Demzufolge wird beim Abwärtsgang des Kolbens1 diesem durch Vermittlung der darin eingesetzten Drallmutter 36 eine Dreh bewegung aufgezwungen. Diese Drehung wird nur während dem ersten Teil der Abwärts bewegung stattfinden, indem nach Abschluss der Auslassöffilung 15 durch den Kolben1 und na-eh Abschluss;

Process for operating striking tools and equipment for carrying out the process. The invention relates to a method for operating impact tools, e.g. B. of hammer drills, and a Einrielltuno- to Durühführung the process.
In the enclosed drawing are, for example, execution forms of hammer drills with the device according to the invention, schematically illustrated where the method is explained, for example.

Fig. (3 zeilj't a cross section through the cylinder linder, corresponding to the line B-B in Fig. 1.
Fieg-. FIG. 7 shows a section through the p # piston, corresponding to the line C-C in FIG. 4.
Fig. 8 shows a section through the working cylinder and piston of a variant. The working piston 1 is installed in cylinder 2 so that it can move freely. The piston 1 transfers its movement in a known manner to the tool (chisel), not shown. At its upper end the cylinder 2 is closed off by the cover 3 of the cylinder head, which is designed as an operating head. At its lower end it has a Hole in which the piston, stance 4 is guided.
In the jacket surface of the cylinder 2, two bores 5 and 6 are provided, which are arranged on the same surface line and which connect the two through the piston 1 </ B> connect 2 separate working spaces 7 and 8 with the pressure space 9 . This space 9- is closed off by the cover 10 , which has a bore 11 for the connection to the pressure line. On the opposite side of the cylinder jacket another opening 12 is provided which connects the cylinder space with the outside space.
Depending on the position of the piston 1 there is a connection between the upper one. or below the work space and, the outside space. In certain piston positions there is no connection at all between the cylinder and the outer space. In the bores 5 and 6 there is each an inlet valve 13, or 14 movably arranged. They have guide ribs 15 and 16 , which ensure perfect guidance.
A groove 18 is provided in the heads 17 of these valves. The two valves 131 and 14 are inevitably connected by the lever 19 and the rollers 20. The lever 19 sits firmly on the pin 2.1, which is rotatably mounted in the support 22. The support 22 is arranged on the cover 10 . The lever 19 carries at its two ends the rollers 20, which intervene in the grooves 18 of the two valve heads.
The connection between the two valves 13 and 14 is therefore such that when one is opened, the other inevitably executes the opposite movement, d. h. closed, will.
Lever 19 and roller 2fl oic'h - rn the valves against rotation at the same time. The front end of the ribs 15 has a bevel 23, which forms a control edge, namely the bevels on both valves are directed in opposite directions.
The inclination of these two approaches corresponds to the inclination of the conical control surfaces 24 and 25 located on the two piston ends. At the upper end of the piston 1 there is a depression 26 provided, in which a number of tangentially arranged channels 27 located in the piston open.
The operation of the drive to the hammer drill is now as follows: The piston 1 is in the over dead position (Fig. 1). The upper edge 28 - </ B> of the cylindrical part of the piston 1 lies above the bore 5 of the upper inlet valve 13. The lower inlet valve 14 is closed and is closed by the excess pressure , which prevails in the Druekra, at 9 opposite the lower work room 8 , which is currently connected to the atmosphere, is kept in this position.
The linkage 19 connecting the two valves 13 and 14 thus holds the upper valve 13 in the fully open position. (Rib 15 of this valve is dimensioned so that its foremost point never reaches the piston skirt.) The upper D working area, around 7 , is thus in connection with the pressure chamber < B> 9, namely through the channels 27 and through the provided in the cylinder wall,
Grooves 2-9 opening into the valve bore 5 . First, compressed air will flow into the working space and push the freely movable piston 1 downwards in cylinder 2 . In the course of its movement, the piston 1 with the lower edge 30 of its cylindrical part will first reach the groove 311 provided in the cylinder jacket and opening into the outlet bore 12.
