Da a stebs klein ist, gilt ferner Ea = a.
Method and device for measuring a magnitude which is dependent on the rotation of two body cross-sections.
It is known that the transmission of a torque by means of a rotating body results in a torsion of this body, e.g. B. a wave. The angle by which two successive cross-sections perpendicular to the axis of extension of the body are rotated in relation to one another is, at least in the case of small angles of rotation, proportional to the torque transmitted through the body. The measurement of this angle, expediently when the body is rotating, therefore gives a measure of the torque T to be measured.
Since, however, in practice the torsion angle fiv is usually very small, especially if a specially designed Tor sion bar is not used as the torsion body, an accurate measurement of the torsion angle and thus the determination of the torque transmitted by the body is difficult . This is especially the case when the cross-sections are only a short distance apart and belong to one and the same body, e.g. B. in the known torsion dynamometers with strobo scopic reading of the torsion angle.
In practice, a measurement of torsion angles can only be done by switching the device between two shafts to be coupled, but not z. B. by placing the device on the ends of a Mascrhinenwelle.
A method is known in which to measure a size dependent on the rotation of two body cross sections, e.g. B. the angle of rotation, a torque or a power, two power generators can be used, the voltages of which process a phase shift when twisting the cross-sections on which the alternating current generators are attached. The difference in voltage between the two alternating current generators that occurs during rotation is measured, specifically the difference between the fundamental waves of these voltages.
In order to facilitate understanding of the invention, this known method will first be explained by way of example with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawings
The device shown in FIG. 1 has two alternating current generators, the pole wheels 1 and 2 of which are attached to the shaft 3. The distance between the pole wheels corresponds to the measuring length, which can also be selected to be relatively short. The pole wheels are made of permanent magnets and have P == 4 pronounced poles.
The stators 4 and 5 of the alternating current generator are arranged in a stationary manner when the shaft 3 with the pole wheels rotates and the torsion angle that occurs when the shaft is loaded is to be measured during its rotation.
If the torsion of the shaft takes place without it rotating, the stators can be set in rotation after removing parts 6 and 7, the winding ends of the stators being guided to slip rings.
This arrangement allows simple calibration of the device for torque T, torsion angle ha and the mechanical power N transmitted when the shaft is rotating.
In the initial state, the voltages of the two alternating current generators, which have the same frequency as shown in FIG. 1, are brought to the same value and a specific phase position. For example, in the starting position, the phase position is set to zero, that is, matched to the same phase. The torsion of the shaft 3 on the measuring length I results in z. B. a rotation angle v corresponding to the angle between the radii I and II, the radius I indicating the starting position and the radius II a certain position of one rotor in relation to the other after the rotation of the measuring length i! which is intended to identify shaft 3.
The measuring length l corresponds to the distance of the center plane perpendicular to the shaft 3 through the alternating current generator. The points of intersection of this plane with the axis of shaft 3 are denoted by M and N.
To set the phase equality or a specific phase shift, a device 6 is used, which by means of a worm 7, which can be brought into engagement in a worm gear toothing 8 on the circumference of the stator 5 and a rotation of this stator in relation to the other, in the common , not shown holding device for the two stators permitted.
The voltages taken from the stator windings are now fed to a voltmeter which measures the difference E @ between the induced basic voltage Elo and E20, which are shown as vectors in FIG. 2. ? = P / 2 @, where P means the number of poles. The rotation angle sought is thus ip = p. In addition to the differential voltage E, one of the spa. If E10 or E20 is measured, one can graphically determine a and thus nu.
Since a is always small, we also have Ea = a. One. and since a is proportional to the torque, Elo is proportional to the number of revolutions, E, is proportional to the power transmitted.
In the practical application of this method of measuring the twist angle, it is not necessary to provide a special torsion bar for the same. Rather, one can use the rotation of the machine shaft itself as a measure of the recorded (or generated) torque. The calibration can easily be carried out with the shaft at a standstill, through the action of known torques and the rotating winding housing of the measuring dynamos.
The invention relates to the above-mentioned method and aims to increase the accuracy. It should be noted that the angle of twist and therefore also the angle a are practically always very small. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the quantity dependent on the rotation is measured using a higher harmonic of the fundamental waves of the voltages generated in the alternating current generator.
If the ordinal number of the harmonic is n, then? 0 = n.P / 2 @ instead of? = P / 2 @. The angle a is thus multiplied by the factor n. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method according to the invention. It is characterized by the fact that the phase oscillations of the two alternating current generators are designed and connected to one another in such a way that only a higher harmonic of the fundamental wave of the induced voltage gets into the measuring circuit. 3 and 4 show, for example, the circuit of two embodiments of the device according to the invention.
In both cases, the housings of the alternator are wound in three phases, the windings being designed in such a way that apart from the fundamental wave of the voltage, only the third harmonic occurs. This third rarmonic should be as strong as possible.
According to FIG. 3, the housing windings of the two generators are connected to one another in a star connection and the two zero points are connected via a measuring instrument Mon, specifically via an ampereme. In this then only a current i @ three times the frequency and three times the magnitude flows, as can be generated by a single phase winding alone, while a current of the fundamental frequency n does not flow through the instrument. The phase difference of the two third harmonics is also three times as large as the phase shift produced by y lmd 2? = P / 2 @ of the fundamental oscillation, so that? is increased to? 0 = 3P / 2 @.
Since the measuring instrument is an ammeter (small resistance between the star points), the display is only proportional to the angle of rotation and thus to the torque, because the number of revolutions falls out of the measurement in a large measuring range due to the high self-induction of the windings.
Fig. 4 shows the same principle applied to the delta connection of the two three-phase generators. The sum of the three fundamental oscillations of the three phases is always Nulii in each generator, while the third harmonics are brought into effect on each other at the phase angle? 0 = 3 / 2P @. In this case the measuring instrument Mo is a voltmeter so that the power transmitted between the cross-sections is measured.
The alternating current generators of the devices described with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4 can be arranged between a driving and a driven machine in such a way that they sit on a common coupling shaft, which expediently has a smaller diameter to increase the angle of rotation between the measuring cross-sections than at the storage locations. Such a design then represents a mecoupling.
These alternators can also be used to measure the angle of rotation between the positions of two mechanically independent machines. These machines, which may be spatially far apart, can be measured by measuring the equalizing voltage or of the equalizing current in their spatial phase position, which is dependent on the load, is monitored relative to one another or remotely controlled respectively. be regulated. The pole numbers P ,. and P2 and the ordinal numbers Mi and n2 of the higher harmonics used must then be adapted to the speeds of the machines to be controlled in order to achieve the same frequency.
