Carrier wave telecommunication installation. The present invention relates to a telecommunication installation to uncle carrier, in which a plurality of subscriber stations -, have connected to a coin-ZD line mime of transmission and can, uniquely with each other and with the subscriber stations of the ceiitnil office via a common terminal station.
In installations of this --ejire, it is possible to employ a first carrier frequency for transmission in a ss (for example (the terminal station at </ B > seit the subscriber) and united second carrier frequency for transmission in the opposite direction, in order to avoid (unwanted interference phenomena (whistling)
resulting from the intermodulation of the sidebands (the two applied carrier waves siiiiultaneiii ù the input, say, of an amplifier receiver.
Although this solution is satisfactory for communications, in which two subscribers connected to different links communicate with each other via the intermediary (their respective terminal station and a common central waterway, difficulties . ,, - occur (In the case of a communication between two subscribers linked to the same partalo-ec line,
because these two situations normally use the first carrier frequency puiii, the reception and the second carrier wave for the transmission.
The use of button control to selectively cut off one or the other subscriber carrier uncle being impracticable in the case of an installation intended for outgoing communications passing through a central office , the pre-designed solutions proposed require. relatively complicated equipment to be employed. Thus ,,., following a solution.
proposed, the circuits either of the calling subscriber or of the called subscriber are cliangés during communications between two subscribers connected to the same 1-vi-ta. line, managed, so that the carrier frequencies of transmission and reception of this subscriber are inter-related, and he was then born,
-. to take the appliance out of service. i1 # niettenr from the terminal station and send # 7ej- un. busy signal to the central office for the duration of these calls.
Also, of the fact that the transmission then takes place directly between the two subscribers without the intervention of a modulating device at the terminal station, the use of Special equipment, such as an automatic gain control device in a wide range of terminal stations, becomes necessary to achieve satisfactory transmission.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a transmission installation,; ini-plified, of the hpe -, generally described, in which it is no longer necessary to have recourse to the expedients mentioned above. us.
For this purpose,]. 'Following installation The invention uses three different carrier frequencies, the first of which (fj is used exclusively for transmission to from from the terminal station to the subscriber stations of the common line, slum that the second (f2) and the third (f,) serve interchangeably to < / B> the to call from any station on the line shared with the terminal station,
each station of the common line having a device for transmitting selectively on the second or on the third frequency depending on the type of communication, the whole arranged so that, during the communication between any two stations of the common line, the terminal station received,
oit the messages of the calling station and the called station respectively on the third and on the second frequency and retransmits these messages on the first frequency, and qLLe, during a communication between ime station of </ B > the common line and a so-called central office station, the terminal station receives messages from the station of the common line on the second frequency and transmits them to the central office, and retransmits on the first frequency the messages coming from the central office, the selection of the called station being made by the central office.
To avoid confusion on the part of the called subscriber as to the to frequency to to use, it is generally advantageous to arrange each subscriber station in such a way. that it normally emits a particular frequency of its two assigned frequencies, preferably the second frequency which is that used for communications with the exterior, and. to provide each station with a switch which must be operated on each call for which the other frequency, for example the third, must be used.
The device provided at the terminal station for retransmission to a subscriber called during communications between two subscribers re-linked to - the same shared line, may include a partially asymmetrical differential transformer. It will be advantageous to provide identical circuits at the terminal station for the reception of the second and third frequencies, respectively, in order to simplify the installation by ensuring a uniform sequence of operations for roofs calls.
The invention is particularly intended to to be employed with power transmission lines serving as transmission lines between subscriber stations and. the terminal station. The drawing represents, to. by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.

It is selected by the band filter 42 arranged in the circuit < B> 31. The selected wave of frequency f. is amplified in amplifier 43 and rectified in emodulator 44. The rectified current which leaves the latter actuates relay 49.
This closes, by its left-hand contacts, the line 35 which, through appropriate couplings (not shown) a-Li central office 36, puts a lamp or other calling device. in this office and calls an operator to work. By its right-hand contacts, the relay 49 connects the energy source 48 with CI the oscillator 39, the amplifier 37 and the The high frequency transmission amplifier 40, all arranged in the transmission circuit 30, and therefore activates them.
The carrier oscillations of the frequency f, are transmitted from the carrier oscillator 39 to the modulator 38 and the unmodulated component of the frequency f, leaving this modulator is transmitted to through- -, - to the amplifier at high frequency 40, the band filter of transmission 41 and the coupler device 2 to the energy transmission line 1, from which it reaches to all the stations of 'subscribers -1 to D on this line.

