Fig. 4 zeigt eines dieser Messer im Aufriss.
Fig. 9 zeigt schematisch die Arbeitsweise der Messer.
Man bezeichnet: mit<I>k</I> das Verhältnis

Ferner <I>r</I> = R cos <I>i (10)</I> wobei r der Krümmungsradius der absoluten Bahn im Punkte P ist.

EMI0006.0004
daher ist d"", = 12013'1" f ", = 771146'59" Man hat k 2 + 1- 2k cos f", = 1,053474 <I>2</I> Mit der Formel (18) erhält man
EMI0006.0009
Dem entspricht fi = 55 3126" Ig sin f; = 9,9136679 - 10 Mit der Formel (16) findet man k (1 + m) - cos f;
= 4,15287 daher Ig tg d"i = 9,2953196 - 10 dem entspricht d"i = 1109'5711 Bei der Berechnung der Winkel f e und d",, erhält man mit der Formel (17)
EMI0006.0013
EMI0008.0013
EMI0008.0018
Method and machine for cutting bevel gears with curved teeth using the continuous hobbing process. The invention relates to a method for cutting bevel gears. with curved teeth according to the continuous hobbing process, using a tool designed as a disc, carrying a plurality of fixed knives, which is rotatable about an axis that is parallel to the axis of the ideal face cone wheel of the toothing to be produced, with tool and Make a continuous rotary movement of the workpiece. The invention relates to a machine for carrying out this method.
In a known machine of this type, all of the blades of the tool work in a single tooth gap during one complete revolution of the same. Most of the knives of the tool are used for pre-cutting, only a single pair of knives, the knives of which are usually diametrically opposed to each other, is seen for finishing before. In addition to certain. However, it has the advantages of this known machine, the disadvantage of a slow operation, since only a single tooth is machined during one revolution of the tool.
To remedy this disadvantage, attempts have already been made to have a plurality of teeth processed by the cutting knife during a single rotation of the tool. However, this idea could not be put into practice so far for the reasons given below. It is known that the continuous hobbing process requires the simultaneous rotation of the tool and the workpiece.
If you consider the corresponding ideal bevel face gear instead of the bevel gear teeth to be cut, the problem of the continuous hobbing process is reduced geometrically to the consideration of the path from a point rotating around the axis of the tool on the plane of the tool rotating ideal conical face gear is drawn, the axis of which is parallel to the) tool axis.
In this case, the absolute path on this plane, i.e. the longitudinal curve of a tooth of the toothing to be produced, is different from the relative circular path of the point, and the two paths form an angle with one another which undergoes considerable changes over the length of a tooth can, as soon as the speed of rotation of the plane cone wheel with respect to that of the tool one. reached a certain value.
As already mentioned, the known Ma machine is built so that for one complete revolution of the tool, the face cone wheel only rotates to produce one tooth of the toothing. In this case the angle between the aforementioned absolute and relative paths of a point on the tool and the changes in this angle along the curve of a tooth are of practically negligible size.
However, it has been shown that in this machine, if you would rotate the bevel gear or the workpiece at greater speed, so that two or more teeth of the toothing to be produced could be processed during one rotation of the tool, the change in angle between the The absolute and the relative path of a point on the tool along the tooth curve can be up to 4.
With this angle, however, the cutting angle of the tool also changes along the tooth curve. However, so that the knife can cut along the entire tooth curve, the cutting angle should not change too much. So it can be processed with the known machine only one tooth or a tooth gap of the toothing to be produced per revolution of the tool, and this Ma machine no longer meets today's demands on performance.
With the method and the machine according to the present invention, the production of bevel gears with ge curved teeth is made possible by the continuous rolling process with simultaneous processing of several teeth of the toothing to be produced during a single rotation of the tool.
In the relevant literature only very sparse theoretical and practical information can be found on the problem of the production of curved gears, and in the following the theoretical and practical principles obtained on the basis of long investigations are described which the production of bevel gears according to the invention allow with curved teeth.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that, during one revolution of the tool, the workpiece rotates around several teeth of the toothing to be produced, whereby, in order not to impair the cutting effect of the teeth, it is ensured that
that the maximum value of the variable angle between the absolute path and the relative circular path of a point of the cutting knife is in the middle part of the tooth and the said variable angle between the said absolute path and the said relative circular path over the entire length of the tooth compared to the the specified maximum value changes by less than <B> 2130 '</B>.
