a membrane 45.
The latter separates two chambers 46 and 47 from each other, the chamber 46 being closed by means of a line 48 to the line 21 between the throttle 20 and the shut-off valve 22, while the chamber 47 with means of a line 49 immediately upstream of the throttle 20 with the Feed line 19 is connected, so that the membrane 45 is loaded accordingly to the pressure drop in the throttle 20.
e) By a spring load, which the can 42 and the plunger 44 on the lever. 39 counteracts transmitted loads. This spring load is transmitted to the lever 39 by means of a plunger 50. One end of this plunger 50 protrudes into the chamber 36 and the other end into a chamber 51 in which a spring 52 is arranged. The spring is supported on an abutment 52a on the ram 50 and on another abutment 52b on an adjustable adjusting screw 53.
The chamber 51 is connected to the line 48 by means of a branch line 48a, which makes it possible to compensate for the difference between the effective areas of the two sides of the membrane 45.
The mode of operation of the barometric control device 27, which is known per se, will be briefly explained below. At constant atmospheric pressure, an increase in the pressure drop in the throttle 20 causes an increase in the load transmitted by the plunger 44 to the lever 39, where the valve body 40 is removed from the seat, so that fluid from the chamber 30 flows through the line 34 can flow, which results in a reduction in the pump stroke and the amount of fuel supplied to the system.
The reduction in the fuel flow causes the pressure drop in the throttle 20 to drop until the moments acting on the lever 39 = @ - keep one another in balance.
Conversely, the load transmitted by the plunger 44 to the lever 39 decreases when the pressure drop in the throttle 20 is smaller, whereby the valve body 40 is moved against its seat, so that less fluid can escape from the chamber 30 through the line 34; accordingly, the pump stroke increases until the dirt waste in the throttle 20 again assumes a value such that the moments of the loads acting on the lever 39 keep each other in balance.
When the atmospheric pressure falls, the load exerted on the lever 39 by the can 42 increases, whereby the valve body -40 is lifted from its seat and the pump stroke is reduced. Conversely, an increase in the atmospheric pressure causes a decrease in the load exerted by the tube 42 on the lever 39, which results in an increase in the fuel pump lift and the fuel supply to the system.
In the case of a fuel supply device as has just been described. it may be desirable to be able to bypass the effect of the barometric tax provision 27. For this purpose, the arrangement can be like this. It should be made sure that, if certain operating conditions exist, or if the barometric control device is to be bridged, fluid can be fed to the chamber 30, the pressure of which is greater. than the pressure prevailing in chamber 30.
So it may be desirable under certain circumstances to bypass the - '@' irlzuilg of the barometric control device 27 in order to prevent the amount of fuel fed to the system from falling below a certain minimum value, so that, especially at high altitudes, the danger the loosening of the flame in the combustion chambers can be avoided.
With. In other words, it is desirable in certain cases to prevent the pressure of the fluid in the chamber 30 from falling to a value which would otherwise have been reached under the action of the barometric control device 27.
In order to avoid the above-mentioned difficulties, the following arrangement is made: A device 55 is provided by means of which, when the amount of fuel flowing from the pump 17 through the feed line 19 to the throttle 20 falls to a predetermined value Valve is opened to allow flow through line 34 Driieklluiduln in the chamber 30, the Dhfick is greater than the pressure otherwise prevailing in the chamber 30 under the action of the barometric control device 27's.
The device 55 has a valve element 56, which mencooperates with an opening 57 and which acts against the fluid pressure load on it we kenden by means of a spring 58, which acts in the direction of closing the opening 57 through the valve element 56 on the latter . The valve head 56a. of the element 56 is shaped in such a way and the spring 58 has such a strength that the pressure difference prevailing in the line 1.9 on both sides of the device 55 is proportional to the amount of fuel flowing through the device 55.
The device 55 also has a valve body 59, which controls the pressure fluid flow from a chamber 61 which is connected by a branch line 60 to the feed line 19 upstream of the device 55 - this fluid flow through an opening 63 into a chamber 62 takes place, which forms part of the tap line 34.