Finally, cover them up and thereby break the connection between the lower working space 8 and the atmosphere. As the piston 1 moves further, its lower end reaches the valve 14 (FIG. 2) and the conical part 25 of the piston acts on the control edge of the guide rib 15 so #that. the valve 14 is opened ent against the pressure acting on it. The linkage 1,9 transmits this movement to the upper valve 13 which executes a closing movement.
The valves reach their extreme position (closed position or full opening) before the edge 30 of the piston has reached the valve 14. As a result of the further downward movement of the piston, air is sucked in through the closing valve 13 . As the inlet becomes ever narrower, there is an ever greater drupka fall across the cross section, and the valve finally closes under the effect of the considerable
Sudden excess pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber compared to the inlet cross section. The upper working space, 7 , is now closed and no further compressed air is supplied. The air supply is thus completely interrupted after a partial piston path has been retracted. With the further movement of the piston 1. , the air enclosed in the working space 7 will expand at the piston with an output of work.
The lower working space 8 now looks in connection with the pressure space 9. Dersick as a result of the pressure that is set under the piston 1 , which is higher than that on the upper piston side, a gradually increasing retarding effect will now exert on the moving piston mass and this finally, after passing through the, channels 927, the, grooves 3,1 and the outlet opening 12 between the upper working space 7 and the atmosphere connection has been re-established, completely brake tD #n.
Fic. 3 zeiot the butt in this lace, n Zn e # the lower dead position. A collision of the piston 1 against the cylinder base can therefore not take place. Immediately after the piston 1 has broken down in the lower dead position, it is accelerated upwards with the anter effect of the still in the lower working space 8 compared to the upper working area room, 7 the prevailing overpressure.
The same processes that took place during the downward movement of the piston in the cylinder chamber are now repeated, but in the opposite sense, and the column 1 finally reaches its upper starting position Wig. 1). The working cycle is repeated in rapid succession, and the piston 1 gives the tool the required periodic movement,
un-% Fio ,. 3 zeio, t that in n C in n 1 moment, # V, 0 the control area 25 begins to act on the valve 14, the control fl, qehe '24 has already released the closing movement of the valve 13.
As mentioned above, the channels 27 establish communication with the atmosphere shortly before the lower totla-, e, the groove 31 2D and the outlet opening, 12. The air in the working space. 7 has only partially expanded so that there is still a considerable overpressure in it.
As a result of the now effective pressure gradient, the air present in the working area is accelerated, un-, and through the Zn tD piston 1 </ B > provided taugential channels 27 and thereby exert a corresponding reaction on the same and twist it in the direction of the arrow P by a certain amount.
Thanks to the arrangement of the channels. 217 at the bottom of the trough 26 , the sounds 31 are shielded by the upper part of the piston. The air can only flow out through the channels 927 . No additional energy is therefore neces sary to generate this rotary movement; rather, energy is used that would otherwise be wasted uselessly. There is thus no increase in air consumption. This type of drive is elastic and does not cause any difficulties, not even if the tool is stuck in solid rock.
There can be practically no undesirable effects on the housing and the operator.
For certain. Working, it is advantageous if: the rotation given to your tool after each work cycle can be set to an amount determined depending on the type of work. In the above-described drive for the “twisting” of the piston, the size of the angle of rotation can, for example, be changed by changing the cross section of the channels 927 or the depth of the groove 3) 1. be regulated within certain limits. Different pistons would therefore have to be provided for different angles of rotation.
But this would not be a satisfactory solution.
The variant illustrated in Fig. 4 and 7 for driving the rotary movement of the piston enables certain angles of rotation to be set by replacing fewer parts and is therefore suitable for the special cases mentioned above .
A threaded bore is provided in the cylinder cover 3 in which a threaded bolt 31.) is inserted, which itself has a conical bore 33 The head 34 of the Dra113tabes 35 with its conical lateral surface lies in this bore. on. In the recess 216 of the piston 1 there is a twist nut 36 which, with regard to profile and pitch, is connected to the twist bar 35 is used.
The twist bar 3.5 is guided in this nut. Below the nut 36 , a bore 37 is provided in the piston 1 , the diameter of which is kept larger than the outer diameter of the twist rod 35.
