Antenna structure for short waves. Antenna structures are known for transmitting or receiving shortwaves, which consist of several horizontally, horizontally positioned radiators, the length of the radiators corresponding to half the wavelength to be transmitted (dipoles) and the radiators in a special way to maintain a desired, specific radiation pattern are oriented towards each other.
For example, an antenna structure which is particularly suitable for broadcasting purposes is known, which consists of several horizontal dipoles set up along a common support mast, neighboring dipoles crossing each other perpendicularly and being fed with 90 phase-shifted currents. In order for such an antenna structure to radiate energy uniformly in all horizontal directions, the size and phase of the in the various dipoles must be determined. occurring currents carefully. can be set.
With this in mind, it is generally necessary to use several transmission lines, together with networks for phase correction, to feed the radiating parts of the antenna structure. Furthermore, in order to maintain a good match, it is generally necessary to use impedance-transforming networks between the connection terminals of the radiating parts and the transmission line or lines.
The invention relates to an antenna structure of the type mentioned above, in which the number of special parts required for a good effect is limited to a minimum.
The antenna structure according to the invention has several radiating parts set up along a transmission line, the connection terminals of which are directly connected to points on the transmission line and in which the radiation resistances of the radiating parts are chosen so different from one another that the radiating parts when the Antenna formation at least almost equally participate in the energy transfer.
The required size of the radiation resistance of a radiating part can be obtained in a simple manner that this part is composed of several next to and parallel to each other, in-phase excited emitters, whose mutual distance is small in relation to the wavelength to be transmitted and whose Length corresponds to half of the wavelength to be transmitted, the radiators being connected to one another at the ends and only one of the radiators being interrupted in the middle and the resulting ends forming the connection terminals of the radiating part.
1, in which an exemplary embodiment of an antenna structure according to the invention is shown, and FIG. 2 which shows the substitute scheme for the structure according to FIG. 1, the invention is explained in more detail below.
That in Fig. 1 antenna structure shown contains four radiating parts 10. 1.1, 12 and 13, each having a half 'wavelength ent speaking length. These radiating parts are placed horizontally one above the other and symmetrically with respect to a common vertical axis 14 ver. The distance between each two adjacent radiating parts corresponds to approximately a quarter of the wavelength to be transmitted.
At the same time, adjacent radiating parts cross each other perpendicularly, so that the parts 10, 12 and the parts 11, 13 are located differently in two vertical planes intersecting perpendicularly in the axis 14.
The radiating parts 10 to 13 are of a type labeled with your name "folded dipole". The radiating part 1.0 be consists of two fallow, vellendipoles 15, 1.6, the mutual distance of which is small with respect to the wavelength used, while corresponding ends are directly connected to each other. The dipole 15 is interrupted in the middle and with. the ends of a transmission line 17 connected. The radiating> part 11 is assembled in the same way as the part 10.
The radiating parts 12, 13, on the other hand, are each composed of three half-wave dipoles set up in direct proximity to one another, of which only the middle one is interrupted and the ends thus created form the connecting small parts of the radiating part connected directly to the transmission line.
The electrical properties of the fallen dipole are known per se and will be mentioned to me in what follows. For the time being it will only be remembered that the radiation properties of a fallen dipole correspond almost completely to those of a single half-wave dipole. The current distribution is almost sinusoidal, as with the half-cell dipole.
The radiating parts 10 to 13 are directly connected to a along the axis 14 he stretching, consisting of two parallel conductors be standing transmission line. This transmission line contains three from sehnitte 17, 18 and 19, each having a length corresponding to a quarter of the wavelength to be transmitted. The lower end of the transmission line, that is to say the end piece extending downward from the connecting small parts of the radiating part 18,
is connected to the schematically illustrated transmitting or receiving device 20 by means of a transmission line 21 consisting of two concentric conductors. Of course, the antenna structure can also be connected to the transmitting or receiving device 20 by means of a transmission line existing on two conductors placed next to and parallel to one another.
It should be noted that, where in the foregoing, reheating or in the following the term used, the carrier wave frequency is used for amplitude modulation of the vibrations to be transmitted or received, and for phase or frequency modulation the mean carrier wave frequency is meant.