The machine for performing this method is characterized in that at least one tool carries a plurality of fixed knives, the cutting part of which is formed by an elongated body of trapezoidal cross-section and circular arc-shaped longitudinal axis, and of which knives alternately one with respect to the The tool axis with its outside and the other with its inside cuts and the outside cutting knives under themselves and the inside cutting knives under the same radial stand from the axis of rotation of the tool and all knives have the same mutual angular distances, the knives with respect to the axis of rotation are arranged according to such an orientation angle,
that the circular arc-shaped longitudinal axis of the knife body of all knives approximately coincides with the absolute path of a point of the knife on the ideal plane cone surface of the toothing that cuts züi.
An example embodiment of the method according to the invention is explained with reference to the accompanying drawings, which also represent tools from an embodiment of the machine according to the invention for cutting the toothing.
Fig. 1 is a geometric scheme to explain the formation of a tooth curve, which is valid for an example of the method in .dem rotate the tool and the ideal bevel gear in the same sense.
Fig. 2 is a similar geometric scheme, but relates to a game Ausführungsbei, in which the tool and the ideal bevel gear have opposite direction of rotation.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of a tool of the sixteen cutting knife machine. Fig. 4 shows one of these knives in elevation. Fig. 5 and 6 are plan views of parts of two tools of a machine, two knives are shown, one of which is effective with its outer edge, the other with its inner edge to machine the two tooth flanks of a tooth. Fig. 6 shows the position of the knife in the case of the opposite rotational movement of the tool and ideal plan bevel gear. Fig. 5 shows. the position of the knives in the case of parallel movement of the tool and ideal face bevel gear.
7 and 8 are two radial sections through the tools according to FIGS. 5 and 6 and each show a knife, one of which cuts with the outer edge and the other with the inner edge.
Fig. 9 shows schematically the operation of the knives.
1 and 2 show how the absolute trajectory of a point of the knife on the ideal plane cone surface can be determined graphically.
U is the center of the tool that rotates in the direction of arrow 1. 0 is the center of the ideal face bevel gear, which rotates in the direction of arrow 2 in FIG. 1, i.e. in the same direction as the tool, and in FIG. 2 in the direction of arrow 2 ', i.e. opposite to the tool. P is a point of a knife of the tool, which rotates around the center U with the radius a. The circular line 3 with the radius a and your center T 'thus represents the relative path of the point P of the tool.
Starting from point P, 3 equal parts are now removed on the circle, and arcs 4 are drawn around the center 0 through the partial points on the circle. It should be assumed that the ratio of the angular velocities of the tool and the bevel gear is 8: 1. Then the angle MON is worn on the plane cone surface, which is the eighth part of the angle PUQ that the point P passes through until the point Q is reached.
From the circular line 3, the arc pieces MN, TI ', RR', WW 'and 6'V' are removed on the corresponding arc 4, taking into account the rotary movement of the 'tool and the ideal face bevel gear, namely the arc 11N in Fig. 1 removed twice from point Z on the corresponding arc, since the planar bevel gear has rotated further by two arc pieces 17N until the tool has reached point P from point Z. The arc section T'T 'is removed once, the arc section RR' also once, but in the opposite direction, the arc section WW twice and the arc section VV 'three times.
Also in Fig. 2, these arc pieces are accordingly abgetra conditions on the circular arc 4, but in the opposite direction to Fig. 1, since see in Fig. 2, the bevel gear rotates in the opposite direction. If you now connect the points carried on the circular arc with each other, you get the curve APB, which represents the absolute path of the point P rotating around U on the level of the ideal bevel gear rotating around 0, the ratio of the angular speeds of the bevel gear and tool 1: 8, and in Fig. 1 bevel gear and point P rotate in the same direction and in Fig. 2 in the opposite direction.