to reach at line 1 on which they are transmitted to the terminal station CT. In this one , the carrier waves modulated by voice and of the frequency f-, pass to through the coupling device 2 to the receiving circuit 31. There they finally arrive, from the manner described below for unmodulated carrier bungs of the frequency f2, a-Li demodulator 44.
The latter demodulates the voice signals of the carrier wave, and a part of these demodulated signals is transmitted to through the differential transformer 33 and the voice transmission line < B> 35 (kept constantly closed under the action of relay 49) to the central office 36, where it is heard by the operator.
The subscriber to station A tells him with which subscriber on a foreign installation to the current to installation bearer he wishes to link and. the operator calls this subscriber on the associated telephone network in the usual way and establishes communication between the two subscribers to through the office, central 36, the line 35, the CT terminal station and line 1._ Subscribers can now meet.
The called subscriber's voice signals are transmitted on the central office voice frequencies on the line at voice frequency 35 at the terminal station < B> CI ' and there to the differential transformer 33 - arranged on the transmission circuit 30. In this circuit ,, the voice signals of the called subscriber are amplified in the amplifier 3.7, modulated in the modulator 38 on the door-Lises oscillations of the frequency f , coming from assistant oscillator 39 activated by relay 49.
The carrier oscillations to vocal modulation on the frequency f, which come out of the modulator are amplified in amplifier 40 and pass to through the filter of en-dssion band 41 and the coupler device 2 to the power transmission line 1 to arrive at the station A. There, the carrier waves with voiced modulation of the frequency f, pass to through the coupler device 2 to be selected by the band filter 14 arranged in the reception circuit 4. The selected signals are amplified in the amplifier 15, demodulated in the demodulator 16, for finally be heard by subscriber A by means of the 17. listener.
When the interview is finished, the subscriber to the station A puts his headset back on the fork of switch 12, the contacts of which he thus opens to interrupt the arrival. energy to the oscillator 8. This one stops sending carrier waves of the frequency f. on the line 1.
At the OT terminal station, the relay 49 sensitive to, these waves stops carrying energy from the oscillator and amplifiers, to the transmitting circuit 30, </ B > so it cuts off the transmission on frequency f, on line 1. At the same time, it opens line 35 and cuts off con connection of the central office 36 with the terminal station CT, the latter returning to its normal state of inactivity.
At the request of a subscriber on a network associated with the central office 36, an operator of the latter may, make a call to - The subscriber on the line 1, by emitting a ringing current, for example 20 Hertz, on line 35 to activate relay 51. < / B> In this one, the left contacts then closed complete the connection of the line 35 on the differential transformer 33 of la.
CT terminal statioii, allowing a-Li ringing current to enter the transmit circuit 30 and be applied to the input of the modulator 38 . The closed right-hand contacts of relay 51 cause the switching on by source 48 of the carrier wave oscillator 39 </ B > and amplifiers 37 and 40 placed in the transmission circuit 30, so that a wave carries amplified by the frequency f, modulated by the ringing current received from the central office 36,
is transmitted to through the coupler device 2 and on line 1 to stations, - from subscribers A to </ I > D. The portion of this modulated carrier wave arriving at each subscriber station A to D is selected by the receive band filter 14 , amplified by amplifier 15 and demodulated in demodulator 16 to activate buzzer 1.8 and the busy signal lamp, like this has just been described above.
Since the relay 51, and with it the devices arranged in the transmission circuit 30, are only in an active state during application ( read ringing current on the relay, the operator at the small central office, interrupting the ringing current at intervals defined according to a particular code at the station to call, interrupt at the same rate the modulated carrier current of transmission of the frequency f, and Billing 18 at each of the stations A to D.

to supply the relay 28 by the battery 29. By actuating said relay 28 in the manner described with reference reference to in fig. 3, the tuning of the carrier wave oscillator 8 is changed to the carrier frequency f ..,. Then, still holding the key closed, the subscriber -1 removes the receiver 26 from the fork of the switch 12, this (causes him that the oscillator < B> 8 is powered by source 11 and relay 28 by battery 29, in the aforementioned manner.
The subscriber to station A small then release the key 227 without the relay 28 changing position and without the oscillator 8 ceasing to emit carrier oscillations of the frequency f, to the modulator 7, arranged on the same circuit of emission 3. The unmodulated wave component of the frequency f, coming out of the modulator 7 is amplified by the amplifier 9 and the amplified product is transmitted to through the band filter 10 and the coupler device 2 to line 1 on which it arrives at the terminal station CT. There it.
arrives to through the coupler device 2 to the reception circuit 32, where it is selected by the reception band filter 45., amplified by the amplifier at high frequency 46 and rectified by demodulator 47, and actuates relay 50.