The bore 37 is so long that the twist rod does not reach the bottom of this bore even in the upper piston position (Fig. 4). The Hühlrauni 38 placed between the twist tab and the bore permanently provides a channel 39 provided in the piston rod 4 in connection with the lower working space 8. A longitudinal bore 40 is provided in the head 34 of the twist rod 35 ,
in which a transverse bore 41 opens. This is arranged in such a way that the cavity 42 provided above the threaded bolt 3,2 in the cover 3 always sees a connection with the upper working space 7. In FIG. 4, the piston 1 is in the upper dead position. At this moment, the upper working space 7 is in connection with the, space 9, while the lower working space 8 is in connection with the atmosphere.
Corresponding pressures are applied to the upper and lower end faces of the twist bar. The twist rod 3.5 is under the action of a downward axial resulting force.
The conical jacket surface of the head 34 is therefore pressed against the corresponding conical bolster 33 of the threaded bolt 312 . As a result of the weak coolness; of the two interacting surfaces, they exert a large normal pressure on one another. Large frictional forces arise which counteract a twisting of the twist rod 3.5 .
As a result, when the piston 1 is down, a rotational movement is forced upon it by means of the twist nut 36 inserted therein. This rotation will only take place during the first part of the downward movement, after the outlet opening 15 has been closed by the piston 1 and after that;
of the upper inlet valve 13 there is an increase in pressure on the lower side of the swirl bar, but a decrease in pressure on the upper side. After a short time, the resulting axial force will decrease so that the frictional force generated is no longer sufficient to fix the twist rod in relation to the housing in such a way that
that a twisting of the bulb against the occurring resistances would be possible. During the further movement, the piston 1 will no longer drp but the twist rod 35 . The same applies to the duration of the upward movement of the piston, where there is a temporary separation the head 34:
of the twist bar 3.5 and the win, debolzen, 32- success. In this variant, the inlet channels in the piston no longer necessarily need to be arranged tangentially, but rather they can be arranged radially (43 in FIG. 7). Depending on requirements, the energy released when the air flows out of the cylinder to support the rotation caused by the swirl device.
If too great resistance occurs when the tool is rotated, the friction between the twist rod and the threaded bolt will not be sufficient at all to fix the former; the two parts will slide on each other. Undesired repercussions on the.
The machine or the operator cannot occur. The amount of twist that is given to the tool for each work, play, can be changed by replacing the twist rod and twist nut with appropriate parts with any other pitch as desired. are set.
Instead of air, another elastic medium could be used as a drive means.
The variant according to FIG. 8 differs from that which is illustrated by FIG. 4, in principle 1 ± -digliüh because the temporary fixation of the twist rod relative to the housing, which each forcing the rotation of the piston, not by friction, but forcibly ben secured with the help of cooperating locking disks. This variant offers certain advantages for certain jobs.
In a fixed in the housing, flange 45, a locking disc 43 is arranged which is secured by the cam 46 against rotation. The locking disk 44 is non-rotatably connected to the end cone 48 of the twist bar 35 by means of wedges 47. During the working stroke of the piston, the locking disk 4-4 is in the position shown and is in engagement with the locking disk 43 by means of teeth 4.9.
The twist tab 35 is thus - ten turning, fixed, and the piston will perform one turning as it moves. 21 e3 At Pw-, inn of the return stroke of the piston, the twist tab 35 and the locking washer 44 are raised by the piston until the stop surface 50 < / B> the locking washer 44 comes to rest on the surface 51 of the housing.
The clearance between the surfaces A and 51 is dimensioned so that the moment they come into contact, the teeth 49 of the locking disks 43 and 44 disengage. iiid. During the rest of the backward stroke of the piston, after the fixation (l # Ps twist rod has been lifted, the latter experience a twist, the piston will translate.
Against a pure C operation, the piston takes the swirl rod 35 and the locking disk 44 with it until the two locking disks come together again come. From this point on, the movement of the twist is blocked, C C and the piston will forcibly experience a twist as it moves further.
