Fer à repasser. L'objet de la présente invention est un fer à repasser notamment destiné à ouvrir les coutures. Ce fer est caractérisé par un ré servoir à eau isolé thermiquement du corps chaud, par une buse d'arrosage placée vers la pointe du fer, et par un dispositif de com mande permettant d'alimenter la buse au mo ment voulu, ce dispositif étant placé à portée d'au moins un doigt de la main tenant la poignée du fer.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution du fer fai sant l'objet de l'invention.

Le fer à repasser représenté comprend une semelle 1 surmontée d'un corps de chauffe avec sa protection 2 et sa prise de courant 3. Une poignée 4 est fixée sur le fer par une équerre 5 et deux écrous 6. Ces écrous serrent en même temps une plaquette 7 dont les bords constituent une coulisse sur laquelle s'engagent des pièces de guidage 8 solidaires d'un réservoir à eau ' amovible 9. Ce dernier est de forme à s'adapter élégamment sur le fer et présente un coussinet 10 de matière calorifuge figé à la surface inférieure de ce réservoir. A l'arrière de ce dernier est monté un entonnoir de remplissage 11, en un point où il ne gêne pas la manipulation du fer.
A l'avant du réservoir 9 se trouve une petite buse d'arrosage 12 destinée à humecter les coutures à ouvrir. Cette buse est raccordée à un cylindre 13 monté dans le réservoir et renfermant un piston 14 avec ressort de rap pel extérieur 15 et bouton de commande 16. Ce dernier est à portée du pouce de l'opéra teur et peut être arrêté dans sa position in férieure, lorsqu'il n'est pas en service, grâce à un bossage taraudé 19 que présente le fond du cylindre et dans lequel on peut visser un prolongement fileté de la tige du piston.
Des soupapes 18 et 19, d'aspiration et de refoulement, sont aménagées à la base du cy- lindre 13. Le réservoir est en outre figé à l'équerre 5 par une ailette et une vis 21. A. l'avant, le réservoir présente une équerre 22 venant s'appliquer sur la pointe du fer.
Le fonctionnement de ce fer est le sui vant: Pour ouvrir une couture 20, par exemple, il suffit d'y introduire la pointe du fer, que l'on glisse en avant, tout en appuyant du pouce sur le bouton de commande 15 de ma nière à actionner le jet 12 et asperger ainsi ladite couture.
De cette manière, la main gauche reste libre pour préparer l'étoffe au devant du fer en entrouvrant la couture, tandis qu'avec la méthode usuelle, cette main est encombrée d'un tampon humide.
Ce fer sera donc d'usage général chez les tailleurs et les couturières, et dans les mé nages où la maîtresse de maison se charge des travaux de couture.
Dans une variante, le réservoir à eau pourra être fixé de manière permanente sur le fer. Dans ce cas, le bouton de commande pourra être monté dans la poignée du fer. Le jet pourra se trouver dans la pointe du fer. Le réservoir pourra être incorporé dans une protection unique du fer et de son corps de chauffe.

The iron shown comprises a sole 1 surmounted by a heating body with its protection 2 and its socket 3. A handle 4 is fixed to the iron by a bracket 5 and two nuts 6. These nuts tighten at the same time a plate 7 whose edges constitute a slide on which engage guide pieces 8 integral with a removable water tank 9. The latter is shaped to fit elegantly on the iron and has a pad 10 of material heat insulator fixed to the lower surface of this tank. At the rear of the latter is mounted a filling funnel 11, at a point where it does not interfere with the handling of the iron.
At the front of the tank 9 is a small watering nozzle 12 intended to moisten the seams to be opened. This nozzle is connected to a cylinder 13 mounted in the reservoir and containing a piston 14 with external return spring 15 and control button 16. The latter is within reach of the operator's thumb and can be stopped in its in position. férale, when not in service, thanks to a threaded boss 19 which has the bottom of the cylinder and into which a threaded extension of the piston rod can be screwed.
Suction and discharge valves 18 and 19 are fitted at the base of the cylinder 13. The tank is also fixed to the square 5 by a fin and a screw 21. At the front, the tank has a square 22 which is applied to the tip of the iron.
The operation of this iron is as follows: To open a seam 20, for example, it suffices to introduce the tip of the iron, which is slid forward, while pressing the thumb on the control button 15 of way to actuate the jet 12 and thus spray said seam.
In this way, the left hand remains free to prepare the fabric at the front of the iron by partially opening the seam, while with the usual method, this hand is encumbered with a damp pad.
This iron will therefore be in general use among tailors and seamstresses, and in households where the hostess takes care of the sewing work.
In a variant, the water tank could be permanently attached to the iron. In this case, the control button can be mounted in the handle of the iron. The jet may be in the tip of the iron. The tank can be incorporated in a single protection of the iron and its heating body.
