Instrument for simultaneous distance measurement and mapping.
Instruments for simultaneous distance measurement and mapping include both a reading part and a mapping part.
The measuring part can be set in different directions (usually in the horizontal plane) and the distances to the points located in these directions can be measured. The obtained value of the distance then corresponds to a corresponding position of an organ that can be set during the measurement.
The mapping part is advantageous. adhered to the Ales part coupled, whereby the direction from the starting point to the distant point (object point) is automatically transferred to the mapping part. The latter is usually equipped with a movable organ, the position of which is automatically changed depending on the lare of the above-mentioned adjustable organ of the measuring part, and which, for example, consists of a drawing pen to mark the image corresponding to an object point on a below the pen Paper sheet can exist.
Arrangements are already known for the mechanical coupling of an organ of a mapping part, which is usually movable in radial direction, with an adjustable organ of a measuring part, but in this case the system cannot be rotated over a full 360. According to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided in that an organ which is rotatable with respect to the multi-part and the mapping part and which is arranged concentrically to the axis of rotation of the measuring part and the mapping part is used for the positive movement connection of the adjustable element of the measuring part with the rotatable element of the mapping part .
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention in the form of an instrument comprising a measuring part J7 and a mapping part K, the measuring part M of which can be detached from the mapping part K. The measuring part is rotatably supported by means of ball bearings in a sleeve H which is rotatably arranged in a frame S and can be fixed in the frame by a viewing hood F.
The measuring part includes a range finder with an adjustable member in the form of a slide 2, which receives a setting corresponding to the distance by means of a rotary knob 1 to be actuated when setting the desired distance.
The measuring part can otherwise be of any type. In the present example it contains two mutually adjustable telescopes 3 and 4, which together form an angle corresponding to the distance sought, the telescope 3 being stationary and the telescope 4 being pivotable about a horizontal axis 4a. The setting of the telescope 4 is done by turning the knob 1. The threaded rod 5 is rotated so that the slide 2 moves up or down along the rod.
The slide 2 acts on an arm 4b provided with a control link, which sits on the pivot axis 4a of the telescope 4 and therefore changes the angle between the adjustment directions of the two telescopes 3 and 4 during its movement in order to determine the angle at which an object from known length at the observation site.
After the correct setting of a desired distance has been achieved, the position of the slide @ this distance emerges.
The mapping part 1 1 comprises a ruler 7 which is provided with a toothed rack 6 and is displaceable in its longitudinal direction and which carries at one end a marking arrangement 8 having a pin. The ruler is carried by a cylindrical member 9 which is rotatably supported in a bearing 10 of the frame S and is connected via a coupling 11 to a cylindrical part 12 of the housing 13 of the measuring part 11.
By means of the coupling 11 and the cylindrical members 9 and 12 adjoining the same, the Mē and mapping parts are combined into a rotatable unit, whereby the ruler is achieved. 7 when the measuring part is set in a certain direction, the drawing pen is given a corresponding angular position with regard to the point 14 on the card paper corresponding to the starting point of the measurement, which of course lies in the extension of the axis of rotation of the instrument.
In order to ensure that the position of the drawing pin in all settings of the instrument faithfully reproduces the position of the point against which the instrument was directed, it is also necessary that the distance of the pin from the center of rotation (i.e. ¯ is proportional to point 14) of the set distance. In the present case, where the instrument works according to the principle of proportionality, the distance of the rotor 2 from a comparison point is proportional to the set distance.
The desired condition is fulfilled if the ruler always shifts by a distance which is proportional to the corresponding distance covered by the slider, if at the same time, by appropriately presetting the ruler, one ensures that the distance zero to the position of the pen is straight above point 14 arises.
The desired connection of the movements is created by the fact that the instrument contains an organ that can be rotated about the axis of rotation of the measuring and mapping parts in relation to the same, which in the embodiment shown is formed by a cylindrical member made up of two cylinders ¯rmigen pipe parts 15, 16 is composed. Each of the parts 15 and 16 carries a coupling part for releasable connection with the other, which coupling parts together form a coupling 17.
The pipe part 16 has a toothed ring 18 at its lower end, which cooperates with the rack 6, and on the upper egg) de of the pipe part 15 there is a conical gear wheel, which engages with a corresponding wheel on the axis 21 carrying the rotary knob 1 .
When measuring the distance of a point, the measuring part is first rotated in the direction towards the point, the ruler 7 of the mapping part K assuming a corresponding direction. Thereafter, the telescopes 3, 4 are set to the sought distance by turning the knob 1, the slide 2 being in such a position that its distance measured from a comparison point is proportional to the sought distance. When the knob 1 is turned, the pipe part 15 rotates and, because of the cooperation of the coupling 17, the pipe part 16, which influences the radial position of the ruler 7.
As can easily be seen, all of the parts mentioned have movements that are proportional to the movement of the slide, and the setting of the ruler 7 thus obtained represents the measured distance true to scale. 1) The mapping part K and the aleí3partU are, except through the Screw F together by means of a rod 22 and Alutter 23 @ After loosening. of these parts, the measuring part can be lifted off the mapping part due to the releasable couplings 11 and 17.
In the described instrument, the rotary movement of the measuring and mapping part is in no way hindered by the rotatable member (15 to 17), and it can take place over 360, since the member (15 to 17) is concentric to the common axis of rotation of the Aless and the mapping part is arranged.