This closes., By its left-hand contacts, -, the lilo, only 35 on the central office 36 to activate a lamp or other device. 'operator call. By its right-hand switches, the actuated relay 50 closes the supply circuit of the source 48 of the os cillator 39 and (the amplifiers .-, < B> 37 and 40, all arranged in the circuit (the transmission, 30 of the terminal station CP. From this rise, (the carrier waves of the frequency f, are sent by oscillator 39 to modulator 38,
then to the amplifier 40, to the transmission band filter 41 and via the positive coupler 2 to the power transmission line 1 which transmits them to stations A. to D to light the busy signal lamps in these the way already described above, to let subscribers nés to these stations know that the line is busy.
By speaking into his microphone 5, the subscriber to station A modulates with his voice the carrier waves of the frequency f ,, coming from the oscillator 8, and the wave thus modulated is transmitted via the line 1 to the demodulator 47 arranged in the reception circuit 32 of the terminal station CT, as has just been described in with regard to the unmodulated wave of the frequency f ,,. The demodulated voice signals from subscriber A are then transmitted to the central office operator 36 at through the differential transformer 33 and line 35 previously activated.
This rings station B in the manner described in connection with to a call from a subscriber on an associated foreign network.
Subscriber B answers to the call by lifting the receiver 26 from the fork of the switch 12 and in this way activates the oscillator 8 to make it transmit Lise carrier waves of frequency f2 (because the 27 key of this station has not been manipulated) to the modulator 7 of its transmission circuit 3; by speaking into its microphone 5, it makes by shooting voice signals on the line at the normal frequency f, to the CT terminal station.
In this, the voice-modulated Lise carrier wave is transmitted by the neck device 2 into the reception circuit 31, where it is selected by the reception band filter 42 , amplified by the high frequency to amplifier 43 and demodulated in the demodulator 44.
Some of the demodulated voice signals from subscriber B arrive from demodulator 44 to through unbalanced differential transformer 33 to the circuit transmission 30 from the terminal station CT, where it first undergoes -an amplification in the amplifier 37 to then modulate the carrier wave of the frequency f ,. in the ÔS modulator. The subscriber's voice signals on the carrier wave of the frequency f, are then transmitted to through the amplifier to high frequency 40,
the band filter 41 and the coupler device 2 of the terminal station and finally by the energy transport league to the subscriber station A. Here, the receiving carrier wave of the frequency f, modulated by the voice signals of subscriber B enter the reception circuit 4 and the voice signals of subscriber B leaving the demodulator 16 </ B > arranged in this circuit are transmitted to the listener 17 to be heard by the subscriber A.
The voice signals of the subscriber  A,  who made the call, modulated on a carrier wave of the frequency  f,  and received by the terminal station of the line  1,  are demodulated in an analogous manner in the demodulator 47 disposed in the reception circuit  32;
the demodulated voice signals pass to through the unbalanced differential transformer 33 in the terminal station CT to the transmit circuit < B> 30, in which they are ' modulated on the carrier wave of frequency f, To then go through line 1 and arrive at station B where they are demodulated in demodulator 16 and finally heard by subscriber B in his earpiece 17.
When the conversation between the subscriber stations A and B is completed, the subscriber who made the call puts his earpiece back on the oven of switch 12, to cut off the supply to oscillator 8 and stop the transmission at f ,,, then it sets the oscillator tuning to the normal frequency f. (as described in with fig. 3). In a similar way, subscriber B, by putting his earpiece 26 back on, cuts the power supply to </ B > the oscillator to carrier frequency and stops sending waves on frequency f2 on line 1. The circuits of the ter station minale CT return to their normal state, because relays 49 and 50 are released.
This embodiment of the object of the invention has been described in an application using the energy transmission line 1 as a carrier track for a single telephony installation to current carrier. However, it is understood that one could just as easily operate a different number of load-bearing installations using a single power transmission line, or other common line, if Fon provides for three different frequencies. , carriers for each installation or channel.
In this case, a separate terminal station would be used for each individual installation, terminal stations which would all be attached to the same or to different central offices, devices and circuits being the same as those described previously, h I except for changes to willators and band filters, changes (lu-, to the use of different carrier frequencies for the different facilities.