This absolute path -1PB represents the longitudinal curve of a tooth of the toothing to be produced, that is, the line of intersection of a tooth of the ideal face bevel gear with its partial plane. As seen in Fig. 1 and 2 who can, the absolute path has in both cases an arc-like shape and is the same as the relative circular path.
In less general terms, this means that the angle between the absolute path and the relative circular path can be quite large at any point on the path, but that this angle must not experience any great changes over the entire longitudinal curve of a tooth so that the cutting effect of the fixed knife of the tool along the tooth flanks is not affected. The knives are set according to the most favorable cutting angle and this cutting angle only experiences very small changes when the knife moves from one tooth end to the other.
It must be between the orientation angle d '(Fig. 5 and 6) of the knife in the cutter head, on the one hand, and the angle d "(Fig. 1 and 2) between the absolute path (longitudinal curve of a tooth) and the relative path of a point Knives, on the other hand, can be distinguished.
The orientation angle d 'of the knife in the knife head is a fixed and constant value that is selected according to the rules and practical requirements for the construction of the knife head. In the example described below be the value of this Win angle z. B. has been assumed to be 12 "11".
This fixed orientation angle d 'of the knife in the cutter head corresponds to the angle d "m in the middle part of the longitudinal curve of the tooth to be cut. The following formulas are used to ensure that the changeable angle d" extends over the entire length of a tooth changes with respect to its maximum by less than 2 30 ', so that the cutting effect of the knives is not impaired.
The variable angle d ″ between the absolute and the relative path is in these cases the angle <I> UPC, </I> which is formed between the radius <I> UP, </I> which is normal to the relative circular path , and the line PC, which is normal to the absolute orbit at point P.
The properties of the absolute trajectory of point P result from the geometric and mechanical conditions described below, compliance with which ensures that the variable angle d "over the entire longitudinal curve of the teeth is less than, with respect to its maximum, 21130 'changes.
One denotes: with <I> k </I> the ratio

where a is the radius of the tool and b is the eccentricity 0U of the axis of the tool with respect to the main axis of the machine which coincides with the axis o of the ideal bevel gear; with m the ratio between the angular speeds of the tool and the ideal face bevel gear; with a fine auxiliary angle that is introduced to facilitate the calculation.
It has been found that the maximum value of the variable angle d ", which is to be denoted by d, with the same rotational movement of the tool and planar bevel gear (Fig. 1) see results from the following formula: tg d" m = -etg f (1)
EMI0004.0021
b = a (mI) sin d "", (3) The pitch angle i (complementary angle to the spiral angle of the toothing) of the absolute path, i.e. the angle CPO between the normal to the absolute path at point P and the radius R results from following formula:

EMI0004.0032
<I> b = </I> u. <I> (1 + m) </I> are "", <B> (7) </B> tg i = - m, tg d "", <B> (8)
</B> The following formula is valid for both cases R = <I> = </I> a.2 <I> + b = + 2 ab </I> cos <I>f</I> <B> (9) </B> where R is the distance of the point P (where the angle d "has the maximum value) from the center 0 of the ideal face bevel gear. Furthermore <I> r </I> = R cos <I> i ( 10) </I> where r is the radius of curvature of the absolute path at point P. As far as the ratios of the speeds are concerned, the number of teeth n of the bevel gear or the workpiece to be cut during one rotation of the tool must be taken into account.
If one assumes that 1'V is the tooth number of the bevel gear, then one has
EMI0005.0005
In the case of gearboxes with orthogonal axes is. the formula is known:
EMI0005.0006
where Z "number of teeth of the wheel and Z, means number of teeth of the pinion.
The ratio of the angular velocity between the workpiece with Z teeth and the tool is. given by
EMI0005.0010
whereby for Z revolutions of the tool the workpiece must make n revolutions.
Using the given formulas, for the case of the same direction as the opposite movements. All kinematic and geometric elements required for the tool and workpiece are calculated so that the tool can machine several teeth during one rotation.
