Process for the production of workpieces with a longitudinally variable cross section on extrusion presses. It is known to produce workpieces with a variable cross-section in the longitudinal direction on extrusion presses in that the shaping is carried out using dies together with one or more mandrels of variable cross-section which move during the deformation with the workpiece, the cross-section of which is measured so that they open the die opening in each,
Add the stages of deformation to the desired profile. Since the sem known method of BEZW. The mandrels can be moved forward in the pressing direction at the speed of the press ram: with the help of this method, only work pieces can be produced that have a thin cross-section at one end and a thick cross-section at the other. To z.
B. for beams that are stressed differently over their length by bending moments, the cross-sections of the workpiece. To be able to adapt occurring bending stresses, there is a need to be able to produce workpieces with any changing cross-section on extrusions in a simple manner.
The subject matter of the invention is a process for the production of workpieces with a cross-section that can be changed in the longitudinal direction onto extrusion with the aid of at least one mandrel, the cross-section of which is partly made up of a circular arc corresponding to the diameter of the recipient, and which:
characterized in that the mandrel is moved alternately in the pressing direction and counter to the pressing direction through the die by sliding it temporarily in a recess of the press ram.
An exemplary embodiment of an extrusion press used to carry out the method is shown schematically in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the extruder; Fig. 2 is the same longitudinal section with the mandrel in a different position; Figure 3 is an end view of the mandrel in the direction of arrows .d of Figures 1 and 2; 4 to 6 and 9 show various workpieces produced by the method in side view, and FIGS. 7 and 8 illustrate a possible application of the workpieces. Identical parts are marked with the same symbol throughout.
1 is the recipient, 2 is the material to be pressed, e.g. B. light metal, 3 the die, 4 the press ram, 5 the mandrel with. an engraving, which has the profiles to be given to the workpiece to be pressed. At 6 a guide for the mandrel is attached in a recess in the press ram 4. 7: is another press ram with hydraulic or mechanical drive for the purpose of moving the mandrel in the recess of the press ram.
To produce a workpiece according to FIG. 4 one proceeds, for example, as follows: While the press ram 4 presses half the block, i. H. covers the distance L / 2 , the mandrel 5, for example with the help of the further press ram 7, is pressed from its outermost position (see FIG. 1) in the opposite direction to the press direction and is located at the end of this press stage in the position according to FIG. 2.
During a further movement of the press ram 4 around the) Veg L / 2, the mandrel 5 moves forwards in the direction of the pressing direction, if necessary by abutting its rear end surface in the press ram 4.
In the first work stage, the die opening thus initially releases the smallest cross section, which gradually changes to the largest cross section, and in the second work stage the largest cross section then changes back into the smallest cross section, so that the result is a workpiece according to Fig 4 is created.
By controlling the mandrel 5 in the pressing direction or in the opposite direction to the pressing direction, within the limits of the engraving made in the mandrel (see FIG. 3), workpieces with any changes in cross-direction can be produced, for example those as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 are shown.
The possible application of workpieces produced according to the invention is explained using an example: Fig. 7 shows: a girder that is uniformly loaded over its length and has two overbending ends for the underframe of a railway carriage.
Fig. 8 shows the bending moment area of the beam with uniform loading; this has a maximum over the two supports. According to this bending moment flow, the carrier is now formed as shown in FIG. 9 in the side view.
-According to the manufacturing processes possible up to now, such a carrier could only be manufactured in accordance with the course of the bending moment area by means of attached tabs, since the welding of carriers made of light metals for highly stressed structural members is not possible.
The present invention makes it possible, however, to give the carrier according to FIG. 9 a cross-sectional profile which corresponds exactly to your bending moment profile.
To prevent the mandrel from getting stuck on the die. To avoid heavy wear of the tools as a result of the friction between steel and steel, it is advisable to create a press shirt by arranging an air gap between the die and the cylindrical surface of the mandrel, as has already been proposed for another method.
