Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 242416. Knopf.
Additional patent to main patent no. 242416. Button. In the case of the button according to the claim of the main patent, a fabric-covered upper part and a lower part are held together by means of an overlapping edge provided on one button part, and both button parts are perforated in the middle part, where a web is formed on one button part to allow the upper part of the button to be pierced through existing fabric cover to allow the button to be sewn tightly to a base. Such a button represents a so-called fabric button.
With such a button, according to the present invention, the lower part is pressed into the fabric-covered upper part, whereby it grips behind the inwardly beaded overlapping edge of the upper part by means of a circumferential serrated edge, whereby the button parts are held together firmly.
The aim is to be able to join the two button parts set up for sewing the button to a base by piercing the fabric cover present on the button top by hand simply by applying pressure.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is illustrated.
Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of the fabric button sewn to a base. Fig. 2 is a top view of the button lower part, and Fig. 3 shows one of Fig. 1 corre sponding cross section with a modified detail of the fabric button.
It denotes 1 and 2 the punched and pressed metal upper part and lower part of the button, while with 3 of the upper part -1_ provided - fabric cover is given. The upper part 1 has a conically inwardly directed edge 4, which ends in a downward flanging 4 '. A raised peripheral edge 7 is formed in the upper part 1 by a conical inward compression.
The circular upper part has a central hole 8 which is delimited by a beaded edge 9. According to FIG. 2, the mentioned hole 8 is opposite two holes 6 provided on the lower part 2, which are approximately semicircular and leave a web 6 'between them. The lower part 2, which is formed by a disc and has a serrated edge 2 'on the circumference, has four evenly distributed over the circumference, ra-diene incisions 12, the number of which could of course also be smaller or larger.
These incisions 12 go from the mentioned edge to a little over an annular rib 13 pressed into the lower part 2, so that the circumference of the lower part 2 is divided into a total of four tabs 14, in the area of which the elasticity of the Lower part 2 is increased accordingly, while on the other hand, the strength of the tabs 14 is increased by the annular rib 13.
The inner diameter of the flanging 4 'of the upper part 4 and the diameter of the lower part 2 are dimensioned such that the lower part 2 can be easily inserted into the upper part 1 by hand under pressure for the purpose of assembling the button parts by using the flanging mentioned 4 'are initially retained on the striking tab 14 with the serrated edge 2' with a corresponding bending at the stop point.
This continues until the serrated edge 2 ', with the springing back of the tabs 14, passes through the mentioned inner edge diameter of the upper part 1 and as a result the serrated edge 2' grips behind the end of the said flange 4 'occupied by the fabric cover 3, whereby the button parts are fixed Get together. The fabric cover 3 provided on the upper part 1 is fixed between the flange 4 ′ of the overlapping edge 4 present on the upper part 1 and the serrated edge 2 ′ of the lower part 2.
The fabric button described is shown in FIG. 1 by means of a thread 10 on the z. B. formed by a clothing fabric Un pad 11 sewn. As can be seen, the sewing thread 10 drawn by hand through the fabric cover 3 of the button by means of the sewing needle passes through the central hole 8 of the upper part 1 and is guided through the sewing holes 6 of the lower part 2 back to the front of the button The fabric cover 3, which was originally tightened over the upper part 1, is sewn when the
Button pulled by itself into the mentioned inward compression of the upper part 1, the fabric cover according to FIG. 1 coming to rest on this inward compression, so that the button on the visible side is readily given a corresponding decorative shape. The web 6 'present on the lower part 2 between the sewing holes 6 according to FIG. 2 prevents the thread 10 and the fabric cover 3 from tearing in the area of the sewing point,
while the beaded edge 9 seen on the upper part 1 prevents damaging the fabric at this point. On the lower part 2 could, of course, in place of two approximately semicircular z. B. four round sewing holes can be provided, which together limit a cross-like connec tion web.
In the embodiment variant according to FIG. 3, an annular rib 15 is pressed into the lower part 2 and is intended to interact with the flanged edge 9 present on the upper part 1. As a result, when assembling the button the centering Ren of the button parts serving guide and subsequently a stop means is created which prevents mutual transverse movement of the button parts. The on the lower part 2 several tabs 14 forming radial A cuts 12 do not extend to the annular rib 15, which is thus not interrupted, so not weakened.
That the described button, assembled by hand, only has two hard or has metal assembly parts, makes it particularly easy to manufacture and assemble.