With the given formulas it can be achieved that the value of the variable angle <I> d "</I> depends on the quantities <I> k </I> and <I> m </I> with respect to its maximum changes by less than 21130 '. The absolute trajectory is preferably determined in such a way that the greatest value of the angle d "within the length of the tooth curve lies approximately in the middle of this curve and that it is slightly towards the two ends of the tooth curve decreases. The angle learns. c1 "only very small changes from one end of the curved tooth to the other, so that the cutting effect of the teeth is not impaired.
In order to prove that the change in the angle d "over the entire length of the tooth depends on the ratios <I> k </I> and <I> m </I> and that this change is less than 2" 30 ' is, the procedure is as follows: With counter-rotating movement of the ideal face bevel gear and the tool can. the general formula (9) can be written as follows R '= b2 (k \ = + 1 - 2k cos f) (15) Each value f corresponds to an angle d "given by the formula

is determined.
If the value given by the formula (6) is assumed for cos f, the angle! D "receives the maximum value d" "" which is calculated both using the formula (16) and using the formula (5). can be. The length of the tooth extends between the outer radius Re and the inner radius Ri of the ideal face bevel gear. Rm is the mean radius between Re and Ri.
In practice it is known that Re - Ri = 0.3 + 0.4 Rna that is in the worst case

With the formulas (17) and (18) the angle f e and therefore the angle d "e, as well as the angle f; and therefore the angle d"; it can be calculated if the values <I> k </I> and <I> m </I> are given.
Example: k = 0.52507 m = 8 Using the formula (6) one obtains

therefore d "", = 12013'1 "f", = 771146'59 "One has k 2 + 1-2k cos f", = 1.053474 <I> 2 </I> With the formula (18) man
EMI0006.0009
This corresponds to fi = 55 3126 "Ig sin f; = 9.9136679 - 10 With the formula (16) one finds k (1 + m) - cos f;
= 4.15287 therefore Ig tg d "i = 9.2953196 - 10 which corresponds to d" i = 1109'5711 When calculating the angles f e and d ",, one obtains with the formula (17)
EMI0006.0013
One has Ig sin fe = 9.9879867 - 10 When applying the formula (16) the denominator k (1 + m) + cos fe = 4.95763 therefore Ig tg d ", = 9.2927152 - 10 dne = 110 6r 3 "This proves that both angles d",. And d "; are smaller than cl ", and that the greater change between d", and d, it follows, i.e. d "", - d ", = 1 6'58". This change is only dependent on k and m and within a tooth length this change remains smaller than 2 30 '.
From a practical point of view, the pitch angle i of the teeth is important, which is determined by means of the specified formulas (4) and (8) as a function of the predetermined maximum value d "", the angle <I> d "</I> the ratio <I> m </I> between the angular speeds of the tool and the ideal face bevel gear corresponding to the toothing to be produced.
The eccentricity of the tool axis in relation to the main axis of the machine, which coincides with the axis of the ideal face bevel gear., Is calculated using formulas (3) and (7) as a function of the tool radius a, the ratio m and the maximum angle d "" "between the two tracks.
The ratio between the angular speeds of the tool and the workpiece is the same as the ratio between the number of teeth and the number of teeth that are to be machined during one revolution of the tool.
Naeh the description of the method described, a description of the whole machine for the production of bevel gears with curved teeth is no longer necessary, since the structural features of this machine do not differ from those of known machines for producing such gears according to the continuous generating process. In contrast, the tools have special features. The tool shown in Fig. 3, for example, is designed as a disk 6, wel surface is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the partial conical surface of the ideal plane bevel gear of the toothing produced and carries sixteen fixed knives, which are arranged in pairs SI, 82 along the circumference of the Seheibe are.
The Seheibe 6 be seated. for this purpose grooves 7, 8 in which the knives are screwed tight by means of visual screws 9. The cutting parts of the individual messei have the shape of an elongated body K with a trapezoidal cross-section, the upper part of which having the cutting edge 10 or 17 is preferably delimited by circular conical lines. is.
