Le dispositif en question comprend un commutateur rotatif commandé par la tourelle de la machine outil par l'intermédiaire de cames et portant des balais venant au contact de plots dont chacun correspond à un outil de la machine;
L'opérateur agit alors sur le bouton 18 (bouton de fonctionneraient automatique) dont l'enclenchement réalise les opérations sui vantes 10 déverrouillage d'un des boutons ma nuels 6, 7, 8... 17 si l'une des vitesses était en prise; ce déverrouillage produit la cou pure du contacteur 6", 7", 8"... 17"; 20 alimentation, en courant électrique, du commutateur rotatif 1;
30 allumage de la lampe-témoin 18': le fait que le dispositif est prêt au fonctionne ment automatique se trouve ainsi mis en évi dence, Un bouton 19 permet d'obtenir l'arrêt de la machine, l'enclenchement dudit bouton réalisant les. opérations suivantes: 1o déclenchement de celui des boutons 6, 7, 8... 17 qui est en service (que le dispositif fonctionne à la main ou automatiquement) ;
Automatic electric speed change control device on machine tools. The present invention relates to a device making it possible to ensure the automatic electric control of speed change on automatic and semi-automatic machine tools for the various machining operations performed.
The device in question comprises a rotary switch controlled by the turret of the machine tool via cams and carrying brushes coming into contact with pads each of which corresponds to a tool of the machine;
each pad is connected to one of the sockets of a set each of which corresponds to a tool speed, each of these sockets being furthermore permanently connected to a relay controlling a contactor inserted in a circuit whose closing acts on an electromagnetic gearbox to engage the corresponding speed to be given to the tool.
Each of the assemblies, pad, socket, contactor, is placed on a so-called "running" electrical circuit supplied by the secondary of a transformer and further comprising a warning lamp; the closing of a running circuit is produced by placing a specific tool in the working position; it automatically engages a speed of the machine tool equal to that required by said tool.
The assembly can be stopped by a stop button closing a new circuit then traversed by a current which opens an interrupter of the first circuit, lights a warning lamp and activates a brake stopping the machine tool.
By way of nonlimiting example, the application of the present invention to a revolver equipped with an electro-mechanically controlled twelve-speed gearbox will now be decreed.
In this embodiment, the device comprises, on the headstock of the lathe, a table with twelve latching pushbuttons (each of which corresponds to one of the speeds of the box), a table which makes it possible to achieve manual control of each speed. A button which cuts off the power supply to all the contactors and activates a brake relay controls the stopping of the drive by manual control. On the other hand, a special button makes it possible to trigger the gears which have been engaged manually, to prepare the device for automatic control.
The aforementioned table comprises indicator lamps, in a number equal to that of the gearbox speeds; the aforementioned maneuvers and the triggering of each gear (whether it is done by hand or whether it is produced automatically) lights one of said indicator lamps.
The way in which the automatic operation of the device takes place will now be explained. A preliminary maneuver, consisting in actuating the aforementioned special button, has the effect, as has been said, of putting the device in a state for automatic operation. From this moment, the various speed changes are controlled by the movements of the tool-holder turret (in the case, taken here as an example, of the application of the invention to a revolver-lathe) or, generally, by the movements of the tool support of the machine provided with the device.
The movements of the tool-holder turret are transmitted by all appropriate means and. for example, through the barrel. to a rotary switch comprising a star wheel which is driven by fingers of the usual stop holder of the. turret. Each of these fingers corresponds to a working position of the turret; it follows that, for each tool, a different determined speed can be selected, said speed corresponding to the nature of the work to be performed by the tool put into action.
The connection between the switch contacts and the gearbox control contactors is ensured by a card board making it possible to choose in advance the speeds to be used for each of the operations on a given part.
The manual control panel mentioned above, on the one hand, and the automatic control contacts made through the plug-in panel, on the other hand, are connected to a frame carrying the contactors. feeding the coils of the box.
In the accompanying drawing is shown the diagram. of the device described. This diagram will be described in conjunction with the operation of the assembly.
In this figure, 1 denotes a rotary switch whose rotation is controlled by movements of the turret. This switch comprises a brush 2 which can occupy as many positions as the turret itself carries tools. The brush 2 can thus come into contact successively with one of the pads 3 corresponding to the various tools, pads six in number in the example shown, and which can be connected by pins 4, at the choice of the operator, to one of the sockets 5 in number equal to that of the speeds of the electromechanical gearbox B and each corresponding to one of said speeds.
