Parallax correcting device. The present invention relates to a parallax correcting device for a flat camera comprising a non-coaxial lens and viewfinder.
It is known that in cameras having a viewfinder that is not coaxial with the lens, the field delimited by the viewfinder does not exactly correspond to that of the lens. Obviously, the aiming error resulting from this state of affairs is all the greater as the axes of the viewfinder and the objective are separated from each other. However, if this aiming error is generally not very troublesome when the subject is far from the point of view, it is no longer the same in the case of a subject placed at a short distance. In the latter case, the operator has no possibility of centering his subject, so that the photograph obtained naked is often unbalanced and sometimes even to such an extent that part of the subject is cut off.
The present invention tends to obviate this drawback by the fact that the parallax corrector device has a removable mount carrying a refractive prism and one of the parts of a coupling, the other part of which is integral with the camera, and by the fact that each prism carried by a removable mount bears a visible inscription in the viewfinder during aiming and indicating the distance for which the center of the viewfinder field corresponds to the center of the field of the objective. The appended drawing shows, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the correcting device forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view with parts in section of a camera provided with the corrective device.
Fig. 2 is a partial front view. Fig. 3 illustrates the field perceived by the operator in the viewfinder.
The camera shown in the accompanying drawing comprises a housing 1 carrying an objective 2 of optical axis ra and a viewfinder of axis b, having an eye glass 3 and a field lens 4. The axes a and b are parallel and spaced from each other by the distance ç.
The housing 1 door, rigidly fixed to its front wall, a slide 5 constituting one of the parts of a coupling makes it possible to fix the parallax correcting device in the axis b. The latter comprises a removable frame 6 carrying guides 7 constituting the second part of the coupling, these guides being able to be engaged in the slide 5.
The removable mount 6 carries a refractive $ prism causing a deviation of an angle d of the optical axis -du viewfinder. This deviated axis e then intersects the optical axis a of the objective at a point S located at a distance f from the plane g of the film. Finally, the refractive prism gent S bears an inscription 9 indicating the value of this distance f, and arranged so as to be visible in the field of the viewfinder during sighting (FIG. 3).
From the foregoing and from the examination of the appended drawing, one can see the great practical advantages achieved by the invention. In fact, when the operator wishes to photograph an object situated at short distance, he chooses from a set of corrective devices such as described, that corresponding to the distance separating the subject from the shot of the film, then carries out the aim. Thanks to the corrective device mounted on the camera, the center of the viewfinder field is located in the center of the lens field,
since the optical axes cc and e intersect in the plane of the subject to be photographed.
Thanks to the inscription 9- carried by the prism, the operator has the possibility of checking during the aiming, if the corrective device mounted on the camera is indeed that necessary so that, given the distance from the subject, the center of view of the viewfinder corresponds to the center of the field of the lens. The coupling device making it possible to fix any one of the corrective devices of a set of such devices can be constituted by any known coupling device, with bayonet and others, making it possible to fix one object on another in a position. well defined axial and angular tion.
