In Abb.
Arrangement for rectifying alternating current. It is known to use synchronously 2-driven switching elements to build a mechanically based equilibrium. The synchronism is generally guaranteed here by a synchronous motor connected to the mains voltage that is to be rectified.
However, since the phase position between voltage and current and the steepness with which the current passes through zero according to its magnitude, depends on the type of load, it is essential for such rectifiers to function properly necessary to provide additional equipment. In particular, it has been suggested using so-called switching chokes to generate a low-sirom pause during a time of approximately 1 to 2 ms, within which the contact is separated.
The width of the low-current break is essentially given by the) size of the load change and the required overload capacity. However, since sparks still develop, (mainly capacitive) parallel paths to the contacts are provided. The costs for selective chokes, parallel paths and additional control and safety devices generally make up the main part, see above. that the device is severely fired by the additional devices.
In order to save the control and safety devices in particular, it was proposed that the movement of the contacts should no longer be brought about by a motor running synchronously with the voltage, but that this movement should be brought about directly by the current and in particular to derive from the current curve in the vicinity of the zero transition.
This has the advantage that the switching chokes can also be made smaller, in that it is no longer necessary to take into account the change in the current zero passage over time as a function of the load. However, switching chokes and parallel paths are generally still necessary.
The present invention relates to an arrangement for the rectification of 'alternating current, which is also based on in wesent union mechanical basis, but which is much simpler compared to the known designs mentioned. The arrangement is characterized by at least one switch and at least one flow valve, which switch has at least one sehaltkontakt and at least one switching element that is electrically influenced by the calibrated alternating current, since
s the hold contact operated and its excitation winding in series with the switch contact. where the flow control valve is connected in parallel, the first switching contact, flow control valve and switching element working together in such a way that when the alternating current rises, the current flows through the flow control valve until the current has reached the response value of the control element, whereupon the switching contact closes, go that the flow valve is short-circuited,
while with decreasing alternating current when the drop value of the switching element is reached, the hold contact opens, so that the current flows through the flow control valve, secondly, when the flow direction is reversed, due to the blocking effect of the stronive valve, there is no influence on the selective control element and thirdly, the switch is designed in such a way that the target current and the switching time of the switching element are so small
that the flow valve is only dimensioned for a current strength that is at least. is an order of magnitude smaller than the nominal load current.
Figs. 1 and 2 show two exemplary arrangements of the invention for one-way gliding riclitu-ng.
In Fig. <B> 1 </B>: <B> 1 </B> mean the feeding alternating current source, 2 the switch with the switching element <B> 8, </B> the switching clock <B> 3 </B> and the Errgerwir-klung 4, also <B> 5 </B> the flow valve, z. B. a dry slide, <B> 6 </B> the DC load, power and <B> 7 </B> a rechargeable battery. Battery.
The mode of operation of the arrangement is as follows: As soon as the instantaneous value of the contact voltage of the power source <B> 1 </B> becomes greater than the counter voltage of the battery <B> 7, it starts from the power source < B> 1 </B> through the winding 4, the valve <B> 5 </B> the load <B> 6 </B> and the battery <B> 7 </B> to flow a current. If this current reaches the magnitude of the response current of the holding element <B> 8 </B>, then this closes the contact in a time which is, for example, less than <B> <I> 10-3 </I> </ B > <I> s, </I> especially smaller than <B> l "</B> s.
The current now also flows via coil 4, but then directly via contact <B> 3 </B> to load <B> 6. </B> The valve <B> 5 </B> is short-circuited and therefore currentless. This state lasts so long 'until the current has fallen to the waste current of the switching element, which is generally smaller than the Ansprealistrom. Now switch <B> 3 </B> opens again in a time that is less than <B> 10-3 </B> s.
However, since the valve <B> 5 </B> is directly parallel to the switching contact <B> 3 </B>, only a voltage can arise on the opening contact that is equal to the voltage drop in the valve, namely with the very small one oil opening current. This means that the interruption is completely spark-free if the condition is met that the voltage drop in the valve is less than the minimum voltage at which an arc can ignite, i.e. less than approximately <B> 10 </ B > V.
When the current is reversed, the valve <B> 5 </B> blocks and since the contact has already opened, a <B> full </B> permanent block occurs, which lasts until the voltage of the power source is restored is greater than the counter voltage.
From the explanations above, it is known (let the valve <B> 5 </B> be switched on only for a very short time in the event of larger deposits within a period, which depends on the response time and the response current of the switching element and by.
Suitable design of the Sel-la-lter can be "dimensioned" so that the flow valve <B> 5 </B> has to be dimensioned for an amperage that is one, two and even more orders of magnitude smaller than the nominal load amperage , e.g.
B. is at most <B> 5% </B> of the same. Due to the small resistance of the contact <B> 3, </B> which practically eliminates the poor efficiency of the valve, the efficiency of the arrangement is very high, since the remaining losses are reduced to a minimum can.
Fig. 2 shows the same arrangement for three-phase operation. It. di, - # same reference symbols are chosen as in Fig. <B> 1. </B> The mode of operation is basically exactly the same as with the circuit according to Fig. <B> 1. </B>
When using the arrangement for large currents, it is useful to connect ent neither a larger number of switches or a larger number of switching elements of a switch in parallel. This ensures that each field winding and each switching contact only carries a fraction of the total current. In the latter case, it can also be advantageous to provide a common excitation winding for at least two, in particular for all of the parallel-connected control elements.
It also proves to be expedient to switch on line inductances in series with each of the parallel-connected contacts, the purpose of which is to ensure an even current distribution at least shortly before the contact is opened and during the interruption even in the parallel-connected branches - guaranteed. These inductivities are advantageously coupled to one another.
If the inductances, which is advantageous, are designed as drumming, then this coupling can be established by providing a common core for all chokes, in particular the core of the excitation winding itself. The individual parallel circuits Contacts will generally not open absolutely simultaneously.
The dimensioning of the valve must now be made in such a way that the last, opening contact is still interrupted without an arc.
When using such stabilizing chokes, with a sufficiently large number of parallel working contacts, it can be achieved that the opening current strength for each interruption point is below the minimum current strength, with wire still an electric arc can arise "that is to say less than <B> 0.5 </B> to <B> 1 A </B>.
As a result of the parallel valve, overvoltages that would otherwise occur when a current is torn off without arcing can have an immediate effect on the valve so that no damage occurs.
The stabilization of the partial flows has the further advantage that the material migration is also reduced, because this decreases inversely with the square of the current strength to be withheld.
Fig. 3 shows such an embodiment of the arrangement according to the invention with parallel contacts and inductances 9 in series with the contacts, the SahaItelements being of the same type chen excitation winding are influenced. The individual switching elements can also be mechanically coupled to one another. The reference signs are otherwise again the same as in Figs. <B> 1 </B> and 2.
Under certain circumstances, it can be useful to artificially cool the winding by z. B. designed hollow and the interior of a coolant, for example air, water, glycol, is flushed.
Of course, with the arrangement, all possible rectifier circuits for one-way and full-wave rectification etc. a. To run.
When using the arrangement for high voltages, it is advisable to provide a series of switches or switching contacts and to switch a valve for each individual switching contact so that the voltage drop for each individual valve is below the minimum: Ivoltage for spark formation remains.
In this case, however, one can also make use of the fact G, ebra, ue, 11 that an arc is avoided if the current <B> per </B> interruption point is below the minimum current strength of approximately <B> 0.5 </B> to <B> 1 A </B>, whereby the voltage can then assume values of up to <B> 300 </B> V without arcing occurring.