The device comprises buttons 6, 7, 8 ... 17 each corresponding to one of the twelve speeds of the electromechanical gearbox. These buttons 6, 7, 8 ... 17 are used to manually set the speed that the operator chooses for a given job. In other words, the set of buttons 6, 7 ... 17, together with. the circuits shown in the drawing constitute the manual control device.
Indicator lamps 6 ', 7', 8 '... 17' are provided in the circuits and each correspond to. one of the gearbox speeds; these lamps light up when the corresponding speed is in play.
When the operator presses one of the buttons 6, 7, 8 ... 17, he obtains the following results 10 triggering of the button corresponding to the speed already in service by cutting off his relay power supply; this triggering is obtained mechanically by any suitable device. At the same time, the.
corresponding indicator light goes out; 2nd engagement of that of contactors 6 ", 7", 8 "... 17" which corresponds to the selected speed; this engagement is obtained by energizing a relay which attracts its armature and thus closes the contacts corresponding to the circuit of the selected speed of box B; 30 indicator light 6 ', 7', 8 '... 17' corresponding to contactor 6 ", 7", 8 "... 17" supplied.
The automatic operation of the device will now be indicated by means of the rotary switch 1.
As indicated above, each movement of the turret, movement intended to put into action a determined tool, has the effect of bringing the brush 2 of said switch to the pad corresponding to said tool. Beforehand, the operator ensured the connection between the pads 3 of the switch and those of the contactors 6 ", 7" ... 17 "chosen by means of movable pipes with plugs engaged in those of the sockets 5 corresponding to the speeds.
The operator then acts on button 18 (automatic function button), the engagement of which performs the following operations 10 unlocking one of the manual buttons 6, 7, 8 ... 17 if one of the gears was engaged; this unlocking produces the pure neck of the 6 ", 7", 8 "... 17" switch; 20 supplying electric current to the rotary switch 1;
30 indicator light 18 'comes on: the fact that the device is ready for automatic operation is thus brought to light, A button 19 is used to stop the machine, the engagement of said button carrying out the. following operations: 1st triggering of the one of buttons 6, 7, 8 ... 17 which is in service (whether the device operates manually or automatically);
20 energizing the braking relay 20 which, by attracting its armature, cuts off the power supply to the electromechanical box B and directly supplies the braking electromagnets of this box; 30 indicator light 19 'comes on.
A safety device makes it impossible to engage several speeds simultaneously in the event that the operator, following an incorrect operation, simultaneously acts on several of the buttons 6, 7, 8 ... 17. To this end Indeed, a safety relay 21 has been provided which acts as follows: 10 When the relay 21 is energized, the closing of contact 22 determines the energization of the electromagnet 23 which, by acting on control 26, unlocks all the manual buttons or the automatic button activated by mistake.
20 The brake relay 20 is energized, which causes the machine to stop. To restart the machine, it is. it is essential to act first on the stop button 19, then on the corresponding button at the desired speed.
The automatic operation of the safety relay 21 is obtained as follows: As can be seen in the diagram, the supply to this relay is provided through resistors RI., R2 ... R13 connected in series; it follows that the voltage at the terminals of relay 21 is insufficient for said relay to be able to attract its armature. But the engagement of one of the buttons 6, 7 ... 17 short-circuits one of the resistors B1, R2 ... R12; when this is the case, the voltage is still insufficient for the relay to attract its armor.
But if two or more resistors are shorted (as a result of the simultaneous engagement of several speeds), relay 21 becomes capable of attracting its mature ar and it operates in the manner which has been discussed above.
The installation comprises, finally, a transformer 24, the primary of which receives the current from the sector and the secondary comprises two windings, one intended for supplying the coils of the contactors, the other for the re-trainer 25 ensuring the supply. by direct current from the electromagnets. box B.
Thus, thanks to the movable plug-in pipelines and a card-table, it is possible to make a prior choice of the speed combinations suitable for the execution of a given job, by bringing together studs and sockets according to the required correspondence, each stud representing a tool and each socket its speed. The device described then automatically activates the various combinations of speeds thus chosen as the corresponding tools come into play.
More generally, the device described gives the possibility of using at any time any speed of an electro-mechanical control gearbox on which one acts manually by means of said device.