The longitudinal axis e of this body K is. circular and its radius of curvature is approximately equal to the value r, which is calculated using the formula (10). becomes. More precisely, see the center of curvature of the circular axis e of the knife body on a straight line that is tangential to a circle with. the radius s around the center Z 'of the tool, where the radius s approximately corresponds to the distance <B> FC </B> in Fig. 1 and 2 and with the formula: S = (c sin d "", (14) can be calculated.
The maximum value of the variable angle d ", that is, the angle d" "" is equal to the orientation angle of the knife and is determined using the above formulas as a function of the ratios m and <I> k </I>.
From Fig. 9 it can be seen that the circular arc-shaped longitudinal axis of the cutting part K of the knife in the tool coincides approximately with the absolute path of a knife point i -1111 of the ideal plane cone surface. It results from the formulas (1) and (5) that the orientation angle d '= d "," for the two cases of equidistant and opposite rotational movement of the tool and the ideal face bevel gear deviates from the radial in the opposite direction. Of the two knives SI, S2 of a pair, one knife SI cuts alternately with its outside (edge 10) and the other knife S2 with its inside (edge 11) in relation to the tool axis.
The knife S1 of one pair processes the concave flank of a tooth 12 (FIG. 9) and the knife S2 processes the convex flank of a tooth. Have the appropriate knives SI and S2 of each pair. the same radial distance from the axis of rotation of the tool and the angular distances of all individual knives are equal to one another.
With the knives is. always only .the one trapezoidal edge 10 or 11 is formed as a cutting edge. The point. P1 or P2, which corresponds to the pitch circle of the toothing to be cut on each visual cutting edge, is called the partial point of the inner or outer visual cutting edge. The subpoints P1 and P2 of all knives of a tool owner. the lead radial distance \ a from the axis of rotation of the tool, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.
As can be seen from Fig. 5 and 6, the sub-points P1 and P2 of the outer and inner Sehneidkante the knife on a circle 14 which is concentric to the axis of rotation LT of the tool. From Fig. 9 it is known that the knives S1 and S2 of a pair of knives migrate through the lead tooth gap 15 of the toothing to be cut and machine the opposing tooth flanks of two teeth.
In the following, a practical example of the production of a toothing according to the method according to the invention will be explained. It is assumed that a gear pair with orthogonal axes is to be produced, of which the pinion has the number of teeth Z = 27 and the wheel the number of teeth 71. = 58 have. The tool should have a radius a = 75 mm and have eight pairs of knives, which are arranged at an orientation angle of d '= 12 11', according to the example of FIG. 6, that is, with the opposite rotary movement of the tool and the ideal face bevel gear .
In this case, formulas (5) to (8) are to be used.
The values assumed for the variable angle d "on the outer and inner circular surface of the gear to be cut (or the ideal face bevel gear) depend on the values of the outer and inner radii of the ideal face bevel gear the center of the tooth d "", = 12 11 '; at the outer end d "= 11 38' and at the inner end d" = 11 24 ', where the angle value is from d ", n = 12 11' up to 11138 'and gradually decreases up to 11 24'.
The angle difference is for the outer end = 12 11 '- 11 38' = 33 'and for the inner end = 12 "11' - 11 24 '= 47'. The variable angle between the absolute path and the relative circular path of a The point of the cutting knife thus changes over the entire length in relation to the maximum 12 11 'by less than <B> 2'30'. </B>
The formula (12) is used to calculate the
EMI0008.0013
and with formula (11) one gets m = 8.0155.
Since the angle <I> d '= </I> d "", <I> = </I> 12 11' was assumed, the angle f can be calculated using formula (5), which results in 77 49 ' .
The eccentricity b can be determined with formula (7), which results in 142.8 mm. This value b can also be calculated with the formula (6) by first determining the ratio k, which results in 0.52507. From this b is calculated, where
EMI0008.0018
Then the angle i is calculated with the formula (8), where i = 60 results.
Using formulas (9) and (10), R and r are obtained, which give R = 175, r = 87.5.
To cut the pinion with Z = 27 teeth, the ratio of the angular speeds must be. between the workpiece and the tool
EMI0008.0020
so that for every 27 revolutions of the tool there are eight revolutions of the workpiece.
