Fig. 1 zeigt im Aufriss das erste Ausfüh- rungsbeispiel, zur Priifung von Draht auf Zug-oder Druckwechselfestigkeit bestimmt ;
Fig. 2 ist eine Oberansicht zu Fig. 1 ;
Fig. 3 zeigt ein zugehöriges Diagramm ;
Fig, 5 ist eine Längsansicht und d
Fig. 6 ein Querschnitt zu Fig. 4, während
Fig. 7 ein zugehöriges Diagramm zeigt.
Device for clamping test sticks in pulsing machines.
When testing materials for alternating strength, it is customary to make the specimen thicker at the clamping points so that the dangerous cross section is definitely outside the clamping point. In many cases, however, it is desirable to test test bars with an unchanged cross-section for fatigue strength; the clamped ends then have the same cross-section as the exposed part of the test rod.
However, with the known clamping devices, the fatigue fracture always occurs at the transition to a clamping point of the test rod. The reason for this can be seen primarily in the sliding of the test rod on the slope to its exposed part, because the friction causes surface damage and friction oxide (base rust), which favor the start of the fracture at the point mentioned, which in turn causes the gained Fatigue strength values are falsified.
In the device according to the invention for clamping test rods in pulsing machines, the clamping bodies consist of laminated jaws in order to follow the elastic expansions of the test rod without sliding.
By clamping the test rods without sliding, it is achieved that fractures of the same at the transition to a clamping point are largely excluded.
In the enclosed. Two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing:
1 shows, in elevation, the first exemplary embodiment, intended for testing wire for tensile or alternating pressure resistance;
Figure 2 is a top view of Figure 1;
Fig. 3 shows an associated diagram;
Fig. 4 shows in axial section the second embodiment, intended for testing smooth wires in an alternating torsion machine,
Fig. 5 is a longitudinal view and d
FIG. 6 shows a cross section to FIG. 4, while
7 shows an associated diagram.
In the first example, the wire 1 is clamped at each end by two laminated clamping jaws 2 and 3 which are precisely matched to the wire profile; the lamellas are formed by incisions 4 of the same depth made transversely in the jaws 2 and 3; however, the lamellas have a thickness which progressively decreases towards the free face of the jaw. The surface pressure along the clamping point can be influenced by the position of the point of application of the clamping force N. In the diagram according to FIG. 3, a pressure P which increases continuously with the clamping jaw length L is assumed. This also defines the course of the tensile force Z along the clamping jaw.
The condition must be fulfilled that at any distance I for a length element SI at a circumference U the frictional force generated by the surface pressure wax ap is equal to or greater than the decrease Az of the tensile force occurring along this length element. With, cc as the coefficient of static friction, the relationship must therefore exist:
U? L? P Á ?? z.
Another condition is that the lamella, dimensioned according to the length element? Oil, if it follows the elongation of the rod without sliding, generates a resistance that is just as great as the required decrease in tensile force.
There. with the shape of the slats is clearly determined. It is up to you to vary the course of the Z-line at will if you do without the full use of the frictional forces, since only the given formula has to be followed.
As a result of the described lamination of the two clamping jaws 2 and 3 which form the clamping body, the same can follow the elastic expansions of the test rod without sliding.
In addition to along the jaw, the lamellae can also be progressively stepped across it. The dimensions of the lamellae can be influenced favorably by using a material with a smaller modulus of elasticity than that of the test rod.
A soft metal foil can be provided to compensate for minor unevenness between the test rod and the clamping body.
Next, by applying an additional adhesive, z. B. emery paper or emery powder, a substantial increase in the coefficient of friction can be achieved between the test rod and the Einspannkorper or the metal foil.
According to FIGS. 4, 5 and 6, the wire 5 stressed by the torque M is held in jaws with a chuck 6 by friction; the chuck 6 has radial incisions 7 which are made equally spaced from one another from the free end face and which have alternating lengths in the axial direction of the chuck, so that lamellae of different widths are formed. The lining 6 is from the outside by unla. Mellierte jaw parts 8 (Fig. 6) with the force N (Fig. 4) pressed. The position of the force N in the longitudinal direction is again decisive for the distribution of the surface pressure along the restraint. The curve of the moment M and the pressure P can be seen from the diagram according to FIG.
When the shaft is turned, the individual lamellae of the chuck follow the displacement of the wire surface due to their flexibility on the inside, while they remain at rest on the outside.
