Description

A method of manufacturing a perfumed and perfuming ink. We already know the luxury perfumed papers for correspondence, but up to this day we have not yet perfumed ink with a view to giving to pieces of paper; on which it is applied, a perfume.

The object of the present -invention is a process for the manufacture of an odoriferous and perfuming ink according to which the operation is carried out so as to distribute throughout the mass of the ink an odoriferous product which is not very volatile so as not to s' evaporate immediately and completely during the drying of the ink on the paper.

The process which is the subject of the invention applies equally well to the manufacture of ordinary inks, inks for pens, oily inks, powdered inks, tablets, sticks, and to that of 'India inks.

The inks themselves are therefore perfumed and the sheets printed or covered with writing with such inks give off a perfume even after they have dried.

For the manufacture of inks, ordinary for pens or Indian inks, whatever their color, it is necessary to take certain precautions when using an odoriferous product insoluble in water, such as an essential oil. , so that the latter is evenly distributed throughout the liquid mass, without leaving greasy films on the surface of the ink.

These essential oils, natural or synthetic, for example lavender or rose oil, etc., can then be used in the form of solutions in .l'alcohol. It is also possible to use essences containing tannins, such as oakmoss, essences soluble in water, such as cheris L-series flower essence, non-alcoholic,

or also any solid substance containing an odoriferous product soluble in water or al-coul, such as aromatic products based on herbs, roots or seeds. It is also possible to use synthetic products such as coumarin.

For the manufacture of oily, fluid and stick inks, in which they are soluble, essential oils or synthetics can be used as they are.

For the manufacture of powdered inks or tablets, the same odoriferous products can be used as for the manufacture of liquid inks.
