Process for the transmission of telegraphic characters in carrier telegraph systems with a variable level. A method for the transmission of telegraphic characters has already become known in which the mean character length was maintained with the help of a resistor-capacitor combination in the grid circuit of the electronic tube containing the receiving relay in the anode circuit (Fig. 1 ). In doing so, a displacement voltage is generated at the resistors in the grid circuit due to the pointer current that occurs when the levels exceed the minimum level,
whose amount is equal to or approximately equal to half of the overdrive voltage, d. h. is the peo-egg increase in relation to the minimum level of the telegraphic symbol occurring in the grid circle.
The known method has the disadvantage that if the resistances are suitably dimensioned, the beginning of a drawing step is reproduced undistorted, but the end of the symbol is distorted in the sense of a drawing extension due to insufficient sewing time of the control element. If the resistances of the resistor-capacitor combination are made the same, the distortion of the start-up step is zero.
For continuous text, however, one finds that one of the resistances has to be made about twice as large as the other in order to obtain distortion-free characters. With such a dimensioning, however, the start-up step is again distorted. The reason for the different behavior in the two operating states is the resistance, which is connected in series with the capacitor.
The present invention is a method for the transmission of telegraphic characters in carrier current telegraph systems with variable level, using an electron tube whose anode current controls the receiving relay and in the grid circle by a resistor capacitor combination a displacement voltage he testifies, the amount at least approximately equal to half is the overdrive voltage.
According to the invention, the resistance capacitor combination, at whose resistance the displacement voltage for the grid circuit of the said working tube is tapped, lies in a special control circuit fed from the input with a voltage equal to the working voltage. high resistance in the grid circle of the working stirrer a reaction of their grid current on the control circuit is avoided.
Some embodiments of scarf lines for performing the method according to the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Fi gures 2 to 4.
In FIG. 2, GI and G2 denote generators which are independent of one another and which supply the two working voltages that are independent of one another. These working voltages can be obtained in a simple manner from the incoming character voltage by applying a second winding to the intermediate transformer (not shown for the sake of simplicity). The resulting alternating voltages can, as is customary, be rectified with dry directors, so that the tubes EI and E2 are controlled with direct current.
The working voltage supplied by Gl acts on the grid circle of the working tube EI, in which the resistor BI is connected. The voltage supplied by the generator G2 acts via the resistor capacitor combination B2, C2 on the control circuit with the tube E2. The Tubes EI and E2 are prestressed by a negative grid prestress at the lower bend of their characteristic curve.
When a character voltage which exceeds the minimum level occurs in the pre-tube circuit (not shown), the overdrive voltage is generated at control element B2, C2. To generate the displacement voltage that is to be effective in the grid circle of the tube EI , half of the overload voltage is taken from resistor B2 by means of a tap -4.
If it is ensured that the resistance B1 is large compared to the resistance B2, the grid current in the tube EI will not generate any additional voltage across the resistance B2. This means that the tensions in the lattice circle of the tube. Ei do not affect the lattice circle of the eye E2 .
It can be seen that the voltage tapped at resistor B2, the amount of which is equal to half the overdrive voltage, can take effect without delay in the C-triter circuit of the tube EI . This means that the displacement voltage is always of the same magnitude in closed-circuit operation both in the start-up step and in the text.
Instead of using a triode for the tube E2, as shown in FIG. 2, a diode can also be used at this circuit point, as is shown in FIG. 3 - will.
If tubes are available which, in addition to a triode, also contain a diode section, the circuit according to FIG. 4 can noell be further simplified in terms of the tube expenditure. The circuit according to FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIG. 3 only in that the triode '1 and the diode E'2 are combined to form a composite tube E .