The valve body 59 is carried by a flexible membrane 64 which separates the chamber 61 from a further chamber 65 which is connected by a branch line 66 to the line 49 and consequently downstream of the device 55 to the feed line 19 is loaded by a spring 67, namely the spring 67 acts in a direction which corresponds to a movement of the valve body 59, which allows the pressure fluid to flow through the opening 63 from the supply line 19 into the chamber 62, uni so to cause an increase in the pressure prevailing in the chamber 30.
It should be noted that the membrane 64 is exposed to a load that depends on the fluid flow through the feed line 19, and by appropriate selection of the strength of the spring 67 can be achieved that the valve body 59 normally closes the opening 63, that, however, when the fuel flow in the feed line 19 falls to a predetermined value, it opens the opening 63 so that the pressure fluid flows directly.
flows from the feed line 19 (bypassing the ba.rometric control device 27) into the chamber 30 and causes an increase in the fuel delivery.
As a result of the design described, under normal operating conditions the fuel flow through the feed line 19 is such that the load transferred to the membrane 64 is sufficient to cancel the load caused by the spring 67 and to hold the valve body 59 in a position in which the opening 63 is closed, so that the barometric control device 27 controls the delivery of the pump 17. If ever the fuel promotion falls to a certain value in front of, for.
B. at idle, in particular at greater altitudes, the pressure drop in the device 55 falls to such a value that the valve body 59 releases the opening 63 under the action of the spring 67, so that di-tlekfluidum flows into the chamber 30 , which causes an increase in the pressure in the chamber 30. When this happens, be moved. the piston 28 according to FIG. 2 to the left, whereby the stroke of the piston 24 of the pump 17 is increased and thus also the fuel delivery of the pump 1.7, which results in an increase in the pressure drop in the device 55.
The amount of fuel supplied to the system therefore comes into equilibrium at a certain minimum value, d. H. it is stabilized.
Since, when the barometric control device 27 is bridged, the pressure drop across the membrane 45 loads the lever 39 in the sense of opening the valve 40, it is necessary to ensure that the barometric star device 27 functions in the sense described, that the effective cross-section of the valve body 40 is so limited that no more fuel can flow out through the valve 40 than flows into the servo device through the opening 63.
Another arrangement is shown in Fig. 3 represents, in which the device 55 is arranged of the type. is that a pressure is maintained in the chamber 30 in order to prevent the fuel pressure in the manifold 16 from easily falling below a predetermined value. For this purpose, the device 55 has a valve member 459 which controls the fluid flow from a chamber 75 through the opening 63 into the chamber 62.
The valve member 459 is carried by a vacuum can 76, and the chamber 75 is connected by means of a line 77 either to the fuel collecting pipe 16 or to the Lei device 21, the latter connecting the throttle 20 to the shut-off valve 22, the pressure in the line 21 is approximately equal to the pressure in the manifold 16.
If during the operation of the system the pressure in the chamber 75, i. H. the fuel injection pressure exceeds a predetermined minimum value, which depends on the design of the can 76, the valve 459 is closed; However, if the fuel injection pressure threatens to drop below this predetermined value, the can 76 expands and actuates the valve member 459 in the sense of opening the opening 63, whereby pressure fluid can flow into the chamber 62 and the barometric control device 27 via is bridged.
Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which the device 55 for bypassing the barometric control device 27 is designed such that it becomes effective when the engine speed threatens to drop below a predetermined value.
In this example, the Vorrich device 55 has a valve member 559 which controls the opening 63 connecting the chamber 61 to the chamber 62, the valve member 559 being controlled by a centrifugal regulator 78 which is driven by the machine via a shaft 79 becomes. It is intended to move the valve member 559 against the action of a spring 80 in the sense of closing the opening 63 when the machine speed increases. When the machine speed reaches the predetermined value, the opening 63 is completely closed by the valve member 559, so that the barometric control device 27 operates normally.
If, on the other hand, the engine speed threatens to sink below the predetermined value, the valve member 559 releases the opening 63 so that pressure fluid can flow from the feed line 19 through the line 60 and the chamber 61 into the chamber 62, so that the barometric Steuervor direction 27 is bridged.