In the antenna structure according to Fig. 1 must sen the radiating parts 10, 12 respectively. 11, 13 are excited in phase. Furthermore, the currents flowing in the radiating parts 10, 12 must be phase-shifted by 90 with respect to the currents flowing in the parts 11, 13. A phase rotation which increases with the length occurs along the transmission line 17-19, which is 909 for a length corresponding to a quarter of the V wavelength. The correct phase relationships of the antenna currents can therefore be obtained in a simple manner by connecting the radiating parts with points of the transmission line which are different by 1 / .1 wavelength.
It must be taken into account that the radiating parts located in a common vertical surface must be excited in phase, so that the transmission line must cross each time after a length of 1/2 wavelength. A particularly simple way of maintaining this intersection is to bend the conductors of the transmission line between the outermost radiating parts according to a helical line and with such a constant slope that a half turn has a length corresponding to half a wavelength .
This avoids sudden crossings of the conductors of the transmission line and a simple construction of the insulators and the other necessary support means can be obtained. The antenna structure according to FIG. 1 is preferably supported by a single, central support mast, not shown, which runs along the axis 14.
The impedance occurring between the connection terminals of a normal half-wave dipole or the radiation resistance is generally too low for direct adaptation to a transmission line. However, as is known per se, the folded dipole is not only a radiator, but also a part that transforms the pedal. The radiation resistance of a single half-wave dipole, that is, the quotient of the total transmitted energy and the square of the current occurring in the middle, is 73 ohms. In the case of the folded dipole, on the other hand, the radiation resistance is primarily a function of the number of radiators used and of the dimensions of these radiators.
In the case of a folded dipole consisting of two radiators of the same diameter, the radiation resistance is about four times greater than that of a single dipole, namely about 29-2 ohms. The folded dipole, which is composed of three radiators, has a transformation ratio of about 9: 1 if the radiators have the same diameter. The transformation ratio of the folded dipole can be changed significantly by using radiators of different diameters. A folded dipole, for example, offers the possibility of obtaining a large radiation resistance, namely a radiation resistance of such a size that a direct connection and adaptation to a transmission line of normal dimensions is possible.
Use is made of this option in the case of the present antenna structure. The radiation resistance of the radiating parts used is selected each time, possibly in connection with existing parallel resistors, in such a way that there is direct adaptation to the wave resistance of the transmission line sections 17-19. This ensures that when the antenna structure is excited, the energy to be transmitted is evenly distributed over all radiating parts. A closer analysis of the foregoing will now be given in connection with FIG.
Since the radiating parts 10-13 have a mainly ohmic impedance for their resonance frequency, the antenna structure according to FIG. 1 can be represented by the substitute scheme according to FIG. 2, in which the resistors 10-13 represent the radiating parts and have values which the impedances occurring between the connection terminals of the radiating parts correspond.
The input impedance Z of the entire antenna structure must have a value of F4taen solcho11 that it corresponds to the @ 'i'elle @ wi <lcr- stand of the concentric cable 21. In this case di- @ \ liettr @ - (rungsleitung 21 to the correct @@ 'a # is, al, g,

In the example described above, the conductance is not terminated with its wave resistance. The:.
However, it can also still be made, so that each transmission section mii for the wavelength transmitted is terminated with a resistance corresponding to its characteristic impedance.
By means of the above-mentioned ssezi ,, bwe @ .; a correct adaptation between s.iiiit- borrowed parts of the antenna structure can be determined and grounded. In a practical @usfiihrun ;;. @ - form of the antennae image according to Fig. 1 b <i- ben folo;

It can be proven that the antenna structure shown here builds the energy, it is transmitted in a horizontal direction, the radiation diagram being almost circular in an eternal area.
Such a radiation diagram is particularly desirable for @ and functi @ corner.
It is evident that the structure d1abra-iiiin i111 is generally not symmetrical, -if an odd number of radiant ls @ ile is verivelidet -but symmetrical, v-cnn the number of strablender parts is even mad besides a correct adjustment between sc , lic,
n the different parts of the Ante.n- w @ ngebild. Although the antenna structure according to the invention is particularly suitable for use for transmission purposes, it can of course also be used for reception purposes. With this in mind, it is recalled that the radiation diagram, the power distribution and other electrical properties of an antenna structure are the same, regardless of whether energy is extracted from or supplied to the antenna structure.
